Haryana to develop Asia's largest jungle safari in Aravalli Hills
According to a release, this ambitious project will not only promote green tourism in the state but will also serve as an important step towards wildlife conservation. With the aim of giving shape to this project, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, along with Union Minister Manohar Lal and Environment, Forest, and Wildlife Minister Rao Narbir Singh, visited Vantara, Jamnagar, in Gujarat and gathered information in this regard.
This jungle safari in Haryana will be developed over an area of approximately 10,000 acres, where various types of animals, birds, and natural biodiversity will be preserved. This safari will be equipped with modern technology and special arrangements will be made for eco-friendly tourism.
The development of safari in the Aravalli hills will provide new employment opportunities for the local youth in tourism, guiding, hospitality, and other related sectors. Also, this project will strengthen the regional climate and ecology.
Nayab Singh Saini himself is reviewing this big project from time to time. He has given clear instructions to the Forest and Environment Department that the project should be completely eco-friendly. This project will prove to be a milestone in environmental protection, promoting tourism and creating new employment opportunities.
The Forest and Environment Department and the Tourism Department will jointly give shape to this project. The government aims to make this safari a major attraction for tourists from the country and abroad and make Haryana a leader in the field of eco-tourism.

Indian Navy gets third survey vessel Ikshak
New Delhi [India], August 14 (ANI): Ikshak (Yard 3027), the third of four Survey Vessel (Large) ships, 102nd ship steered by the Indian Navy's Warship Design Bureau, built at Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE), Kolkata and overseen by Warship Overseeing Team (Kolkata) was delivered to the Indian Navy on Thursday, Ministry of Defence said on Thursday. The first ship of the class, INS Sandhayak, was commissioned on February 3, 2024 and the second ship, INS Nirdeshak, on December 18, 2024. The contract for four Survey Vessels (Large) was signed on 30 October SVL ships are designed and built as per the classification rules of the Indian Register of Shipping by M/s Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE), Kolkata. The ship aims at full-scale coastal and deep-water Hydrographic survey of Port/Harbour approaches and determination of navigational channels/routes. The ship will also collect oceanographic and geophysical data for defence and civil applications. With a displacement of about 3400 tons and an overall length of 110 meters, Ikshak is fitted with state-of-the-art hydrographic equipment such as Data Acquisition and Processing System, Autonomous Underwater Vehicle, Remotely Operated Vehicle, DGPS Long range positioning systems, Digital side scan sonar, etc. Powered by two diesel engines, the ship can achieve speeds in excess of 18 keel of the ship was laid on 06 Aug 21, and the ship was launched on 26 Nov 22. The ship has undergone a comprehensive schedule of trials in harbour and at sea prior to its has an indigenous content of over 80% by cost. Chouhan asks states to check urea diversion, curb fake fertiliser sale amid kharif demand surge
'Chouhan urged all state agriculture ministers to ensure proper use of urea by forming monitoring committees and strengthening oversight mechanisms,' an official statement said. Chairing a virtual meeting with state agriculture ministers, Chouhan also directed them to ensure that only 600 certified bio-stimulants are sold in the market, down from around 30,000 uncertified products being sold earlier. New Delhi, Aug 14 (PTI) With rising urea demand during the ongoing kharif sowing season, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday asked state governments to prevent diversion of the key fertiliser to non-agricultural purposes and curb the sale of fake fertilisers. The minister identified two main reasons for increased urea demand: higher sowing of rice, maize and other crops due to good rainfall, and possible misuse of urea for non-agricultural purposes. 'If the demand is genuinely for farming needs, urea will certainly be supplied and the ministry is working promptly on this. However, if there is any suspicion of misuse, it will be seen as a serious matter that will invite strict action,' Chouhan warned. On bio-stimulants, he said around 30,000 such products were being sold earlier, many without proper certification. 'So far, only 600 bio-stimulants have been certified. He directed officials to ensure that only these certified products reach farmers,' the statement said. The meeting also reviewed preparations for the National Mission on Natural Farming, which will be launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 23. Chouhan directed officials to ensure full readiness to meet the mission's targets and discussed progress under the Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana in 100 districts. The minister also emphasised increasing production of pulses and oilseeds, urging state agriculture ministers to personally lead and promote these missions and schemes. Compensation is being directly transferred to farmers' accounts through digital payments, and if any insurance company or state government delays claim settlement, an additional 12 per cent interest will be paid directly to farmers' accounts. During the meeting, agriculture ministers from several states, including Rajasthan's Bhajan Lal, Uttar Pradesh's Surya Pratap Shahi, Madhya Pradesh's Aindal Singh Kanshana, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, Karnataka's N Cheluvarayaswamy, and others, requested additional urea supplies.
