beIN MEDIA GROUP Extends Rights Deal in MENA and Asia to Broadcast UEFA Club Competitions Until 2027
beIN MEDIA GROUP ('beIN') and UC3, the UEFA-ECA joint venture, have extended their long-standing media rights agreement, ensuring beIN SPORTS, the network's flagship sports channel, will continue to broadcast European football's premier club competitions live and exclusive across the Middle East, North Africa, and Asia until 2027.
The partnership between the leading global sports broadcaster and UEFA Club competitions dates back to 2012/13. As part of the extension, beIN will broadcast the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Women's Champions League, UEFA Europa League, and UEFA Conference League across 33 markets for a further three years, until the end of the 2026/27 season.
The revamped format debuted this year across all three men's competitions featuring 36-team leagues rather than group stages bringing 20% more matches to beIN subscribers in 23 countries across the MENA region and 10 countries in Asia. The new format for the UEFA Women's Champions League, featuring 18-team leagues, will begin in the 2025/26 season.

This year's competitions are edging closer towards their respective finals, with the UEFA Champions League semi-final first-leg ties between Arsenal and Paris Saint Germain as well as Barcelona and Inter Milan taking place on 29 and 30 April. This will be followed by the UEFA Europa League semi-finals of Athletic Club vs Man United and Tottenham vs Bodø/Glimt, in addition to the UEFA Conference League semis which see Real Betis take on Fiorentina, as well as Djurgården and Chelsea on 1 May.
As with this year, beIN will retain the exclusive rights to all matches across the MENA and Asia regions, broadcasting games simultaneously across its beIN SPORTS bouquet until the end of the 2027 season. The exclusive deal covers the following countries: Algeria, Bahrain, Chad, Djibouti, Egypt, Iran, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, UAE, Yemen, Iraq, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Timor-Leste, Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia, with expanded coverage to bring back the UEFA Club Competitions on beIN in Indonesia and the Philippines.
Over the past 11 years, beIN SPORTS has broadcast – live and exclusive – some of the most memorable moments of modern European club football, including Cristiano Ronaldo's stunning overhead kick in Real Madrid's victory over Juventus in the 2018 UEFA Champions League quarter-final, Lucas Moura's spectacular 96th minute winner against Ajax as Tottenham Hotspur came back from 0-3 down to qualify for the 2019 final, and eventual winners Bayern Munich's remarkable 8-2 win over Barcelona in the quarter-finals of the 2019-20 competition.

Season synopsis Premier League final position: Fourth FA Cup: Fourth round League Cup: Fourth round Uefa Conference League: Winners, beat Real Betis 4-1 in final It is still difficult not to view Chelsea through the lens of the gratuitous and at times reckless billion-plus spend under the current ownership group. On the pitch they might be a young and improving side with a manager adept at working with such a squad, but given the outlay and the astonishing wastefulness – Joao Felix on a seven-year £130k-a-week contract for example – the praise can be a little thin on the ground. After all, that's a lot of investment to celebrate sneaking fourth place in the Premier League on the final day of the season and lifting Uefa Conference League. However, it's also hard to argue that they aren't a better side than 12 months ago, and returning to the bUefa Champions League is a big step in the right direction. Best performance of the season Chelsea 3-1 Liverpool: Chelsea gave the newly crowned champions a guard of honour – followed by a pasting at Stamford Bridge. Enzo Fernandez struck after just three minutes before Jarrell Quansah's second-half own goal doubled Chelsea's lead. Manager Enzo Maresca – 7.5 Chelsea showed signs of progress in 2024/25 and Maresca deserves credit for helping shape that with a defined style of play and an identity. It's a young side, and despite their lavish spending, they could still do with an elite centre-back and an upgrade in the central striking position. It looks like Maresca will be around to implement phase two of his project. Also, never hurts to put silverware in the cabinet. Goalkeepers Robert Sanchez – 6 Shaky, lost place, earned it back, strong end to season. Filip Jorgensen – 5 Looked bright early, fumbled his chance, became Conference League keeper. Defenders Marc Cucurella – 8.5 Player transformed, massive in defence and transition and important goals. Arguably player of the season. Gone from villain to hero. Levi Colwill – 7.5 Big step forward, growing into a leader. Scored a crucial goal at Nottingham Forest. Malo Gusto – 6 Opportunities more limited this season but did his part. Trevoh Chalobah – 7.5 Massive call to bring the defender back from loan at Crystal Palace. Slotted straight in. Wesley Fofana – 6 Injuries again. Worrying trend continues, but what a player when fit. Reece James – 6.5 Encouraging signs of fitness progress. Chelsea much better for his availability. Tosin Adarabioyo – 6.5 Understated presence and rock solid in the season run-in. Midfielders Enzo Fernandez – 8 Goals, assists and energy – finally getting closer to the World Cup star Chelsea signed. Romeo Lavia – 7 Could be team's best midfielder, but couldn't stay fit again. Mykhailo Mudryk – 2 Minimal contribution then banned for alleged doping. The future looks bleak. Cole Palmer – 8 Barren spell shouldn't blight another strong season of 15 Premier League goals. Also stepped up when his side needed him in the Conference League final. Elite talent. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – 6 Did his part when called upon but used sparingly. Moises Caicedo – 8.5 Arguably best defensive midfielder in the league. Outstanding all season. Forwards Noni Madueke – 7 Lively and threatening but went missing at times. Needs to score more from chances he makes for himself. Nicolas Jackson – 6 Superb start to the season, then hit by a goal drought then injury. Lucky his red card against Newcastle wasn't more costly. Pedro Neto – 6 Lively in parts and scored a few big goals but is much better than he showed overall. Jadon Sancho – 5 Similar to Neto, but a level below. Christopher Nkunku – 3 Doesn't fit into Maresca's system. Unlikely to stay. Tyrique George – 7 The Academy success story of the season. Bright future, could do with a loan spell away and regular game time next season.

In his annual end-of-season interview, Al Mubarak acknowledged the disappointment of not defending the Premier League title and a poor showing in the UEFA Champions League, but emphasised the club's commitment to learn, adapt, and come back stronger.'This season is a season that's now behind us,' said Al Mubarak. 'And we will take all the good things and the not so good things from this season and learn from them and improve them and get better.'This season's campaign marked a rare dip in what has otherwise been an era of dominance for City under manager Pep Guardiola. The team, which had captured a historic treble the previous season, finished third in the league and failed to reach the last-16 of the Champions League. Still, Al Mubarak maintained a firm belief that the club remains on the right track and will quickly rebound. 'I can assure you, this club will do everything possible to come back to the standards that we know we all can achieve and that we know we will achieve,' he stated. 'If there's one thing I'd like right now, it's to turn that page from last season and just immediately start focusing on next season.'The chairman spoke of a squad still hungry for success. He described the atmosphere following the final league game against Fulham as one filled with determination and eagerness to return to form. 'Nobody feels good about how we finished the season. They want to come back and they want to come back hungry. And I can see the hunger.'That sentiment extends beyond the players. Al Mubarak revealed that the club's leadership wasted no time in preparing for the upcoming season, even beginning discussions about transfers the day after the season ended. The interview was filmed the next day on Monday. The chairman said the club is starting by targeting the special transfer window opening by FIFA for teams participating in an extended 48-team Club World Cup. 'We finished yesterday evening, our last game. And today, we're working. Nobody's going on vacation yet,' he transfer plans are already in motion with clear targets identified. 'We have our clear number one option, our clear number two option,' he said. 'And we'll go about our business, and it will be very clear, very swift.' The goal is to ensure the team is ready for the Club World Cup, to be held next month in the United Mubarak also reflected on the two pillars of the club: Kevin De Bruyne and Pep Guardiola.
