Owners of Sunset Speedway gear up for final race before hanging up their helmets
The owners of Sunset Speedway are waving the checkered flag on their long-standing victory.
After more than a decade at the wheel and major upgrades to the facility, Brian and Sandra Todish have announced that this racing season will be their last at the historic Innisfil track.
'After much reflection and consideration, we are announcing that this will be our final season at Sunset Speedway. It has been an incredible journey, filled with thrilling races, unforgettable moments, and a sense of camaraderie that we will cherish forever,' they shared in a statement on the track's website.

Sunset Speedway is a NASCAR semi-banked short track motor racing oval located at 6918 Yonge Street in Innisfil. Brian and Sandra purchased the speedway back in May 2009.
The duo says they are grateful for the unwavering support and enthusiasm they have received over the years.
'As we prepare for our last lap, we hope you'll join us in making this season one to remember.'
The future of the Yonge Street raceway remains unclear, but fans will get one final lap as a special three-night send off event is scheduled in September.

Article content TORONTO — New polling conducted by Abacus Data confirms that nearly 9-in-10 Canadians support Air Canada flight attendants' fight for fair pay – and they want the federal government to back off and let them negotiate it freely and fairly. Article content 88% per cent of Canadians believe flight attendants should be paid for all work-related duties including boarding, delays, and safety checks. 59% believe the federal government should respect flight attendants' right to take job action – even if it causes travel disruptions. Article content A decisive majority support flight attendants' efforts in this critical round of bargaining. Article content 76% support raising their pay to reflect the important safety role they play. 71% support Air Canada matching or exceeding competitor airline pay as Canada's flagship carrier. 80% support raising flight attendant pay to meet the rising cost-of-living. 59% think Air Canada's wage increase for junior flight attendants is still too low to live on in major cities, and only 19% think Air Canada's wage offer is fair.
