S.W.A.T. Cancelled: Shemar Moore Says CBS Made Wrong Choice, Asks Netflix, NBC, Fox and ABC to Consider Season 9
You've gotta respect the hustle.
Hours after CBS cancelled S.W.A.T. for a third (and presumably final) time, series star Shemar Moore took to Instagram to thank his longtime broadcast home… and to pitch several other networks and streaming services on a potential Season 9.

'We defied the odds and we made a hit television show that the world loved to watch,' he said. 'So, I say to CBS, if you're done — I know it's about money, optics, politics — I don't think you're making the right choice. I'll say that. But if you are done, I say thank you, genuinely, honestly, from my heart.' He then made clear that he 'ain't done' yet: 'Hey, Netflix, how you doing?'
Moore proceeded to speak directly to Netflix, adding: 'If you're interested in a show that is an autopilot, that the world is watching, we'd love to come play.' And if Netflix isn't interested, he's happy to set up shop just about anywhere: 'NBC, Fox, ABC… Hey, you want to come flirt with me? You're invited to the barbecue. Pick your favorite restaurant. I will pay the bill, OK? So trust me, all of us — the family over at S.W.A.T. — we ain't done chasing bad guys. Helicopter chases and motorcycle chases and car chases and blowing up stuff… we ain't done.'

2 ‘Gilmore Girls' actors to join Brighton's Stars Hollow weekend in September
Fans, dust off your flannels and fast-talk your way to Brighton this fall: Two beloved 'Gilmore Girls' stars are coming to town. Destination Stars Hollow, the immersive fan event that transforms Brighton's Main Street into the cozy, fictional town from the hit early 2000s TV show, returns in September — and this year, it's bringing some familiar faces. Scott Patterson, best known for his role as the grumpy-but-lovable diner owner Luke Danes, will appear at the event on Saturday, Sept. 20. Also joining the festivities that day is Michigan native Rose Abdoo, who played two fan-favorite characters — the quirky mechanic named Gypsy and, in the Netflix revival 'A Year in the Life,' the no-nonsense maid Berta. Abdoo was born in Detroit and raised in Southfield. She is also a Michigan State University alum. Meet-and-greet tickets with the actors will go on sale closer to the event, with an official date to be announced. VIP ticket holders will receive first access to those limited tickets. More: 'Gilmore Girls' fan event returns to Brighton for 3 days this fall The 2024 debut of Destination Stars Hollow drew more than 40,000 fans from across Michigan and as far away as Hawaii, New York and Florida, putting Brighton — a small city in Livingston County — in a national spotlight. Created by Brighton residents and 'Gilmore Girls' superfans Kathleen London and Laura Boote, the event is designed to boost local businesses while offering fans a chance to step into their favorite show. Nearly 40 downtown storefronts will be transformed into Stars Hollow-inspired destinations, complete with themed décor and curated experiences. This year, the festival will stretch over three days instead of one. It kicks off Friday, Sept. 19, with a $150 VIP package that includes early access to Main Street shopping, a themed tote bag filled with show-inspired merchandise, first access to dinner reservations, and priority for meet-and-greet tickets. The free-to-attend festivities run from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, and Sunday, Sept. 21., featuring a wide range of themed shopping stores, photo ops, activities, food and more. According to organizers, weekend events will include easter egg hunts, dance-a-thons, knit-a-thons, Chilton-style fashion shows, a look-alike contest and even a Poe Society homage — all designed to immerse attendees in the 'Gilmore Girls' universe. Jessica Simpson Gets Emotional Over Lookalike Daughter Maxwell's Major Milestone
Where did time go? Jessica Simpson's eldest daughter Maxwell, 13, just celebrated a major milestone and mom is all in her feelings. Simpson celebrated Maxwell's graduation from the sixth grade on June 3 with a sweet mother-daughter Instagram selfie. The golden light of the day shined bright on the twinning family members. Simpson looked radiant with her long, blonde locks gently framing her face while Maxwell adorably made a funny face. More from SheKnows Why Malia Obama Quietly Dropped Her Last Name - And What Michelle Really Thinks About It 'Let the good times roll into the 7th grade my beautiful Maxwell Drew 🎓✨💛,' wrote the proud mom in the caption. Simpson, who shares Maxwell, son Ace, 11, and daughter Birdie, 6, with estranged husband Eric Johnson, often speaks about how motherhood shaped her adult life, especially when it comes to body image. 'Raising Maxwell makes me realize that I don't want her to see me beat myself up for things like food choices or numbers on a scale,' she told People in 2013. 'Those things don't determine who we are and instead make us feel terrible about ourselves I want her to know her value, rather than spending her energy fighting negative voices from within.' The 44-year-old singer praised her teen daughter for being 'a leader, a doer, a protector, a light, a determined force, a lover of life, a goofball, a treasure, a creative, a care bear, a trusted wise old soul' in a May 11 Mother's Day post. She continued, 'Maxwell is indeed a drama free intuitive feelin' empath. She is an inspiration to all who know her, follow her and confide in her.' Simpson revealed that her mother, Tina, treated Maxwell to a Parisian trip in honor of her 13th birthday on May 1. '3 generations 3 connected hearts 3 spirit-filled souls 3 women who smile, laugh, and shine brighter through it all ✨💛💛💛✨,' gushed the 'I Wanna Love You Forever' singer. 'It is official…I AM THE MOTHER OF A TEENAGER, and I LOVE IT.' Miami contestant booted from ‘Love Island' amid online backlash. What we know
Yulissa Escobar did not get off to an auspicious start on Peacock dating show 'Love Island USA.' The bubbly Miami contestant was ousted during the second episode Wednesday night. What happened? Redditors unearthed old videos of Escobar dropping the n-word repeatedly on an old podcast discussing a past partner. Once those clips went viral, the 27-year-old's fate was apparently sealed. Viewers, who can vote on their fave pairings from the comfort of home, were introduced to Escobar last week. But this week, she vanished from Fiji (and TV screens) with narrator Iain Stirling announcing her departure midway through the show. 'Yulissa has left the villa,' Stirling said of the businesswoman who runs Aesthetic Events, a local mobile bar company. Peacock offered no explanation, nor did Escobar when the Miami Herald reached out to her for comment. But one of her recent Instagram posts, announcing she was joining the show, was telling, with critics flooding the comments. 'Can't wait to send you home.' 'Oh girl you'll be the first to go.' 'Don't get too comfortable.' In another promo clip, Escobar describes why she's a great catch. 'I'm here to find my knight in shining armor, I want that movie kind of love,' says the four foot 10 entrepreneur. 'I'm super fun ... like this bundle of joy that just came out of nowhere.'
