Kid Cudi Says Rehab ‘Saved My Life' After Relapse And Mental Health Crisis

Kid Cudi, whose real name is Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi, believes something terrible could have happened if he had not sought help and gone to Rehab. Kid Cudi has opened up about his mental health struggles like never before. The rapper, who gave hits like Pursuit of Happiness, revealed the painful past when he was fighting a battle only a few knew about. He also reflected on the moments when he hit 'rock bottom," and the moment he decided to seek help and go to Rehab. During the recent episode of Call Her Daddy, Cudi, the author of the new book Cudi: The Memoir, looked back at the time between 2015 and 2016 when everything came crashing down. 'I relapsed and started using again," he said, adding, 'It was like the decline getting just darker and darker and darker. And um, suicide was on my mind like all the time. Like I would like daydream about this s—, you know?" When Kid Cudi Decided To Go To Rehab The reality hit him hard. It had been six years since he last used and he thought that chapter of his life was over. 'I was like, damn, I thought I was past that — and I'm obviously not," he admitted. Cudi continued, 'People don't want to keep seeing you be a f—up. You got to get your life together, bro. You're not in your 20s no more." Soon after he realised the harsh truth, he decided to go to rehab, a decision which, according to him, saved his life. Looking back, Cudi, whose real name is Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi, believes something terrible could have happened if he had not sought help. 'Ever since then, I haven't been like — yeah, I get down about some things, but I get over it. Before, something bad would happen and I'd be miserable for weeks. Since 2016, I've been like a thousand times better," explained Cudi. Kid Cudi's Difficult Rehab Journey However, Cudi's rehab journey was not without difficulties. While watching TV in the rehab centre, he suffered a stroke and, recalling the incident, he shared, 'I was watching TV in the rehab center and my vision got crossed. Like when you cross your eyes and how it looks. It was like that, but my eyes weren't crossed." The next day, his speech and movements slowed and later, doctors confirmed it was a stroke. He was told his age worked in his favor and if it had happened to him in his 40s, the result might have been different. Cudi's new memoir, Cudi: The Memoir, dives deeper into these moments, encapsulating his journey through depression, addiction, self-doubt and the courage to keep going. Ahaan Panday's Sweet Gesture Towards Fans Wins Hearts, Video Goes Viral

Last Updated: Ahaan Panday has been getting love from all corners ever since his debut film Saiyaara has released. The romantic drama has shattered all box office records. Ahaan Panday may be just one film old, but the young actor is already winning over fans with his charm. The Saiyaara star was recently spotted in Mumbai, where his gesture towards fans has gone viral on social media. In the video, shared by Filmygyan, we can see Ahaan Panday clicking selfies with fans. He was all smiles as he clicked photos and even interacted with them. The actor has been getting love from all corners ever since his debut film Saiyaara has released. The romantic drama has shattered all box office records. Many celebrities have praised the film. Mohit Suri's take on Saiyaara: Filmmaker Mohit Suri is currently basking in the success of his latest release, Saiyaara, featuring debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. Suri, at CNN-News18's Mumbai Townhall event, said that his upcoming film Saiyaara was written keeping newcomers in mind. He revealed that it was Yash Raj Films chairman Aditya Chopra who told him that the film would flop if it were made with 'established names". 'I really had put in a lot of my voice into the film," Suri shared. 'In this atmosphere where everyone was blowing up cars, I was making this love story with new people. I put in a lot of myself in writing the film, along with my assistant. I sent the script to YRF during the December holiday weekend and I chickened out. I thought, let me give him some solution—in the sense, provide some actors and known names who would back me and make this film. I so badly wanted to make this film," he explained. Thanks to Aditya Chopra's faith, Mohit Suri stuck to his gut and cast fresh faces, ensuring Saiyaara remains true to its original essence. And the result? A film with a gross collection of over Rs 500 crore! Varun Badola on Saiyaara: In an interview with Nayandeep Rakshit on YouTube, Varun was quoted saying, 'People are saying that this film has proven that we don't need stars anymore. That's not true. Abhi tum Ahaan Panday ko utha ke Jawan mein daalo, Jawan flop ho jayegi. Shah Rukh ko Saiyaara mein daal do, Saiyaara flop ho jayegi. Shah Rukh will suddenly become too big for the film, and Ahaan will not have the personality to run Jawan." 'I saw the euphoria on Instagram. Log jo chudiyaan tod rahe hai, chaatiyaan peet rahe hai (People were breaking their bangles, beating themselves). I think the promotions team went a little overboard there, where people are going to see the film, putting IV drips. Those people must have been told to give content in some way; thank god, people didn't get their legs broken and went crawling to see the film," he added. About Saiyaara: The romantic drama follows Ahaan, a daring and struggling musician, and Aneet, a fiercely devoted writer, as their love is tested by life's trials in classic Mohit Suri style. The film explores themes of grief, sacrifice, and eternal love. Written by Rohan Shankar and Sankalp Sadanah, Saiyaara also features standout performances from Geeta Agrawal Sharma, Sid Makkar, Shaad Randhawa, Rajesh Kumar, and Varun Badola, marking the first collaboration between Mohit Suri and legendary production house Yash Raj Films. view comments First Published: August 14, 2025, 13:39 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
