Mary Berry's 'delicious' chicken lasagne can be whipped up in under 30 minutes
Perfect for feeding the entire family, or for popping in the freezer for a later date, chicken lasagne is simple to prepare and cook.
In her Mary Berry Cook and Share recipe book, the legendary cook explained: "I've cheated with the white sauce and made a quick creamy sauce instead. There are fewer layers than in a traditional lasagne but it's still creamy and delicious."
And she offers a professional cooking tip to make it taste even better: "Soaking the lasagne sheets in water first ensures they will cook quickly." It comes as Brooklyn Beckham is torn to shreds by royal chef for 'ridiculous' idea.
Here's how to make Mary Berry's straightforward chicken lasagne recipe that can be prepared in less than 30 minutes, reports the Express.
How to make chicken lasagne:
Preheat the oven to 200C (180C fan/gas six).
Place the oil in a frying pan over a high heat.
Add the chicken pieces and fry rapidly until golden but not cooked.
Add the chilli, garlic and mushrooms and fry for a few moments.
Add the spinach and stir until wilted.
Measure the cornflour into a small bowl and stir in two tablespoons of water until smooth.
Add the crème fraîche and parsley to the pan with the chicken and stir.
Pour in the cornflour mixture and stir until thickened.
To make the sauce combine the tomatoes, sun-dried tomato paste and thyme in a bowl.
Season with salt and pepper and mix well.
Soak the lasagne sheets in a shallow dish filled with boiling water for a few minutes until soft. Ladle a third of the chicken concoction into the oven dish, followed by a third of the tomato sauce.
Place three lasagne sheets on top and repeat the layers.
End with a final layer of chicken mixture and sauce.
Dust the top with grated cheddar and bake for 35 to 40 minutes, until it turns golden-brown and is thoroughly cooked. Serve alongside a fresh salad.

Brooklyn Beckham 'heartbroken' wife Nicola Peltz is being 'painted as a viper' in feud - after pair 'snubbed' his family from vow renewal
Brooklyn Beckham is reportedly 'heartbroken' over the way his wife Nicola Peltz is being 'painted as a viper' within their ongoing family feud. Billionaire heiress Nicola has previously been accused of 'isolating' Brooklyn from not only his family, but his friends too. Brooklyn, 26, and Nicola, 30, said 'I do' for a second time on August 2 in Westchester County in front of her family, with the Beckham clan notably absent. His parents David, 50, and Victoria, 51, and his brothers Romeo, 22, Cruz, 20, and sister Harper, 14, were nowhere in sight at the second wedding. Brooklyn's grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles were also absent and only found out about the wedding vow renewal by reading it online. New sources allege Brooklyn is not being held from making his own decisions and is 'devastated' over the way his wife is being portrayed. A source told The Mirror: 'It's so rooted in misogyny that all of the heat for his parents not being invited is on Nicola. 'Everyone seems to forget that Brooklyn is an adult man and fully capable of speaking out. Nicola would have respected all that he chose. 'It breaks Brooklyn's heart to see his wife being painted as this vixen and viper.' Daily Mail has contacted Brooklyn, Nicola and the Beckhams representatives for comment. Insiders previously told Daily Mail that Brooklyn's parents are concerned his wife Nicola holds disproportionate sway in her marriage to their son. They said: 'They think Nicola is a bit of a horror but she isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Nicola loves having Brooklyn at her side and she loves him very much. But he is also very useful. 'The wider Beckham family and Brooklyn's friends – many of whom he no longer sees – take the view that he does what Nicola wants. From Beckhams' point of view, it's not nice to watch.' Brooklyn and Nicola's vow renewal was a glamorous affair packed with family, fashion and friends earlier this month. As more pictures of both the big day and the after-party come to light, it is becoming increasingly more apparent that the festivities were fairly one-sided - with most of the guestlist comprising Brooklyn's post-Nicola peers and pals. The lack of Brooklyn's side sparked widespread chat on social media, including comments from fans who likened their relationship to that of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle - after the royal turned his back on his family and moved to the US. When Brooklyn and Nicola first tied the knot in 2022, they hosted a three-day Palm Beach extravaganza, which saw 500 guests party in no-expense-spared marquees in front of the ocean - where both families stood front and centre . Fast- forward three years and the change is remarkable, with no sign of the Beckham parents or the siblings Brooklyn held so close to his heart. In their place is the entirety of the Peltz clan - with Nicola's mother Claudia, 70, and her father Nelson, 83, holding all-star roles on the day. At the 2022 festivities, during the Hora - also known as the Jewish wedding chair dance - where the bride and groom are lifted on chairs while guests dance around them in a circle, David was also lifted up on a seat. Brooklyn's brothers acted as his Dior-clad groomsmen at the event although their positions have officially been occupied by the in-laws. Nicola has six brothers, all of whom Brooklyn is fond however he is very close to her brother Diesel, who introduced him to his bride. As well as swapping siblings, it has also been revealed that Brooklyn has shunned some of his old friends - as illustrated by his wedding pictures.

ITV The Chase's Bradley Walsh pauses show after contestant's heartbreaking admission
The Chase host Bradley Walsh paused Friday's show after a contestant made a heartfelt plea The Chase host Bradley Walsh paused Friday's (August 15) show after a contestant made a heartbreaking admission. The latest episode of the popular ITV quiz show featured a new team, comprising Rhys, Ann, Bethan and Darren, taking on Chaser Darragh Ennis, aka The Menace. However, it was contestant Ann who captured the limelight - and the nation's affections - when she shared details about her husband's struggle with dementia. Before taking her turn, Ann, aged 87, approached host Bradley and requested: "Could I make a plug for my husband?" Bradley immediately beamed and warmly responded: "Plug away, darling," reports the Express. Ann then revealed: "His name is John, he is in a care home and they'll all be watching. Can you say hello to John and all the staff?" Bradley immediately faced the camera and declared: "John, lots of love to you mate, everyone looking after everyone there, and especially those looking after John." He continued with a sincere message: "Thank you so, so much from myself and Ann. Lots of love." Ann's moving moment sparked a wave of sentiment online, with viewers flocking to social media to express their feelings. One fan commented: "Got something in my eye," whilst another penned: "I'm in tears now, bless her." A third admitted: "I'm crying and I haven't even burnt the dinner yet," and one more declared: "This is breaking my heart. Just give her the money!" Shortly after the emotional moment, Bradley softly lifted the mood again, saying: "Now are you ready to play?" It wasn't only the heartfelt moment that made Ann memorable - she also kept her cool during the contest, securing an outstanding £6,000. Rhys equalled her achievement with another £6,000, whilst Bethan contributed £3,000 and Darren added £5,000 to the jackpot. The team entered the Final Chase with a decent £20,000 at stake - and 16 steps separating them from the Chaser. Viewers were backing Ann, with one person declaring: "If the other contestants F this up for Ann in the final, we'll have to send the boys round, there will be trouble." Another added: "What an absolute darling Ann is ... Darragh needs to throw the final so she can get the money she really deserves." However, despite their determined performance, The Menace caught them with merely 12 seconds remaining, stealing the winnings. Supporters made one last appeal to Bradley after Ann revealed she was hoping to treat her loyal family and friends to a meal with her prize money. One person wrote: "I hope Bradley gave her the dosh to take her friends and supporters out for a slap up meal."

Disney Plus hidden gem with 'addictive' plot hailed as 'best ever' by fans
A hidden gem crime series that's perfect for Silent Witness fans is streaming on Disney Plus A Disney Plus hidden gem with an "addictive" plot has been hailed the "best ever" by fans. Crafted by Todd Harthan, American police procedural series Rosewood follows a private pathologist named Dr Beaumont Rosewood Jr (Morris Chestnut), who uses his cutting-edge laboratory to discover murder evidence that the Miami police overlook. He eventually teams up with Detective Annalise Villa (Jaina Lee Ortiz), who finds herself both fascinated and frustrated by Rosewood's unorthodox techniques and upbeat demeanour. Beyond cracking cases, the programme also delves into the characters' private worlds, including Rosewood's bond with his sister, Pippy (Gabrielle Dennis), and mother, Donna (Lorraine Toussaint), alongside the tragic loss of Annalise's spouse, reports the Express. Rosewood initially launched on Fox in September 2015, with its second series debuting in April 2017. The programme was axed just days after the second season's conclusion. Lead actor Morris Chestnut has subsequently featured in numerous films and television programmes, including Watson and Reasonable Doubt. Meanwhile, Jaina Lee Ortiz achieved tremendous acclaim after landing the starring role of Andy Herrera in Shonda Rhimes' Grey's Anatomy spin-off, Station 19. Whilst reviewers weren't particularly taken with Rosewood during its original broadcast, the series proved popular with audiences, with countless fans still posting glowing testimonials online. "This show is addictive. The mixture of comedy and chemistry between the 2 main characters draws you in. Hated that there wasn't more seasons. I would buy them all. Love this show," one person penned on IMDb. Another chimed in: "Literally one of the best shows I have ever watched in my life. Seriously not joking, this show is so good I have to pause it because it will have your heart beating out of your chest." A third viewer enthused: "Definitely a MUST watch series if you like action and suspense, with a touch of romance to spice it up. Loved this series!!!! Really wish they would have continued it longer but it is well worth it." Echoing the sentiment, a fourth fan said: "Detective series are taking over and I must admit this should definitely be in the top bracket of the most watched. Best of the best." Another loyal fan recently shared their disappointment at the show's cancellation, writing: "It's been over 8 years since Rosewood ended and I still 100% believe it deserved a 3rd season. It was a fantastic show! One I still miss." If you're looking to fill the Silent Witness void, Rosewood is the perfect late-night viewing. Prepare to dive into a world of murder, romance and intrigue, all set against the vibrant backdrop of Miami. What's not to love?
