Welcome back, spring football! Or not?
The 2025 United Football League season is scheduled to kick off tonight, but a potential strike threatens the league starting on time. If the UFL and the players' association are unable to reach an agreement on contract salaries and health insurance, the players could go on strike.
If the UFL and players reach a middle ground in negotiations, the first four games of the season will be held this weekend.
The action is scheduled to kick off on Friday (March 28) with the St. Louis Battlehawks facing the Houston Roughnecks at 8 p.m. ET (6 p.m. MT) on Fox, which is available to stream on FuboTV (try it free). After that, the San Antonio Brahmas will take on the Arlington Renegades on Saturday (March 29) at 4 p.m. ET (2 p.m. MT), also on Fox and FuboTV.
Sunday will feature a doubleheader. First, the Michigan Panthers will face the Memphis Showboats at 12 p.m. ET (10 a.m. MT), then the Birmingham Stallions will take on the DC Defenders at 3 p.m. ET (1 p.m. MT). Both games will be televised on ESPN and available to stream on FuboTV (try it free).

The Denver Broncos just wrapped up organized team activities, with minicamp on deck next. The rookies were able to meet their veteran counterparts and showcase their skills before training camp begins. One of those new rookies is undrafted free agent defensive back Joshua Pickett. Pickett was a four-year player at Duke University from 2021-24. In 50 games played, Pickett recorded 101 tackles (66 solo, 35 assisted), five tackles for loss, one sack, two interceptions, 16 pass deflections and one forced fumble. Pickett had his best season in 2024, where he had 38 combined tackles (26 solo, 12 assisted), four tackles for loss, one interception, one forced fumble and seven pass deflections. Advertisement In one of the toughest divisions in college football, Pickett was a stalwart pass defender, and he'll aim to win a spot in Denver's secondary this summer.
