Eritrea: Training on Social Science in Gash Barka

The office of the PFDJ in the Gash Barka Region has provided training on social science to youth workers in the region. The training was conducted from 23 June to 2 July in Barentu.
The objective of the training was to enhance the productivity and overall awareness of the youth working in PFDJ and Government institutions. The training was attended by 139 participants, including 68 females, composed of youth Government workers and PFDJ organizations.
Mr. Ahmed Tahir, Head of Political Affairs of the PFDJ in the region, stated that the training covered the basic concepts of politics, the significance and necessity of organization, the history of the Eritrean people from ancient times to independence, the National Charter, organizational framework and transitional law, nation and nationalism, religious radicalism and its consequences, as well as the role of youth in resilience and development.
Indicating that this was the first training of its kind organized at the regional level, Ambassador Mahmud Ali Jabra, Secretary of the PFDJ in the region, said that it would make a significant contribution to strengthening political and organizational activities.
At the event, Brig. Gen. Eyob Fesehaye (Halibai), Commander of the Eastern Command of the Eritrean Defense Forces, delivered a seminar focusing on the role of cadres in the political and armed struggle of the Eritrean people, as well as on the current situation in the homeland. Brig. Gen. Eyob also called on the youth to develop their overall understanding and awareness and to strengthen their contribution and participation in national affairs.
During the event, participants voluntarily donated blood to help enrich the blood supply of health facilities.

National Eritrean Festival 2025 Commences

The National Eritrean Festival 2025 was officially opened this morning by President Isaias Afwerki at the Expo Grounds. The opening ceremony, which featured colorful traditional dances and songs from the country's various ethnic groups, was attended by Ministers, senior Government and People's Front for Democracy and Justice (PFDJ) officials, members of the diplomatic corps, and numerous nationals from inside the country and abroad. President Isaias, accompanied by senior officials, toured the regional villages that showcase the traditions and living standards of each ethnic group, as well as innovations, creative works, and products of various enterprises. He was provided with briefings by experts at the respective displays. The President also visited pavilions highlighting the status and expansion of social services, exhibitions of agricultural products, natural and cultural resources, the rich biodiversity of the Red Sea, as well as historical and ancient heritage sites. Photo and sculpture exhibitions organized by the Ministry of Defense and individual artists, displays depicting the activities of the Crops and Livestock Corporation, a book fair, paintings, and other exhibitions are among the highlights of the annual national festival. The festival will remain open until 17 August, featuring traditional music and dances, children's programs, locally produced films, bazaars, seminars, and other activities. Eritrea: President Donald Trump sends message to President Isaias Afwerki

President Donald Trump has sent a letter to President Isaias Afwerki, on 30 July this week, underlining that he is 'reversing the negative, harmful damage of the Biden Administration around the globe'. In his message that also expressed appreciation for President Isaias' letter of congratulations of November last year for his election as the 47th President of the United States. President Trump referred to his Administration's readiness to re-establish a respectful and productive national relationship between the US and Eritrea 'based on honesty, respect, and opportunities to improve peace and prosperity across the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea'. As it will be recalled, President Isaias Afwerki had sent a warm message of congratulations to President Donal Trump in November last year on his 'historic comeback and election as the 47th President of the United States at very crucial time when global peace is of paramount importance more than ever before'. President Isaias had at the time expressed his hopes that President Trump's 'election will open a new chapter of fruitful and constructive ties of cooperation between Eritrea and the United States'. Eritrea: Training for Heads of Ministry of Education Branch in Anseba Region

The Ministry of Education branch in the Anseba Region, in collaboration with partners, has provided training to heads of education regional office and supervisors, school directors, heads of sub-zonal education offices, and other officials. The training, conducted from 22 to 28 July in Keren, covered administration and leadership, student-centered teaching methodology, conflict resolution, reporting and statistics, as well as other topics related to the teaching-learning process. Mr. Kiflai Andemicael, head of the education office in the region, stated that the objective of the training was to identify strengths and challenges, and to enhance the capacity and competitiveness of students. Ambassador Abdella Musa, Governor of the region, emphasized the significance of the training in ensuring quality education and called for its sustainability. In the same vein, Brig. Gen. Eyob Fesehaye (Halibai), Commander of the Western Command of the Eritrean Defense Forces, conducted a seminar for the training participants under the theme 'The Compensation of a Committed Teacher is the Satisfaction of Conscience.' Noting that teachers and teaching are key pillars of resilience, Brig. Gen. Eyob underscored that education is the only path to development and called on teachers to properly discharge the heavy responsibility bestowed upon them.
