Hyrox is a global fitness racing competition that combines functional fitness and endurance. It is often described as a fitness race for "every body," designed to test participants' strength, power, speed, and endurance. The event format combines running with functional fitness exercises, making it appealing to a wide range of competitors – from trained athletes to recreational individuals.
Hyrox is structured as a set course, where participants complete 8 kilometers of running (divided into 1 km loops) interspersed with 8 functional fitness stations. Athletes must complete a fitness station immediately after each kilometer of running. The goal is to finish the entire course as quickly as possible, and the results are ranked based on performance.
One of the unique aspects of Hyrox is that it welcomes athletes from a wide variety of fitness disciplines, including runners, CrossFitters, gym-goers, and functional fitness enthusiasts. However, you must be over the age of 16 to participate.
But what does Hyrox actually stand for? One fitness fan recently took a closer look at the name HYROX, and jokingly said finding out what it actually stood for made him "want to puke".
Taking to TikTok, online fitness coach Harry Mackarness revealed that HYROX stands for Hybrid Rockstar.
In the caption of the video, he wrote: "HYROX - Huge fan of hybrid training, been doing it my whole life and coach in that way too - but finding out that HYROX means Hybrid Rockstar makes me want to puke. Can't unhear that now."
In response, one commenter said: "Is that true? Oh lawd." Another remarked: "HAHAHAHHA I could've gone my whole life without knowing that."
A third commented: "I'm just going to forget you ever said that." But others didn't see a problem with the name.
One asked: "What's wrong with that? Sounds quite cool." And another argued: "I like it, it's fun."

Love Is Blind UK star who was CUT from show revealed despite getting engaged in pods
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A LOVE Is Blind UK star has revealed that they got engaged in the pods – though their connection wasn't seen on screen. The Netflix dating experiment returned last week with 15 new men and 15 new women entering the "pods" in a bid to find love with someone without ever seeing them. 5 Ross appeared on Love Is Blind UK but was barely seen on screen Credit: Instagram 5 It's not known who Ross's mystery fiancee is Credit: Cr. Courtesy of Netflix © 2025 Participants only get to meet their match once they get engaged – and from there it's a six week whirlwind to the finish line including romantic getaways, living together, and meeting loved ones. However, with so many connections there to be formed, not everyone gets to make it past the initial stages, even if they put a ring on it. Typically on a Love Is Blind season, up to five couples are followed past the initial stages. And one star – Ross Millington – has revealed he was one of the unlucky people who were halted from continuing the process. As TikTok blew up with analysing the first episode, one fan spoke about Ross's brief appearance on the show. While he was rarely seen in the pods, he was shown chatting with the lads in the men's lounge as he went through the process – speaking to Kai (who did make it through to the next stage) and Demola (who was snubbed by potential match Katisha in favour of Javen in the process). Ross, a 30-year-old barber shop owner at the time of the series being filmed, jumped in on one fans TikTok asking more about him. "That was me," he noted as she pointed him out. "I didn't make it to Greece unfortunately. Reveal went well though." Ross didn't elaborate further, but as he went through a "reveal" it is safe to assume he at least got engaged. A grab of the comment was later posted to Reddit, with fans dissecting who the lucky woman could be. Love Is Blind UK star storms off show and says 'get this mic off me' after branding co-star 'disrespectful' in fiery rant "Good thing he didnt make it to Greece, as they went to Cyprus," joked one. "I counted 2 guys and 2 gals during the "I'm engaged" scenes that had zero screen time," said another. "They are still around during those moments and I would assume they may have ended up as a couple but were not picked to go to Cyprus. "Makes you wonder if their connection was boring/lack of drama to not be picked over Javen and Katisha...." "I've never understood why they pick some and not the others and then don't edit it down more in post production if necessary," said a third. Trisha Paytas auditions for iconic Disney character but fans obsessed with outfit detail
The singer says she was inspired after watching videos of a small production Trisha Paytas has revealed her audition for a Disney stage production, but her choice of attire has left fans distracted. The singer and YouTuber shared her latest video on TikTok, where she confessed to having watched numerous clips of a stage show suggested by her 'For You' page. The show in question is the Hunchback of Notre Dame, currently being performed at West Valley Arts in Utah, USA. Running until 30 August, the venue's website states that the show draws inspiration from both Victor Hugo's original novel and the Disney animated film. It appears that sneak peeks of the show have sparked Trisha's interest, as she confesses her desire to star in the show herself. She also expressed her wish to travel and see the production in person. Speaking directly to the camera in the clip, she says: "My entire FYP is this theatre in Utah, West valley it's called. Shout out Beatriz (Melo), she plays Esmerelda. She captivated I started being like clicking her profile and seeing all the songs she's ever sang.", reports OK!. "Then I started seeing the guy who plays the Hunchback and I think I would be a really good Hunchback for future productions so here's my audition." However, she went on to admit: "I don't know Hunchback that well. I never liked it as a kid because I probably saw myself too much in Quasimodo and I suppose that was a bad thing back then but now I see myself as a Quasimodo and it's a great thing, I think it's a slay so we're embracing it." She then starts belting out one of the show's numbers, though confesses she doesn't know the words properly so performs it karaoke-style. The clip attracted hundreds of responses from her followers. Numerous fans applauded her for spotlighting smaller creators and intimate productions. This sparked a response from the theatre's official account, who wrote: "Trisha, we are honoured that you love our theatre's content! Follow us for more, and come see Hunchback playing through August 30!" One follower responded: "Trisha could NEVER be Quasimodo she's too stunning." Yet many were sidetracked by Trisha's wardrobe choice in the clip. Whilst some complimented her vibrant pink locks, numerous viewers couldn't help but spot she was sporting a top featuring My Chemical Romance lead singer Gerard Way. The text above reads Michael Romance. One follower responded: "Need the shirt link." Another declared: "Trish I love you and your shirt is sooooo swag." Others remarked how they'd snapped up tickets for the band's recently revealed tour dates.

Chicago is crowning the city's 'Baddest Baldie' in a bald-off contest next week
Forget the gold—on Sunday, August 24, Chicagoans will compete for the chrome (dome) at the inaugural Bald-Off competition. We may have reached the saturation point for celebrity lookalike contests, so this bald and beautiful event is coming in the nick of time to keep us entertained. Leaving the event open to people rocking a bald cap feels a little like cheating, but we'll let it slide since we're about to have a whole fleet of Mr. (and Ms.) Cleans to look at when the contest starts at 6pm at Lincoln Park's Self-Portrait sculpture in the AIDS Garden. TikTok's @ has been teasing the event with videos showing a flier around town that reads: 'This is not a drill. This is a COMPETITION' to find both the 'Baddest Baldie' and 'Baldest Baddie' in Chicagoland. And yes, they are absolutely leaning into celebs, featuring pics of iconic bald celebrities like Pitbull and Cynthia Erivo as aspirational role models. What prompted a tug-of-war between clean-shaven heads? We may never know, but let's chalk it up to creative rebellion inflamed by a sweaty summer. We're picturing a mix of swagger, community and a little bit of theatrical flair from proud Chicagoans eager to strut their bald stuff on the Lakefront. It's enough to get your head spinning in addition to gleaming. The prize is still a mystery, though organizers promise something worthy of the crème de la crème of Chicago baldies. (But if the prize is a golden cue ball, we may rebel by growing out our hair.) So if you've ever wanted to be rewarded for keeping your dome shiny and bright while saving money at the barber, gather your baldest and baddest crew, practice your best Stone Cold Steve Austin glare and head for the park. Whether you're bald-and-bold or bald-for-this, the Bald-Off is one of those singular Chicago moments. A contest that's equal parts performance art and friendly oddball gathering, the Bald-Off may just be the most hilarious, head-turning event this August.
