‘Iran has crossed red lines'

Tehran's response to the Israeli air raids on the Islamic Republic has 'crossed red lines,' the Jewish State's defense minister, Israel Katz, has stated, vowing make Iran pay 'a very heavy price' for its actions.
Iran launched a massive missile barrage late on Friday in response to a series of Israeli air strikes targeting military and nuclear sites inside the Islamic Republic earlier the same day. The nation's military launched 'hundreds' of projectiles at Israel in multiple waves, according to the Iranian media.
Israel Defense Forces, however, claimed that fewer than 100 ballistic missiles were fired at Israel in the two barrages.
At least 35 people were injured in the Iranian attack, according to the Israeli medical authorities. One woman is in critical condition, medics said. The city of Tel Aviv appeared to be one of the prime targets for the Iranian strikes. The Israeli authorities confirmed at least seven impact sites within the city area.
'Iran crossed red lines when it dared to fire missiles toward civilian population centers in Israel. We will continue to defend Israel's citizens and ensure that the ayatollahs' regime pays a very heavy price for its criminal actions,' Katz said, commenting to the developments, according to Ynet News. The minister did not announce any specific steps West Jerusalem could take in response.
The Israeli strikes early on Friday killed Major General Hossein Salami, the commander of Iran's elite Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), and Major General Mohammad Bagheri, the chief of staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, according to the Iranian authorities.
Several media outlets have claimed that several other high-ranking Iranian military commanders and nuclear scientists were killed as well. Tehran blasted the attacks as 'blatant aggression' and vowed a 'crushing' response.
Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, accused West Jerusalem of starting a 'war' and said that Tehran would not 'allow them to escape unscathed from this great crime.'

‘Perverted logic' to call Israeli attack on Iran self-defense

Framing Israel's attack on Iran as self-defense is a form of 'perverted logic,' Russia's deputy envoy to the UN, Dmitry Polyansky, has told RT, accusing West Jerusalem of flagrantly breaching the global body's charter. On Friday, Israel struck Iranian uranium enrichment sites, while also killing several senior military commanders and scientists in targeted assassination operations, describing its acts as preemptive steps aimed at stopping Tehran from acquiring a nuclear bomb. Iran, which denies pursuing a military nuclear program, responded by launching multiple volleys of ballistic missiles at targets in Israel, including in the country's largest city, Tel Aviv. In his interview on Saturday, Polyansky accused Western politicians claiming that Israel's attack on Iran was 'self-defense' of having 'very perverted logic.' 'Of course, every country has the right to defend itself. But in this case, Israel launched an aggression – an attack against Iran – totally violating and breaching the UN Charter and international law… I cannot imagine how it can be framed as legitimate self-defense,' he said. The authorities in Moscow 'totally support the Iranian position… that this is absolutely inadmissible and that nobody should be permitted to act as Israel does,' the diplomat stressed. The attack on Iran is 'a very dangerous provocation against international law, against everything that really keeps our world together, and it can trigger very-very serious consequences regionally and internationally,' he warned. According to Polyansky, the goal of the Israeli strike was to 'undermine' the US-Iran nuclear talks, the next round of which is scheduled to take place on Sunday. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said on Friday that diplomacy was made 'meaningless' by the Israeli attack on Iran, which he claimed was 'allowed' by Washington. However, in a later comment Baghaei clarified that Tehran had not yet made a decision to call off Sunday's meeting in Oman. Moscow wants the talks between the US and Iran to continue, Polyansky said. When it comes to resolving 'the controversy around the Iranian nuclear program... we, of course, favor the way of diplomacy and restraint,' he stressed.

Tucker Carlson blasts Trump over Iran attack

US President Donald Trump's support for Israel's strikes in Iran could spark an 'all-out war' in the Middle East, American journalist Tucker Carlson has warned. Early Friday morning, Israeli jets bombed nuclear and military sites across Iran, prompting Tehran to retaliate with a barrage of drones and missiles targeting Israeli cities. The escalation threatens ongoing negotiations over Iran's nuclear program, which Trump revived earlier this year. In what he described as possibly his 'final newsletter before all-out war,' Carlson – a key Trump ally during the 2024 presidential election – argued that the US was 'complicit in the act of war.' 'While the American military may not have physically perpetrated the assault, years of funding and sending weapons to Israel, which Donald Trump just bragged about on Truth Social, undeniably place the US at the center of last night's events,' Carlson wrote. 'Washington knew these attacks would happen. They aided Israel in carrying them out. Politicians purporting to be 'America First' can't now credibly turn around and say they had nothing to do with it,' he added. In a post on X, Carlson contended that 'the real divide' is not between supporters of Israel or Iran, but 'between warmongers and peacemakers.' 'Who are the warmongers? They would include anyone who's calling Donald Trump today to demand air strikes and other direct US military involvement in a war with Iran,' he said. Carlson stated that the 'warmongers' include talk show hosts Sean Hannity and Mark Levin, media mogul Rupert Murdoch, and Republican donors Ike Perlmutter and Miriam Adelson. While the US State Department has denied involvement in the strikes, Trump confirmed he had prior knowledge of the Israeli operation and praised the attacks as 'excellent.' He blamed Iran for the hostilities and accused it of refusing to accept the terms of his proposed nuclear deal. Addressing the UN Security Council, Iranian envoy Amir Saeid Iravani said the US and other Israeli allies 'share full responsibility for the consequences' of Israel's actions.

US will defend Israel

The US will 'defend itself and Israel' if Iran retaliates for West Jerusalem's 'preemptive' strikes, President Donald Trump has told Fox News. He made the remarks in a phone call with host Bret Baier on Friday morning, according to the network. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) earlier said it struck dozens of targets across Iran, including military installations and a nuclear enrichment facility in Natanz. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the operation aimed to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. Iranian media reported that at least five people were killed and 20 injured in Tehran following the strikes. The attack came just two days before the sixth round of US-Iran nuclear talks scheduled for Sunday in Oman. Trump told Fox News that he had spoken with Netanyahu multiple times in recent days and knew of the planned strikes in advance, adding that 'there were no surprises.' He stressed, however, that 'the US was not involved militarily' and expressed hope that Iran would return to negotiations. 'Iran cannot have a nuclear bomb and we are hoping to get back to the negotiating table. We will see. There are several people in leadership that will not be coming back,' Trump reportedly said, apparently referring to Iranian officials killed in the strikes. Iranian media identified the victims as IRGC commander Hossein Salami, Deputy Chief of Army Staff Gholam Ali Rashid, and nuclear scientists Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi and Fereydoon Abbasi. Trump added that he is monitoring whether Iran will retaliate. The Iranian Army has said it will not tolerate Israeli 'aggression' and warned that 'a bitter lesson awaits Netanyahu.' Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei stated on Friday morning that Israel 'should expect severe punishment.' 'CENTCOM is on high alert, the US will defend itself and Israel if Iran retaliates,' Trump said, according to Fox News. The White House has not commented on the phone call. Ahead of the strikes, Trump wrote on Truth Social that the US 'remain committed to a Diplomatic Resolution to the Iran Nuclear Issue.' 'My entire Administration has been directed to negotiate with Iran. They could be a Great Country, but they first must completely give up hopes of obtaining a Nuclear Weapon,' he posted on Thursday night.
