Neighbors in Southeast Georgia prepare for storm during state of emergency
Georgia Governor Brian Kemp declared a state of emergency ahead of the storm's approach.
Action News Jax Shanila Kabir spoke to neighbors in Folkston who said Saturday's beautiful weather was not fooling anyone. Many have seen the warnings that South Georgia is going to be hit hard by the storm.

'I think we'll be ok. I'm not too worried about it because we have been through worse,' said Michelle Trefethen, Folkston resident.
Many neighbors said they have been stocking their pantries with food as well as securing their yards.
'We have a basketball hoop, and we'll probably lay that down. We'll also pull our cars back closer to the house away from the trees we have in the front,' said Trefethen.
The First Alert Weather Team forecasts that towns in Southeast Georgia will start seeing heavy rains by at least the late morning.

Another Folkston resident, Shakera Walthour, said we should treat this like any day during hurricane preparedness month.
'You never know, it may be a bad storm meanwhile we're thinking it's not. We never know what's going to happen to our homes, vehicles or anything,' said Walthour.
Co-owner of Thai Smile Folkston said the restaurant is closed on Sundays, but they will be monitoring any damage this storm may leave behind.
'We don't have any flooding here, we just have to be worried about the power. If the power is out, we will be closed on Monday. That's the most important thing,' said Navat Manaphanthanont, co-owner of Thai Smile Folkston.

FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Heat relief as a stormy weather pattern begins
The Action News Jax First Alert Weather Team is tracking a dry and hot Saturday, but expect scattered afternoon storms to bring heavy rain, lightning, and gusty winds. Notes from the First Alert Weather Team: Saturday morning is dry and warm with temperatures in the upper 70s and lower 80s. Temperatures will rise into the mid-90s one more time Saturday, especially in Florida. Heating will quickly end with the development of scattered to numerous thunderstorms by the afternoon. Storms will be capable of very heavy rain, causing some flooding, frequent lightning, and strong wind gusts. A few storms could linger well past sunset Saturday night. Showers and storms will continue at times Sunday with a stalled front nearby. This will keep abundant cloud cover and rain around, which will give 'cooler' than average temperatures. An overall wet pattern continues into next week with daily rounds of showers and thunderstorms. This weekend, 1-3″ of rain is likely in many neighborhoods, especially across SE GA. Locally higher amounts of 3-4″ are possible. TROPICS: No active storms and no areas of concern for now. Long-term signals beyond 7 days indicate the potential for some tropical activity over the Caribbean/Gulf/SW Atlantic. The next name is Dexter. St. Johns County firefighters respond to house fire that was possibly caused by lightning strike
St. Johns County Fire Rescue is responding to a house fire that was possibly caused by a lightning strike. It happened Friday evening in the 100 block of Willow Island Point in the Silverleaf subdivision. It's off St. Johns Parkway and south of County Road 210. SJCFR found the home 'heavily involved' with fire with flames coming from the roof. Firefighters confirmed that everyone got out of the house safely before they arrived. People are asked to avoid the area as crews are still on scene.
