Methodist Church praises Govt's financial aid, says it timely and inclusive
In a statement on Thursday (July 24), MCM Bishop Dr T. Jeyakumar said that while some may downplay the significance of the aid, it should not be overlooked that the government is making a major financial commitment to support its people.
"I am truly thankful for the announcement made by the Prime Minister," he said.
He praised the government's decision to make the assistance available to all Malaysians, regardless of race or religion.
"The amount may not be much, but at least the government is stepping in to help, rather than telling us to stay home and dip into our own EPF savings," he added.

State leaders laud 13MP as catalyst for inclusive, high impact development
KUALA LUMPUR: The 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) tabled by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in the Dewan Rakyat yesterday is expected to redesign the nation's economic and development landscape towards a more inclusive, sustainable and responsible future. In SELANGOR, Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari welcomed 13MP as a comprehensive plan that complemented existing state initiatives as well as uplifted communities. He said a key highlight was the development of Carey Port in Kuala Langat, expressing the state's readiness to cooperate with the federal government to expedite the project, which was set to alleviate congestion at Port Klang. Is EPF's income decline cause for concern?
COMMENT | When information is lacking, it is a sign that not all is right. Tanjong Karang MP Zulkafperi Hanapi, obviously piqued by a drop in the Employees Provident Fund's (EPF) income, asked in Parliament whether it was tied to its overseas assets. Good question.
