Aamir Khan finally breaks silence over his divorce from first wife Reena, reveals real reason
Bollywood's Mr. Perfectionist, Aamir Khan is in the news these days for his upcoming film Sitare Zameen Par. The film is releasing on 20 June 2025, meanwhile, Aamir Khan has talked about his personal life. The superstar has told that he married Reena Dutta in a hurry, which was a big mistake of his life.
Aamir Khan was asked on Raj Shamani's podcast what is the biggest mistake of his life. To this the superstar said- 'I have made many mistakes, not just one. But I think that it is because of those mistakes that I am what I am today, not only because of my success but also because of my mistakes.'
Aamir Khan further said- 'Now I will say one simple thing like this, Reena and I got married very early. I was 21 years old and she was 18-19 years old. In fact, the first day that was legally possible for me to get married was after turning 21, you have to give a month's notice. So 30 days go there. So when I turned 21 on March 14, after that there was a one-month's notice, so it becomes April 14. But Saturday-Sunday was coming. So, the first day on which the marriage of Reena and me was legally possible was April 18.'
The superstar further said- 'We got married on 18 April and we knew each other for only four months before that, and even in those four months we spent very little time with each other. We had a lot of love for each other, there was a lot of affection, that's why we got married. But today when I look back, I feel that you should take an important step like marriage after thinking carefully. At that time, in the excitement of youth, you don't understand many things. But later you realise.'
Aamir Khan said- 'However, I have had a very good life with Reena. So do not take it from this that Reena was wrong. This is not what I meant at all. Reena is an amazing person and we have grown up together in a way, because we were so young when we got married. Reena and I respect each other a lot and we have a lot of love for each other in our hearts. But I feel that no one should take such a big step so soon and in such a hurry at such a young age.'
Aamir Khan said about his girlfriend Gauri Spratt- We met by mistake and then we became friends and fell in love. Regarding his marriage with Gauri, he said- We can never be husband and wife. Regarding both his ex-wives, he said that even today he has a special bonding with both of them. Even today he respects both of them and has a good relationship with both of them.

'Sitaare Zameen Par' makers shares his opinion on marching of tech in cinema
Director R.S. Prasanna, who is awaiting the release of his upcoming film 'Sitaare Zameen Par', feels that human beings will soon catch up with the technological changes in filmmaking. The filmmaker spoke with IANS in the run-up to the release of his film, which features Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh. He recollected how he saw Indian cinema legend Kamal Haasan experimenting with a digital camera, Red Dragon. Speaking with IANS, Prasanna said, "I think the industry is pretty fast in adapting, like I remember when 35mm film was there and I was in film school and Kamal Haasan sir was testing the Red camera in our L.V. Prasad Film Institute, Chennai where I studied. He was doing a test shoot. I remember all the people around saying, 'it's just a fad and it'll not happen, it's not gonna happen', and it did". Aamir Khan's altered AI video hits cyberspace; 'Mr Perfectionist' issues clarification on 'endorsing' a particular political party The director said that one cannot stop the march of technology and one has to adapt. The audience will demand a change, the filmmakers will rise, the technological change will happen as it should, and experiments will keep happening, some will click, some will not. He further mentioned, "But I think one thing which will never change is the way our hearts beat, so as long as the heart is there in everything, the visual is only pixels, the sound is only decibels, but that feeling, that soul, that is, as long as we have a heart, stories told by humans will always be relevant". He then cited the example of romance as to how the shape or form of romance in cinematic storytelling has changed but the soul is the same. He shared, "If you see around yourself, romance has been there from early manage, they may say romance has changed, no romance has not changed, the medium has changed, today you call it situationship or anything else but, still the heart pains if you don't get to be with the person of your choice". "I feel unless genetically our heart changes or our mind changes, I think storytelling and emotions will be the same, the form will keep changing and we have to be on the awareness of that as a director, but I think for me as a filmmaker, I'm only looking for the soul, which I think soul is very old, so it won't change that fast", he added.
