Penny Lancaster has shared an "icing on the cake" moment she experienced in her huge blended family with megastar Sir Rod Stewart.
In conversation with Coleen Nolan on a recent episode of Loose Women: The Podcast, Penny opened up about her and the Maggie May singer's large blended family.
Rod shares eight children: Sarah, Kimberly, Sean, Ruby, Renee, Liam, Alastair Wallace and Aiden Patrick, with five mothers: Susannah Boffey, Alana Stewart, Rachel Hunter, and finally, his wife Penny.
With such a vast family, Coleen asked how she manages to "blend all that together." The 54-year-old said she didn't know "what it would be like" to be in a "divorce situation" and have her children on holiday with the "new wife."

She explained that if her children had been younger, and she had been in the same shoes as Rod's former partners, she may have had "more anxieties" about them going on holiday with the new wife, including someone else having "influence" over her kids, or making decisions that she may disagree with.
Yet, she "really did take into account" what it would have been like for the mum while she was around Rod's children, adding that she "could only imagine" how difficult it was for the children to have divorced parents.
Later on, Coleen followed up by asking if she would be able to handle the situation herself now that she's a mother. Penny responded: "Now my boys are older, I wouldn't have a problem with that at all.
"You know, my children, I made sure that they got to know Rachel and Kelly and Alana. And, you know, I'd go to see Liam's hockey game and Rachel would be there; my little boys would be there."
She added: "And I think the best gift of all is that Liam, Rachel's son, recently got married last summer, and he asked my son to be his best man, so, you know, that's kinda that icing on the cake."

In related news, a recent report shared details about Rod's luxurious dining choices, with the rocker tucking into three-course meals each evening. Opening up during an appearance on BBC Celebrity MasterChef in 2021, Penny revealed that he also has candles.
According to The Scottish Sun, when Penny and Rod first met, he had his own chef, meaning there "wasn't much need" for the Loose Women panellist to be in the kitchen.
She said: "Rod kind of likes the fine dining every evening, three-course dinners, candles, and it's kind of out of my league, so I do the kids' cooking but otherwise, not really au fait."
The 'Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?' singer, 80, has also been confirmed for the Legends slot at this year's Glastonbury Festival. It will be his first performance at the legendary music festival since 2002 when he headlined on the iconic Pyramid Stage.

Sue Cleaver reflects on '25 years of laughs' after Coronation Street exit

Eileen Grimshaw had a special send-off during Friday's episode of the soap, where she was seen leaving for Thailand alongside her son Jason Grimshaw, played by Ryan Thomas. Simon Gregson's character Steve McDonald, Tony Maudsley's George Shuttleworth, and Eileen's son Todd, played by Gareth Pierce, all said goodbye to the matriarch before drivers from the local taxi firm honked their horns as she was driven off. In an Instagram post, Cleaver said: 'Well… that's a wrap. 25 years of laughs, tears, costumes, chaos — and one unforgettable journey. A post shared by Sue Cleaver (@officialsuecleaver) 'I'll miss this character like crazy, but what a ride it's been. Thank you for every moment.' Cleaver has played the outspoken and uncomplicated Eileen in the ITV show since 2000. Eileen came to Weatherfield to work at the local taxi firm, Streetcars, to provide for her two tearaway teenage children, Jason and Todd. She soon became friends with her boss Steve and came into conflict with Helen Worth's character Gail Rodwell (also known as Gail Platt). Cleaver took part in I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2022, where she opened up about reconciling with her birth mother, and was eliminated third. She also said her family is 'bizarrely interconnected' to other Coronation Street stars, including Worth who is godmother to one of her half-sisters, while her other half-sister's husband, John Bowe, appeared on the cobbles as Duggie Ferguson. In 2024, she released a book A Work In Progress in which she discusses how she feels she is not past her prime. In recent years she has appeared as a panellist on ITV chat show Loose Women.
