Bryan Cranston relishes his Malcolm in the Middle return
Bryan Cranston "missed" his 'Malcolm in the Middle' character.
The 69-year-old actor has reprised the role of Hal, the family patriarch, to star in the 'Malcolm in the Middle' revival show, and Bryan has relished the experience of playing Hal once again.
The actor told People: "Slipping back into that character of Hal for me was so rewarding - I missed him.
"It's been almost 20 years since we said goodbye. And he's a sweet, lovable man. He's really a lovable guy, and it was fun to see all my whole family back together. It was great."
Most of the sitcom's original cast - including Jane Kaczmarek, Frankie Muniz, Christopher Masterson and Justin Berfield - have returned for the revival show.
And Bryan's on-screen costume has helped him to get back into character.
He explained: "It's a short-sleeve shirt that Hal would wear, a patterned short-sleeve shirt that screams out he's not going anywhere."
Bryan previously admitted that he'd jump at the chance to star in a 'Malcolm in the Middle' movie.
The actor loved working with his co-stars on the hit TV show - which originally ran from 2000 until 2006 - and he felt excited by the idea of appearing in a film.
He told E! News in 2023: "There was some talk about the possibility of doing like a reunion movie of 'Malcolm in the Middle'.
"We had such a great family on that and I certainly would be open to that if there was a good idea that came up like, 'Oh, that would be fantastic to explore what happened to this family 20 years later.' I can't believe it's already that, but that would be fun to do."
Meanwhile, Frankie Muniz previously revealed that he'd become a "fan" of 'Malcolm in the Middle' in recent years.
The 39-year-old actor - who played the show's central character - said: "When I was filming the show, I obviously was a kid.
"We did seven seasons, 151 episodes. I didn't really watch the show when it was on, but I've now since watched the show with my wife. We [watched] all 151 episodes, and I realised, 'Wow, that's what we were making.' I can separate myself from being on it and watching it as a fan."

Based on one of the most famous football boots of all time—Ronaldo's Nike Mercurial (1998) R9—the new Nike Cryoshot doesn't have an official release date yet, but has been teased here in two styles. The Nike Cryoshot in White is based on a version of the Nike Tiempo Legend VII R10 Elite FG, which was made popular by Cristiano Ronaldo. However, the one that has fans (and us) excited is the Cryoshot in Silver, Neon, and Blue, based on the football boot that changed the game forever, Ronaldo's Nike Mercurial R9 from 1998. Nike Cryoshot | Image: Supplied / Nike Nike hasn't shared a detailed press release for the new Cryoshot, but has stated that the shoe takes inspiration 'from the desire to honour and preserve Nike Football nostalgia and fast-forward it to the future.' What that seems to mean is a retro line of their greatest football cleats in sneaker form. While the #BootsOnlySummer trend sees fans swap out their sneakers for a pair of football cleats, the Nike Cryoshot goes one step further to address the issue of wearing studded boots off the grass. These Cryshot silhouettes have a translucent shell around the studs, which aids with wearability, grip, and comfort, but also gives the illusion that you're wearing boots off the pitch. We don't know when the Nike Cryoshot is releasing just yet, but expect a release date shortly. Nike will want to release the shoe before the sneaker-cleat hybrid trend ends!

Ashley Tisdale hopes daughter feels inspired by High School Musical
Ashley Tisdale wants her daughter to take inspiration from her 'High School Musical' character. The 39-year-old actress played Sharpay Evans in the money-spinning film franchise, and Ashley hopes that Jupiter, four, can take some inspiration from her on-screen character. Cutting ties with my dad was the best decision, says Kristin Cavallari
Kristin Cavallari doesn't regret cutting ties with her dad. The 38-year-old star decided to stop speaking to her dad, Dennis Cavallari, after he "crossed the boundary" with her kids, and Kristin now considers the move to be "the best decision [she's] ever made". She explained: "I was supposed to go on two dates, and I was like, 'You have to wait until after my podcast tour.'" Kristin is actually making a concerted effort to "stay out of headlines". Asked if she's been pursued by any "known people", Kristin replied: "These ones are. But, I mean, I'm trying to stay out of headlines while I'm on the podcast. Then after I'm going quiet."
