Pakistan Admits Over 50 Losses, Including Military Personnel, During Op Sindoor
Pakistan admitted to over 50 losses during India's military onslaught on May 9-10, including 13 military personnel. India and Pakistan exchanged four days of cross-border attacks.
More than three months after India launched precise airstrikes targeting terror infrastructure, Pakistan has admitted to heavy losses suffered in the military offensive from May 9-10. Pakistani authorities acknowledged that more than 50 citizens, including 13 military personnel, sources told CNN-News18.
Pakistan confirmed that Squadron Leader Usman Yousaf was killed during Operation Sindoor, when India attacked the Bholari airbase, by awarding him at the presidency. Several others were injured in India's strikes on Nur Khan, Sargodha, Jacobabad, Bholari and Shorkot.
Several reports also confirmed that American technicians were injured at the Nur Khan airbase during Operation Sindoor, according to sources. This information came to light during an annual awards ceremony at Pakistan's President House.
The awards were conferred to military personnel killed during Operation Sindoor by Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the President House on the occasion of the country's Independence Day on August 14.
Those personnel awarded the Tamgha-i-Basalat posthumously included Squadron Leader Usman Yousaf, Havaldar Muhammad Naveed, Naik Waqar Khalid and Lance Naik Dilawar Khan. The recipients of the Tamgha-i-Jurat included Naik Abdul Rehman, Lance Naik Ikramullah and Sepoy Adeel Akbar.
India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, bombing nine terrorist camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in pre-dawn strikes that killed at least 100 militants, in retaliation for a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam on April 22, in which 26 tourists were killed. The Resistance Front (TRF), a Lashkar offshoot, had claimed responsibility for the attack.

Russia's top economic envoy, Kirill Dmitriev, said the US received Russia 'very well" in Alaska and that the two countries would continue building relations despite 'resistance." 'The US-Russia summit in Alaska has definitely been productive," Dmitriev said according to CNN, adding that there were 'lots of issues that we discussed and many we agreed on".'Some of them are to be agreed and definitely it's very important that President Trump outlines a significant economic potential of cooperation between the US and Russia," said Dmitriev.'We will continue building US-Russia relations going forward despite lots of resistance to this, but we will continue strengthening US-Russia ties," he added, as per CNN. Will use power to serve people, not to settle scores with anyone: Revanth Reddy
Agency: PTI Hyderabad, Aug 16 (PTI) Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Saturday said he would like to use power for the welfare of people but not to settle a score with anyone. Speaking after releasing the book 'Hasita Bhashpalu' written by poet Ande Sri, he said his victory is enough to cause pain to those who troubled him in the past. The CM said some persons had told him that he could target those who caused him trouble as he is now in power. However, he replied that he does not see anyone as an enemy. Observing that he held the posts of Zilla Parishad member, MLC, MLA, MP in a span of 17 years (from 2006 to 2023) before assuming the role of chief minister, Reddy said he feels power should be used for the welfare of four crore Telangana people. Taking a veiled dig at BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao, he said some people claim to be agitationists (for Telangana statehood) but true agitationists never claim. From Cuban revolutionary Che Guevara to Ande Sri, those who truly fought for people lost their personal properties and their families remained neglected, he said. 'But, those who claim to be agitationists acquired TV channels, newspapers, farmhouses and investments of thousands of crores. But, still they claim to be agitationists," he said.
