Business Insider11 hours ago
As the cryptocurrency market shows signs of increased activity in the fourth quarter, Ethereum-based project Pepeto ($PEPETO) has surpassed $6.3 million in its ongoing presale. The project positions itself within the meme coin segment while incorporating utility-focused features aimed at broader ecosystem development.
Compared to more established assets such as XRP and Shiba Inu, emerging tokens like Pepeto are attracting attention due to their relatively small market capitalizations and early-stage development. Pepeto's tokenomics and supply structure are designed to allow for a wider range of potential growth scenarios, distinguishing it within the broader altcoin landscape.

Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte returns soon, when to get your PSL fix

Starbucks has announced the highly anticipated return date of the fall fan-favorite Pumpkin Spice Latte. When does Starbucks' Pumpkin Spice Latte come out? Consumer interest in the seasonal spice-laden lattes has spiked earlier than ever, according to Google Trends, which showed an uptick in searches starting in mid-June vs. mid-July in 2024. New fall menu items coming to Starbucks this PSL season With the unofficial start of fall at Starbucks coffeehouses come more returning favorites and a new selection of drinks and bites. First up is a new Pecan Oatmilk Cortado, a coffee drink with a 1:1 ratio of espresso to steamed milk, amplifying another nutty fall flavor. In keeping with the high-protein food trends, Starbucks has added another option to its already popular egg bites with a new Italian sausage version. Trump says Fed Governor Lisa Cook 'must resign' after William Pulte alleges mortgage fraud

President Donald Trump said on Truth Social Wednesday that Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook 'must resign, now!!!' Trump's comment came after the director of the U.S. Federal Housing Finance Agency, William Pulte, a sharp critic of the Fed, alleged in a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi that Cook 'falsified bank documents and property records to acquire more favorable loan terms, potentially committing mortgage fraud.' In the letter that Pulte called a 'criminal referral,' he said that his agency had obtained her mortgage documents and requested that the Justice Department review the matter. He further alleged that Cook falsified her 'residence statuses for an Ann Arbor, Michigan-based residence and an Atlanta, Georgia-based property.' Pulte's letter is the latest scrutiny over the mortgages of prominent Democratic figures, including Sen. Adam Schiff of California and New York Attorney General Letitia James. Speaking on CNBC, FHFA director Pulte said "it doesn't matter whether you're Fed Governor Cook or Joe Blow on the street, if you commit mortgage fraud, we are going to report it." The letter about Cook's mortgages ratchets up the administration's pressure on the Federal Reserve to lower interest rates. Pulte has posted on social media dozens of times calling on Fed Chair Jerome Powell to resign or lower rates, and he attended Trump's recent tour of the Federal Reserve's headquarters renovation. Asked about his fierce criticism of the central bank in the CNBC interview, Pulte said that was a "separate matter" but then said that "Jay Powell has a chance to do the right thing by the law" with regard to Governor Cook. Powell does not have the authority to remove a governor. Pulte added, "we'll see" if Powell knew about Cook's mortgages. Cook has a permanent vote on the central bank's rate-setting committee and was appointed by President Joe Biden to a term running until 2038. Before joining the Fed, Cook was a professor of economics at Michigan State University. Cook, a graduate of Spelman College and Oxford University, is regarded in the economics field as a trailblazer. She is the first Black woman to serve on the Federal Reserve board in the U.S. central bank's more than 100-year history. The Federal Reserve declined to comment on Trump's post Wednesday. The Justice Department and FHFA did not immediately respond to requests for comments. This article was originally published on

Is Wawa rival Sheetz pushing into Southeastern Pennsylvania?

Could convenience store Sheetz, dominant in central and western Pennsylvania, dare to push into Wawa territory? Already approaching Bucks County from the north with a handful of Lehigh County spots, the Altoona-based convenience chain, beloved for its touchscreen-order burgers, fries and 'MTO' snacks, is redeveloping a shuttered Rite Aid in Downingtown, Chester County. The planned 6,100-square-foot store will feature a drive-thru, indoor seating, 45 parking spaces and a dozen multi-fuel gas pumps. Located at the busy intersection of East Lincoln Highway and Bondsville Road, the site sits diagonally across from a Wawa, setting up yet another face-off between the two regional rivals. Newtown Wawa opens: New Wawa along the Newtown Bypass is a first-of-its-kind in PA. Here's what's different. Buc-ee's moving in? Will Buc-ee's ever come to Pennsylvania? Here's what we know as new Buc-ee's head north Sheetz has been expanding east from its western Pennsylvania roots, but it has largely avoided Philadelphia, Bucks, Montgomery and Delaware counties, long considered solid Wawa territory. Wawa is of course headquartered in Wawa, Pa., in Delaware County. The Downingtown location marks another step into that turf, continuing a pattern already seen in Lancaster, Berks and Lehigh counties.
