Experienced Goa not underestimating young Bagan; Mumbai takes on Jamshedpur
A young Mohun Bagan Super Giant side will look to book its spot in the Super Cup 2025 title clash when it takes on FC Goa in the semifinal at the Kalinga Stadium on Wednesday.
The absence of key players did not affect MBSG, which defeated a strong Kerala Blasters side in the quarterfinals. Goa, on the other hand, relied on two late goals to secure a 2-1 comeback win over Punjab FC.
Despite the vast difference in the experience and strength of the squads, Goa coach Manolo Marquez remained cautious about his opponent.
'I think that the game will be very difficult because they have nothing to lose,' said Marquez during the pre-match press conference.
'This is the reality. They have already won two trophies and have secured a slot for the continental competition. Honestly, I would like to be in Mohun Bagan's position,' he added with a smile.

Later in the day, a resurgent Mumbai City FC will take on Jamshedpur FC in the second semifinal.
Both teams had to earn hard-fought wins in the last-eight stage. While MCFC edged I-League side Inter Kashi 1-0, JFC needed a bit of fortune to beat NorthEast United FC on penalties.
'JFC is a very good team. They finished the season strong and are having a good tournament now as well,' MCFC head coach Petr Kratky said.
'But we are ready to try and stop them from getting many chances. If we defend well and execute what we need to execute, then I am confident of getting a positive result,' he added.

AC Milan fires Conceicao, Allegri reportedly set to return as coach
AC Milan fired Sergio Conceicao as expected on Thursday following a disappointing season that saw the Rossoneri fail to qualify for Europe. When Lionel Messi fought with Luis Enrique, ‘a period of tension'
On May 31, Luis Enrique will coach PSG in the Champions League final in Munich against Inter Milan, but he took time out to rewind to his days with Barcelona, in particular a fight with Lionel Messi. In the recent past, in 2022, Messi too has spoken about that phase. 'I had a special relationship with Luis Enrique. When he decided to leave, we tried to convince him to stay until the very end because we were still doing well. In 2015 January he benched me and there was a conflict, but it got resolved and we had a fantastic relationship,' Messi said. Under Enrique's leadership, Barca won two league titles, two Copa del Rey triumphs, a win at the Super Cup, and a Champions League title. 'Today I can only speak highly of Leo Messi,' says Luis Enrique, who left Barça with an 80.29 percent effectiveness rate: 'A beastly season.'

Marquez names 28-member squad for men's Indian football team
The National coach Manolo Marquez announced a squad of 28 players who will be part of the upcoming international engagements of the senior men's Indian football team. India will be taking on Thailand in an international friendly on June 4 before travelling to Hong Kong to play the second group league match (group C) of final round AFC Asian Cup qualifiers on June 10.
