Mint15-06-2025
Netflix has confirmed that 'My Next Guest Needs No Introduction With David Letterman' will return for two more seasons. The popular interview series, known for its thoughtful one-on-one conversations, will debut Season 6 later this year.
Season 7 is also in the works, marking a strong continuation for the show which first launched in 2018.
Since its debut, the series has aired five seasons and three special episodes, totalling 27 episodes. Each episode features an in-depth interview with a high-profile guest, often including travel segments where Letterman visits his subjects at meaningful locations.
Letterman, who retired from his late-night TV career in 2015 after more than three decades on 'Late Night' (NBC) and 'The Late Show' (CBS), returned to the spotlight with this Netflix series. It has been praised for its slower pace, rich conversations, and reflective tone.
Over the years, the programme has hosted major names such as Barack Obama, Jay-Z, Billie Eilish, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The most recent season, which aired between 2024 and 2025, included guests like Miley Cyrus, Charles Barkley, and rising basketball star Caitlin Clark.
The show has earned six Emmy nominations and won in 2024 for its special episode featuring comedian John Mulaney.
'My Next Guest' is produced by Jax Media, Imagine Entertainment, and Worldwide Pants, Inc. Executive producers include Tom Keaney, Mary Barclay, Justin Wilkes, Yolanda T. Cochran, and Séamus Murphy-Mitchell.
With two new seasons confirmed, fans can expect more honest and wide-ranging conversations from the legendary host.

Though an official confirmation from Yash Raj Films is still awaited, YRF's casting director Shanoo Sharma added fuel to the speculation by resharing a report on her Instagram stories, which claims the movie will indeed arrive on Netflix next month. A screengrab of Shanoo Sharma's Instagram Story. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Shanoo Sharma shared insights into Ahaan Panday's early training under the YRF banner. She revealed that both Ahaan and Sharvari (who debuted in Bunty Aur Babli 2 in 2021) underwent intense acting workshops before their respective debuts. 'The first three years went into training. We trained, and we trained. Sharvari was also on that bandwagon. We got them to do improvisations and scenes—over and over again. I was training them personally.' She also revealed that during the COVID-19 pandemic, when everything slowed down, Ahaan didn't sit idle. He joined the production team of The Railway Men as an Assistant Director, gaining valuable on-ground experience before stepping into the spotlight with Saiyaara. Saiyaara smashing box-office Saiyaara has turned out to be a blockbuster, earning around ₹517 crore worldwide. Backed by Yash Raj Films, the romantic drama has struck a chord with audiences across age groups, thanks to its heartfelt storytelling and fresh performances. Domestically, the film has collected approximately ₹373 crore, while overseas markets have contributed around ₹144 crore—making it one of the biggest hits of the year. The strong word of mouth and youth appeal have kept the film running steadily at the box office.

Saiyaara OTT release: When and where to watch Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda's hit film online

Saiyaara is enjoying an exceptional run at the box office, and now, even before its theatrical journey concludes, the makers seem to have locked its OTT debut date. According to reports, the Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda romantic musical will drop on Netflix this September. While there has been no official announcement, YRF's casting director Shanoo Sharma shared a story on her social media that backs the buzz. She reshared a post from OTTFLIX claiming that Saiyaara will stream on Netflix on September 12, 2025, a move that has all but confirmed the release. Still holding strong despite new releases Even with fresh titles like Ajay Devgn's Son of Sardaar 2 and Triptii Dimri–Siddhant Chaturvedi's Dhadak 2 hitting theaters, Saiyaara remains rock solid at the box office. Written by Rohan Shankar and Sankalp Sadanah, the film features notable performances from Geeta Agrawal Sharma, Sid Makkar, Shaad Randhawa, Rajesh Kumar, and Varun Badola. It also marks the first collaboration between filmmaker Mohit Suri and Yash Raj Films . 03:03 'Saiyaara' star Ahaan's mother pens a heartfelt note for him, special thanks for Mohit Suri Inches away from surpassing Salman Khan's 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' After 24 days in cinemas, Saiyaara has amassed an impressive Rs 318 crore in India net collections. That puts it just Rs 2.34 crore shy of overtaking Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan (Rs 320.34 crore) to claim the 14th spot among the highest-grossing Hindi films of all time. The milestone would not only displace a beloved Salman Khan blockbuster to 15th place but also cement Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda as two of Bollywood's most promising new talents. With its current pace, industry trackers expect Saiyaara to achieve the feat before the big Independence Day clash between Rajinikanth's Coolie and Hrithik Roshan–Jr NTR's War 2 on August 14.

Adequate security provided to Kapil Sharma: Mumbai Police after firing outside Canada cafe

The Mumbai police on Monday said that following the two incidents of firings outside comedian Kapil Sharma's restaurant in Canada's Surrey last month, they have provided 'adequate security' to him. When asked about the security provided to the comedian, a senior official from the Mumbai police said, 'Adequate security has been provided to him.' When asked if Sharma had given any official complaint to the Mumbai police, the official replied in negative. Soon after the firing, a social media message had been put up by an account in the name of Goldy Dhillon that had the display picture of incarcerated gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. In the message, the person claimed that Goldy Dhillon from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang was taking the responsibility for the attack. The first attack at the comedian's newly opened Kap's Cafe took place on July 10 when nearly 10 rounds were fired. No one was injured. A day after the attack, a person claiming to be a member of Lawrence Bishnoi gang issued a warning that actors, producers and directors working with Salman Khan will not be spared. Sharma is suspected to have been targeted by the gang as he is known to share close ties with actor Salman Khan who appeared in the first episode of the Kapil Sharma's Netflix show's third season. Salman has been on the radar of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang for allegedly shooting down a blackbuck during a film shooting in Rajasthan in 1998. Blackbuck is considered to be sacred by the Bishnoi community. The actor has been given high security since April 14 last year when a few rounds were fired outside his Bandra residence.
