Maryland restaurant reopens following celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay's filming

CBS News19-03-2025

A Harford County restaurant reopened last weekend following a visit and makeover
by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.
MacGregor's Restaurant and Tavern posted on social media on Saturday, March 15, that it is "looking forward to sharing all of our exciting changes with you."
Ramsay, the popular TV host of Hell's Kitchen, MasterChef, and Gordon Ramsay's Food Stars, among other shows, brought his film crew to the downtown Havre De Grace staple for several days.
WJZ caught Ramsay going in and out of the restaurant a few times.
A crew member told WJZ they were filming a pilot episode for a new show that will air on a streaming service.
Fans waited outside MacGregor's hoping to see, and possibly meet, the fiery chef Gordon Ramsay.
"We're all big fans of Gordon Ramsay," visitor Vincent Krijewski said.
"My son is like Gordon Ramsay's No. 1 fan, and so we had to come down today just to see if we could get a glimpse because it was on his bucket list to do," Harford County resident Amy Osier said.
Harford County, and MacGregor's, scored big with the exposure, and just knowing a celebrity was in their backyard.
"With the production of this show, and with Mr. Ramsay being in town, we see this as a great opportunity to attract more restaurants to the downtown, to attract more businesses in general, and of course to attract visitors," said Bridgette Johnson, the Director of Economic Development and Tourism for Havre de Grace.

Free Streaming Service Zone-ify Offers Video Games Via TV Remote In An AVOD First

EXCLUSIVE: After staging a tariff-inspired U.S.-vs.-Canada wrestling event last month, free streaming platform Zone-ify is rolling out a feature enabling viewers to play video games via their TV remote. The Toronto-based company says it is the first native gaming offering by an AVOD service. Through a partnership with interactive technology firm ES3, a dozen game titles are packaged with the core TV experience, without requiring downloads, consoles or mobile devices. The strategy is similar to where Netflix is going in subscription streaming, with a mobile-only game offering set to expand to the living-room app in the next year or two. Rowling Says & More At launch, the games will be available through U.S. pay-TV providers Comcast Xfinity, Cox Contour, Buckeye Cable, DirecTV U-verse and Rogers Xfinity and Videotron Helix in Canada. Connected TV and smart-TV platforms Amazon Fire TV, Android TV and Google TV (on Sony, TCL and Hisense sets). The gaming component will launch soon on Roku, Apple TV, Samsung, LG and Vizio, Zone-ify said. Now available in 16 million pay-TV homes and 422 million consumer devices, Zone-ify saw a lift from last month's wrestling event. Dubbed the 'Border Brawl,' it boosted live watch time 13 times over average levels, the company said, without specifying the number of viewers. The addition of games means that the company is 'not just a streaming service anymore – we're a full-scale entertainment platform,' Zone-ify President Doug Edwards said. 'We are evolving into a destination for watching, playing, and engaging – all in one place.' The company has plans to rapidly expand its game catalog and offer customized titles for advertisers and sponsors. Zone-ify's news came on the opening day of the Stream TV Show in Denver. Executives from Amazon, Tubi, Warner Bros. Discovery, NBCUniversal and other companies are taking part in panel discussions through Friday. ‘Gordon Ramsay's Secret Service' Heats Up Fox's Summer Slate With Another Unscripted Hit, Growing Audience 27% Since Debut & Continuing Network's No. 1 Momentum With 18-49 Demo

EXCLUSIVE: Fox has lit a fire under its summer primetime lineup with the debut of yet another offering from chef Gordon Ramsay. Gordon Ramsay's Secret Service launched May 21 as the network's most-streamed unscripted summer debut on record. Since then, the audience has continued to grow, with Episode 3 posting a 27% gain in total viewers over the premiere, per live + same-day Nielsen data. More from Deadline 'Ginny & Georgia' Season 3 Debuts At No. 1 On Netflix TV Charts, Boosting Entire Series Back Into Top 10 'Harry Potter' TV Series Due To Hit HBO In 2026: Everything We Know About The Cast, Who's Creating It, What J.K. Rowling Says & More Felicity Huffman Joins Fox's 'Doc' For Season 2 The series has also seen 21% growth among adults 18-49, which remains an important (and increasingly difficult) demographic to target on television. Ramsay has now set a personal record as well, starring in more currently airing shows than any TV personality in history, Fox says. With the additions of Secret Service and next season's holiday show Next Level Baker, that brings Ramsay to eight concurrent shows on the Fox slate. Fox ended the 2024-25 broadcast season on a promising note, averaging a 0.75 rating among adults 18-49 in live + 7-day measurements. The network outranked its broadcast competitors in that respect. Ramsay helped lead Fox to that victory with three of the highest-rated and most-watched cooking shows on television: Hell's Kitchen (with 2.5M average viewers per episode), Kitchen Nightmare (averaging 2.2M viewers per episode) and Next Level Chef (cooking up 2.5M viewers per episode). However, the prolific chef didn't act alone. There is, of course, the network's stalwart competition series The Masked Singer, which delivered its highest-rated and most-watched episode in more than two years this season. Deadline can exclusively reveal that The Masked Singer also managed its most-streamed episode to-date in Season 13, gathering 549,000 viewers in seven days across Hulu and Fox's unscripted lineup is also supplemented by Rob Lowe's The Floor, which became the first game show ever to have a telecast rank as the top entertainment series telecast of the season among the 18-49 demo. Extracted also started off strong, earning broadcast's highest-rated unscripted series debut in nearly a year. There's also Fox's scripted slate, which has undergone some fine tuning recently. Several recurring series were cancelled recently as the network tries to find its scripted identity — and it looks like there might be some answers the breakout medical drama Doc, which is returning in the fall with a rare and impressive 22-episode order. The premiere episode of Doc has now tallied 18M viewers to-date, per Fox, making it the network's most-watched debut episode across all platforms in five years. It also posted 40% growth among adults 18-49 from the premiere to the finale, the strongest of any Fox series in a decade. Episodes of Doc are currently averaging around 8M multi-platform viewers, which makes it one of the highest performing broadcast series on television right now. While most scripted content is on hiatus, it seems audiences are taking the opportunity to tune into some of Fox's lighter summer fare. In addition to the newcomers mentioned above, Fox's established performers like MasterChef and Lego Masters have also posted week-over-week gains. If they're lucky, Fox can ride that wave of audience engagement right into the fall. ‘Ginny & Georgia' Season 3 Debuts At No. 1 On Netflix TV Charts, Boosting Entire Series Back Into Top 10

Ginny & Georgia has returned to the Netflix Top 10 with ease, with Season 3 putting up 17.6M views in its debut weekend. That was good enough to boost the new episodes to No. 1 in English-language TV for the week of June 2 to 8. It wasn't alone on the charts, though, as Season 1 also charted at No. 6 with 3M views and Season 2 made an appearance at No. 9 with 2.5M views. The second season debuted to 180.47M hours viewed, which roughly translates to about 18M views by Netflix's new measurement standards. Second place went to the UK crime thriller Dept. Q with 8.9m views, while Sirens took third with 7.9M. Most of the action took place on the film side of things. Nonnas also remained on the English Film list, this week at No. 5, with another 3.2M views.
