Imad Benmoussa Steps in as New Enactus Morocco President
Doha – Former Coca-Cola France President and digital entrepreneur Imad Benmoussa has been appointed President of Enactus Morocco, succeeding Majid Kaissar El Ghaib who served the organization for fifteen years.
Benmoussa brings over 25 years of multinational corporate experience to the role, having served as President of Coca-Cola France and Vice-President for North Africa. He is also the founder of Apex Ventures, Angel Investor, and co-founder of Welovebuzz, one of Morocco's digital media platforms.
'I am honored to take the reins of Enactus Morocco. I have always believed in the entrepreneurial potential of young Moroccans,' Benmoussa said in a statement.
'I remain convinced of the enhanced synergies between the private sector, public sector, and academia to stimulate innovation and social entrepreneurship and build a sustainable and inclusive future for our Kingdom,' he added.

Under his presidency, Enactus Morocco will focus on three strategic axes: strengthening partnerships with leading companies for sustainable development programs, collaborating with national and international institutions to amplify entrepreneurial initiatives, and integrating social entrepreneurship into university curricula.
Since its establishment in 2003, Enactus Morocco has emerged as a key player in social entrepreneurship, training over 12,000 young people and supporting approximately 600 high-impact projects annually. The organization maintains 142 hubs across all 12 regions of Morocco.
Earlier this month, Enactus Morocco hosted its National Social Entrepreneurship Seminar (SNES 2025) in Rabat, drawing more than 700 young leaders from across the country. The event featured workshops on artificial intelligence and social innovation, alongside networking sessions with industry experts.
The organization also recently celebrated a major achievement at the 2024 Enactus World Cup in Kazakhstan, where the team from Mohammadia School of Engineers (EMI) secured the global Vice-Champion title, competing against over 2,000 universities from the Enactus network. 'From today onward, we will work together bilaterally, regionally, and internationally, grounding our relations in this strategic partnership.' Bourita described the moment as 'one of great significance, if not historic,' explaining that it coincided with the fifth session of the Morocco–UK Strategic Dialogue, a platform he said would open a 'new phase in our relations.' Moreover, Lammy acknowledged the weight of the Western Sahara issue for Rabat, affirming London's understanding of its historical and political significance. 'The UK knows how important the Western Sahara is to Morocco,' he said, stressing the need to move toward a final settlement. 'The time for a resolution is long overdue. Morocco's Diaspora Remittances Drop 3.7% By April Compared to Same Period in 2024
Rabat – Latest statistics from the Exchange Office reported that the remittances from the Moroccan diaspora dropped by 3.7%, amounting to a drop of MAD 1.37 billion ($148.25 million) by April compared to the same period last year. The Exchange Office said remittances reached MAD 35.9 billion ($3.88 billion) by the end of April compared to MAD 37.27 billion ($4 billion) over the same period over the same period last year. Money transfers are important for Morocco's economic growth, and King Mohammed VI has also been calling for efforts to facilitate the diaspora's administrative procedures and needs. 'I have decided that mechanisms used in managing the affairs of Moroccans residing abroad should be revisited,' the King said in November of last year. Last year, remittances reached over $11.7 billion, representing an increase of 2.1% compared to 2023. Several reports have highlighted the importance of Morocco as one of the largest recipients of remittances in the Middle East and North Africa region after Egypt. The World Bank described Morocco as the second-largest recipient of remittances following Egypt.
