Renee Rapp hates being 'disrespected' by fans
The 25-year-old singer/actress was recently chased into an elevator by a group of rowdy followers when she was in the UK with her girlfriend Towa Bird and she admits it was a terrible experience which left her feeling very "upset".
Renee told the Guardian newspaper: "To be honest, I kept my head down ... People running after you, into a f****** elevator bank – it's such weird behaviour.
"I was so p*****, I was so upset. I was like: 'You don't get to chase my girlfriend and me – that's not fine'.'
However, Renee accepts that she has to deal with unwanted attention by choosing a job in the public eye.
She added: "I don't like to be disrespected, but I also understand that I've signed up for this s***, to an extent."
In the interview, Renee credited her parents with instilling her with accountability and a strong work ethic which has served her well within the entertainment industry.
She said: "I have phenomenal parents. They were just always like: 'Be accountable to yourself, to your friends, to people you don't know ...' There's no shame in being wrong, necessarily ... [What matter is being able to] look in the mirror."
It comes after Renee - who starred in the 2024 Mean Girls movie and previously played Regina George in the Broadway musical based on the film - revealed her mom intentionally gave her a "pop star name" because she thought adding some "alliteration" could influence her daughter's long-term future.
Speaking to Amy Poehler on the Good Hang podcast, Renee said of her name: "My mom chose my first and last name to be, well, okay, arguably chose my first and last name to both have [two letter R's].
"She was like, 'Alliteration, just in case she wants to be a pop star' before I was born."
However, Renee insisted she is now thankful that her mom was so considered in her decision-making. She added: "I'm like, 'Thank you, God.'"
Amy then replied: "She gave you a pop star name just in case, because Renee Rapp is a huge pop star name."

Ozzy died on Tuesday (22.07.25) at the age of 76 just two weeks after he reunited with his Black Sabbath bandmates for their big Back To The Beginning concert in their hometown of Birmingham, England - and Lita says the rocker went out "like a king". She added: "Whether he could stand up and walk or not, he still delivered the songs, and the band killed it. I hate to say it, but it's kind of the way to go: like a king. They call him the Prince of Darkness, but maybe he's a bit bigger than that now."

Renee Rapp felt "really, really, really depressed" in 2024. The 25-year-old singer enjoyed huge success last year, when she toured Europe and achieved the biggest hit of her career with Not My Fault - but Renee then felt the weight of fan expectations. Speaking to the BBC, Renee - who is dating singer Towa Bird - explained: "I was told that, basically, everybody wanted me to put a single out in the summer and an album in the fall. "I started panicking. I was like, 'Holy crap, how am I gonna do that?', because I was really, really, really depressed last year. I was so overworked, and I was so run down. I didn't have any time to get myself together. "I was crying to my girlfriend about it, like, 'I have no idea how I'm going to do this'. And she was literally like, 'You don't have to, and, by the way, you shouldn't.'" Renee ultimately opted to return to work because she suffers from career insecurity, in spite of her fame and success. The singer said: "I was like, 'This is what somebody's asking of me, so I can't not fulfil that, because that means I'm not working hard enough, and that means I don't want it enough'." Renee rose to prominence as Regina George in the Mean Girls Broadway musical. But the singer has had to adapt in order to become a success in the music industry. Renee - who also played Regina in the 2024 Mean Girls movie - explained: "Being a theatre girl, transitioning to pop music can be really difficult. "You go from singing your guts out, to trying to tailor that voice and that volume to a studio setting. "It was really hard for me, working out how to give the same quality of performance, but also pulling back 5,000 per cent. "But I realised that if I want to have a really successful pop career, I have to make music that doesn't use the same parts of my voice that I use live."

Ozzy Osbourne predicted he would 'die a happy man' after farewell gig
Ozzy Osbourne declared he would "die a happy man" if he "dropped down dead" away after a farewell gig. The Black Sabbath star passed away on Tuesday (22.07.25) just two weeks after he got the band back together for a huge final show in their hometown of Birmingham, England - and he previously predicted he would be satisfied to if he managed to play one final concert celebrating his life. Speaking to Rolling Stone magazine in 2023, Ozzy predicted: "I just want to be well enough to do one show where I can say: 'Hi guys, thanks so much for my life'. "That's what I'm working towards, and if I drop down dead at the end of it, I'll die a happy man." Ozzy's interview with Rolling Stone came before he had finalised plans for the Back to the Beginning show, which reunited him with his Black Sabbath bandmates Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward for one final show before stepping away from performing for good. The veteran rocker suffered a number of health setbacks over the years including spinal issues relating to a quad bike crash in 2003 and injuries from a subsequent fall, infections and a Parkinson's disease diagnosis. He also previously revealed his wife Sharon came up with the idea for the Black Sabbath reunion gig as a way of cheering him up after his health issues started to get him down. He told the Guardian newspaper: "You wake up the next morning and find that something else has gone wrong. You begin to think this is never going to end. "Sharon could see that I was in Doom Town, and she says to me: 'I've got an idea.' It was something to give me a reason to get up in the morning.' "I thought: 'Oh, f****** hell, she's got an idea. Here we go." News of his death was confirmed by his family on Tuesday in a statement which read: "It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. "We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis."
