'Obviously, on pain of death can I talk about that episode, but not being her mother-in-law is a role that I am glad that I lost,' she said as the audience reacted in surprise. 'Not that I have anything against her at all,' she added. 'It was just — it was tricky.'
She went on to add, 'She — listen, you're not allowed to say anything, and then she writes a whole album about it.' Ouch. Welch also added that her son, 'is very happy with his amazing fiancée Gabriella, who is gorgeous,' she said, in reference to model Gabbriette. 'So, we've moved on.'
But how does Swift feel about it? According to the Daily Mail, 'It's a bit obnoxious in Taylor's eyes, but she has to take the high road. If there was anything that would be in a future song of Taylor's—if she were ever to respond—she would respond that way. But as of right now, she might just let it slide. She is not going to let Denise ruin her day.'
The source also added that, 'Taylor respected Denise and will continue to do so, as this will go away very quickly. But if Denise continues to talk about it and bash Taylor, then Taylor would say something. The ball is still in Denise's court to see if she wants to continue the narrative she brought upon herself.'
Denise's comments might be explained by a new report that says Swift broke Healy's heart, not the other way around. 'It's a horrible thing to have the most famous person in the world saying that your son broke her heart when it was the other way around, and then you can't even defend yourself,' a source told Us Weekly.
The source added, 'She's saying the mother-in-law stuff because that's where Matty thought it was headed. She's entitled to her opinion.'
'Any mum can imagine what it would feel like — but then you have to multiply it by a million because of how famous [Taylor] is,' the source also said, explaining that Welch 'is still Matty's mum at the end of the day, and it was bloody hard for her to stay quiet during the whole ordeal.'
She's not quiet now. Swift, however, still is. We shall see how long that remains the case, or if we'll hear about it in a new song. It's great catharsis, after all.

Taylor Swift May Have Dropped Super Bowl 2026 Halftime Show Easter Egg
Originally appeared on E! Online Taylor Swift may be masterminding her very first Super Bowl halftime show performance. At least, that's what Swifties believe after picking up on several seemingly cryptic comments from the "Karma" singer's Aug. 13 appearance on her boyfriend Travis Kelce's New Heights podcast. First, there was that conversation about Taylor's love of baking, during which she quipped, "I'm really talking about bread 60 percent of the time now." Though it seemed like a surface remark about her favorite pastime, many fans think that was actually an Easter egg about the upcoming 60th Super Bowl in 2026, which will take place at the San Francisco 49ers' home turf at Levi's Stadium. And if that didn't begin to raise eyebrows, Taylor then went into detail making sourdough bread, which some theorized was a hint about the 49ers' mascot Sourdough Sam. "We're very deep into a sourdough obsession that had taken over my life," she shared during the interview, adding that Travis asked her earlier this summer to send him "two loaves of sourdough" while he was training with the Kansas City Chiefs—who defeated the 49ers at the 2019 and 2024 Super Bowls. Online Jason Kelce Gets Emotional Over Taylor Swift's Adorable Comment About Travis Kelce Bryan Kohberger Said Kaylee Goncalves' Name During Idaho Murders, Police Documents Reveal Sophie Turner Details "Vile" Kiss With Game of Thrones Costar Kit Harington Another potential Super Bowl Easter egg? Taylor thanking Travis' brother and co-host Jason Kelce for "screaming for 47 seconds" during her introduction on the podcast. While technically that number is a little off from the 49ers, Swifties online pointed out that her 47th stop on her Eras Tour show was at—you guessed it—Levi's Stadium. She also mentioned the number 47 when quipping that she performed in 47,000 countries during the Eras Tour. And, as Taylor even admitted on the show, she often uses numbers in her Easter eggs. "I love numerology. I love math stuff. I love dates," the 35-year-old shared. "That stuff, I find really fun." Taylor continued, "I want Easter eggs to be a certain thing, where if you are a part of the fandom and you want to experience music in a normal way, then you don't even see these. You don't even care what that thing is." But for those who do like decoding Easter eggs, she added, "For me, that's really fun because they find it fun."
