Olympique de Marseille have taken disciplinary action against Adrien Rabiot (29) and Jonathan Rowe (21) following a heated altercation after Friday night's 1-0 defeat away to Rennes in the Ligue 1 season opener, according to a report from .
The pair clashed in a tense dressing room atmosphere, reportedly going head-to-head as teammates and staff attempted to intervene. The verbal exchange escalated into threats, which pushed the club's hierarchy to step in.
As a consequence, both Rabiot and Rowe have been temporarily excluded from the first-team squad. While the suspension is not expected to last long, OM's leadership wanted to send a clear message that such behaviour will not be tolerated.
Marseille could also ask the two players to make a donation to the club's foundation as a gesture of reconciliation. For now, the pair are set to miss training at La Commanderie on Monday afternoon as the rest of the squad reconvenes.

Report – France Starlet To Stay At Monaco Amid Inter Milan Passive Approach

Sought-after forward Maghnes Akliouche will reportedly stay at Monaco as Inter Milan failed to concretize their interest. According to L'Equipe via FCInterNews, the 23-year-old is on the verge of spending another season at Stade Louis II. Maghnes Akliouche was on the scoresheet as Monaco thrashed Le Havre 3-1 in their opening 2025/26 Ligue 1 outing. However, it will not be his last appearance for Les Monégasques. Indeed, the versatile forward remains firmly in Adi Hutter's plans for this season. Yet, the French club's prohibitive €70 million asking price has deterred the Nerazzurri from entering further discussions. Furthermore, Monaco's demands have put off even Premier League giants Manchester City. Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain had considered Akliouche as a potential replacement for Kang-in Lee. However, after failing to offload the South Korean winger, they've dropped their interest in the Frenchman. On the other hand, Inter will skip signing a new forward in the final days of the transfer window.

Ivan Zazzaroni Weighs In On Rumors Linking Marseille Midfielder With Inter Milan Move: 'A Profile They Like A Lot'

Ivan Zazzaroni has taken stock of recent rumors linking Marseille midfielder Adrien Rabiot with a move to Inter Milan. According to Zazzaroni via FCInterNews, the San Siro giants appreciate the Frenchman's qualities. Despite failing to sign Adrien Rabiot as a free agent last summer, Inter could land the 30-year-old now. Indeed, the former Juventus star is keen to leave Stade Velodrome after falling out with several teammates. Furthermore, his mother-agent, Veronique, has already started offering his services to other European clubs. In the meantime, the Serie A runners-up are on the lookout for a new midfielder. After failing to land Manu Kone, they've started exploring other options. Meanwhile, Zazzaroni believes the Nerazzurri may be enthusiastic about signing the French ace. 'Adrien must leave Marseille after a quarrel with some teammates,' he claimed. 'He's a profile Inter like a lot, though the club hasn't yet spoken with the player's mother. 'Careful, we're only at the level of suggestion here… PS. Rabiot's mother isn't answering anyone.' Rabiot possesses an undeniable quality, not to mention a wealth of experience in Serie A. However, he is already 30 years old, which doesn't comply with Oaktree's new transfer policy. Therefore, it's hard to predict what's going to happen.

Agent Of Marseille & France Midfielder Comments On His Future Amid Inter Milan Links: 'We Will Evaluate Offers From Serie A'

Marseille midfielder Adrien Rabiot could return to Serie A after his representatives offered him to Inter Milan. Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, Rabiot's mother-agent Veronique delivered a verdict on her son's future. Despite joining Marseille only last summer, Adrien Rabiot could already be on his way back to Italy. Indeed, the former Juventus star has grown frustrated with life at Stade Velodrome. Following a heated discussion with his teammate, Jonathan Rowe, Rabiot has expressed his desire to leave. Although Roberto De Zerbi sidelined Rowe, the 30-year-old remains keen on severing ties with Marseille. Meanwhile, his entourage has offered his services to Inter. The Nerazzurri refused to sign the Frenchman last summer when his contract at Juventus expired. As it stands, Inter's stance has not changed as they seem unwilling to seize this opportunity. On the other hand, his mother confirms his decision to find a new club. (Photo by) Veronique admitted they will entertain offers from Serie A. However, she left the door open to a potential switch to the Premier League and La Liga. 'From now on, we will only consider serious projects coming from Italy, Spain, and England,' she said. Furthermore, she also dismissed De Zerbi's recent claim that Rabiot had shown unprofessional behavior. 'It came as a shock, because disagreements between players do happen. 'In any case, Italy shouldn't be ruled out, alongside the projects of top clubs in Spain and England,' said the mother-agent. Rabiot has emerged as one of the potential midfield targets for Inter. However, the Italian giants prefer a younger alternative, with Rennes starlet Djaoui Cisse ranking high on their list.
