Where Alabama sits in USA TODAY Sports' Coaches Poll following series win vs. Georgia
Throughout the 2025 season, the Alabama Crimson Tide likely haven't had any bigger results than what took place this past Sunday afternoon inside of Sewell-Thomas Stadium.
After dropping Game 1 of a big series Friday night against Georgia in Tuscaloosa, 19-3, Alabama bounced back in a significant way Sunday to take the series, sweeping both Games 2 and 3. As a result, the Crimson Tide improved their chances to potentially host a regional in the coming weeks, picking up a series win over a Top 10 ranked team.
Because of this, Alabama is now back on the rise in the latest polls, as expected, with the Crimson Tide now sitting at No. 16 according to the latest USA TODAY Sports College Baseball Coaches Poll. Released on Monday afternoon, Alabama jumped a total of four spots as a result of their series win over Georgia, which also followed a dominant 10-2 road win over another ranked team, the Troy Trojans, earlier in the week.
Now sitting at 39-13 overall, as well as 15-12 in SEC play, Alabama will conclude the regular season this weekend with a road series at Florida. The Gators jumped 11 spots into the Top 25 on Monday, with Florida now sitting at No. 21 nationally.

Broncos' updated 91-player roster after 2 moves this week

The Denver Broncos made two roster moves following their preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals. First, the Broncos placed backup offensive lineman Nick Gargiulo (knee) on their season-ending injured reserve list. Second, Denver signed fullback Adam Prentice. The team now has 91 players on the roster going into the final week of preseason. The NFL's offseason roster limit is 90 players, but Denver gets an exception for an extra 91st player because punter Jeremy Crawshaw is designated as an international player. Once the 53-man roster is set, teams can use an international exemption for the 16-player practice squad. Crawshaw is set to serve as Denver's punter this year, so he's got a spot reserved on the active roster. So if the Broncos want to carry a 17th practice squad player in 2025, it will have to be a different international player than Crawshaw. With those notes out of the way, here's a look at the team's updated preseason roster, sorted by position. Each player's name includes a link to his Broncos Wire bio. Broncos preseason roster Broncos injured reserve Denver will trim the roster down to 53 players by Aug. 26, then build a 16- or 17-player practice squad. Last year, the team's initial practice squad included Burton, Tillman, Bailey and Badie. Social: Follow Broncos Wire on Facebook and Twitter/X! Did you know: These 25 celebrities are Broncos fans.

Georgia football 2025 running backs preview

The Georgia Bulldogs a little over half of their rushing production (51.7%) from last season. Georgia's second-leading rusher, running back Trevor Etienne, was selected in the fourth round of 2025 NFL draft. Georgia rushed for just 124.4 yards per game last season, which ranked second-to-last in the SEC. Georgia was able to establish the run twice against Texas, who had one of the top defenses in the country, but overall it was a disappointing season for the Georgia run game. The Dawgs lost four of their five starting offensive linemen from a season ago, so Georgia has had to re-tool up front. In 2025, Georgia's rushing attack will be even more crucial. The Bulldogs need to have a balanced attack for projected first-year starter Gunner Stockton. The Bulldogs return nearly 1,000 yards in rushing production from 2024. Projected starting running back Nate Frazier, a third-team All-SEC pick, figures to be Georgia's lead back this fall. Frazier posted 671 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns on 133 carries in 2025. Georgia's second leading returning rusher is actually wide receiver Dillon Bell, who had nine carries for 107 yards and a touchdown in 2024. Bell could play a larger role for Georgia's backfield in 2025 like he did in 2023. The Bulldogs return running back Cash Jones, but Jones was more effective as a pass catcher. In 2024, Jones was UGA's top receiving running back with 24 receptions for 275 yards and four touchdowns. As a freshman, Nate Frazier posted 12 receptions for 85 yards. We project Frazier's receiving production to significantly improve in 2025. Georgia had a busy spring This spring, Georgia running back Branson Robinson (25 carries for 73 yards and three touchdowns) transferred to Georgia State in the spring after an injury-filled 2024 season. Robinson's power running will be missed, but he struggled to stay healthy during his time at UGA. To solidify the backfield, Georgia added Illinois transfer Josh McCray, who has missed the start of fall camp. McCray posted a team-high 117 carries, 609 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns (No. 9 in the Big Ten/tied) in 2024. The 6-foot-1, 235-pound bruiser has a physical running style and is tough to bring down on first contact. McCray does not have elite speed, but runs with toughness and is excellent in between the tackles. He posted 114 rushing yards on 13 carries and two rushing touchdowns in Illinois' bowl win over South Carolina last season. McCray, a senior, finished 2024 with 13 receptions for 116 yards and a touchdown. He's more of a rushing threat than a pass catcher, but still has to be accounted for in the passing game. Who else factors in at running back for Georgia? Georgia returns running back Roderick Robinson (four carries for three yards), who missed almost the entire year with an injury. As a true freshman in 2023, Robinson recorded 24 carries for 196 yards and two touchdowns. If healthy, Robinson could be UGA's No. 2 running back. UGA also returns redshirt freshman Chauncey Bowers (16 carries for 58 yards) and sophomore Dwight Phillips (six carries for 33 yards and a touchdown). Lastly, Georgia signed three-star running back Bo Walker (No. 48 running back in the country). Another factor for the running game is quarterback Gunner Stockton, who has flashed mobility. He posted a negative rushing total in 2024, but the eye test shows he is a little more mobile than Carson Beck. Still, we don't expect to see a ton of designed quarterback runs for Stockton, but he could contribute positively to the rushing attack. A Notre Dame assistant was named to 247Sports 30under30, a national top young coaches list

If you follow Notre Dame football recruiting, you have heard about the impact that Jevaugh Codlin has had with multiple prospects. On Monday, the Irish analyst was named to 247Sports 30under30, highlighting the top coaches across the country that are under 30-years old. At 28, Codlin is a rising star in the profession, after spending the previous 2 years at West Virginia. He's helping with the defensive line in South Bend, as he worked with the secondary with the Mountaineers, but the impact has carried over. Chris Hummer, who compiled the list, said that 'there's never been another analyst who's had more people recommend him promoted and unprompted in the history of this list; both from sources I know well to established figures in the industry advocating out of the blue.' Head coach Marcus Freeman made another fantastic hire by poaching Codlin, and it has paid off immediately. In the 2026 recruiting class, Notre Dame has commitments from Rodney Dunham and Ebenezer Ewetade, two of the top edge rushers in the nation. Hopefully the Irish have a plan to keep Codlin happy, as he's going to be a wanted man over the next few years.
