Charles Cross had surgery on his finger, hopes to be ready for Week 1
A bit of surprising injury related news for the Seattle Seahawks and their already much-maligned offensive line. NFL insiders such as Albert Breer and Ian Rapoport are reporting that Seahawks starting left tackle Charles Cross had surgery on his finger. The hope is he will be recovered in time for Week 1 against the San Francisco 49ers when they come to Lumen Field to kick off the 2025 campaign. Cross has been a standout staple of Seattle's offensive line ever since he was drafted No. 9 overall during the 2022 NFL Draft - a direct result of the infamous Russell Wilson trade. Cross immediately became a starter and never looked back, as he started all 18 possible games during his rookie season (regular season + Wild Card game). He was limited to 14 in 2023, but still started all of them. By 2024, he was healthy as ever and was a starter in all 17 once again. Cross is one of the best at his position and is obviously apart of Seattle's long-term plans moving forward. Hopefully, this surgery he recently underwent truly did go swimmingly and the recovery timeline is exactly as predicted. Seattle drew a tough opening matchup to kick off the 2025 season by hosting San Francisco immediately, and will certainly need Cross in the lineup to keep new starter Sam Darnold upright against the Niners' elite pass rush.
