7,000 Fans Unite For 'Keluang Man'-Themed Run Event In KL In Anticipation Of Upcoming Film
These collabs included the Wonda Kopi Kluang limited-edition collection with Wonda Coffee, the Wonda-ful 'Keluang Man' Burger in partnership with myBurgerLab, the exclusive 'Keluang Man' Premium Collection by Royal Selangor, and of course, the highlight—the 'Keluang Man' WONDA Fun Run. To build anticipation for the highly awaited live-action release of 'Keluang Man', Astro Shaw has launched an exhilarating, immersive experience with the 'Keluang Man WONDA Fun Run'—Malaysia's first-ever original superhero-themed run. This milestone event marked a groundbreaking collaboration between Keluang Man, Wonda Coffee, and Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL), held in conjunction with the city's Car Free Morning programme. The run, making its debut on 18th May in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, drew more than 7,000 enthusiastic participants of all ages for a vibrant 5km course that began at Menara DBKL.
The morning of event kicked off at 6:45 am with a dynamic warm-up session, followed by the official flag-off at 7:00 am, led by none other than Keluang Man himself, mascot BeBe, and a DBKL representative. Adding a fun twist, runners donned Keluang Man masks, while select lucky participants received limited-edition jerseys that added a collectable thrill to the experience.
Elevating the atmosphere, fans were treated to star appearances by the film's cast, including Nas Muammar Zar, Datuk Rosyam Nor, Shweta Sekhon, Anwaar Beg Moghal, Sham Sunder, and Razzuan Rosli. The energy soared further with live performances from Krisya, the vocalist of the film's official theme song, and local rock powerhouse S.O.G.
The 'Keluang Man WONDA Fun Run' successfully united fans, fitness enthusiasts, and film lovers in a celebration of homegrown superhero pride, setting the stage for what promises to be an epic cinematic launch. According to reports, Gillian was in town to film for the upcoming Astro variety show, 'Beauty Fafa (营业吧!花花)'. Of course, while in Malaysia, the star couldn't help but check out the local food scene. In the video, Gillian and her staff members visited Alor Street and dined at a local Chinese restaurant. The star also revealed that she has dined at the restaurant many times, hinting that the food there is good. The next scene then shows a table full of dishes, including grilled stingray, satay, and grilled chicken wings. After inviting the crowd to dine in, Gillian then devoured the dishes without hesitation. While there were many food choices on the table, the singer said her favourite was the grilled chicken wings. However, Gillian's food diary didn't stop there. Upon returning to her hotel room, the star's staff members surprised her with a Roti Tisu tower that was half her height. While the 44-year-old was unsure at first, she grabbed a small piece for her first try of the iconic Malaysian dish. Immediately after tasting the Roti Tisu, Gillian's face lit up and she exclaimed, 'That tastes so good!'. She then went in for a second bite, showing her approval of the dish. In the comments, fans expressed glee over Gillian's food vlog, saying they enjoy seeing her eat with gusto. Some also cooed over her cute expressions while eating her chicken wings and trying the Roti Tisu. Fans also praised her beauty and youthful looks, noting that she looked like she could be in her twenties. Meet Zarif Ghazzi, the young actor at the age of 21, who is already melting hearts and burning up the tracks in Malaysia's acting world. Making his entry into acting immediately after his studies, Zarif won plaudits when he was among the lead stars for top local drama series "Antara Dua Syurga" and "Berbahag Suami". He stole the show when he was announced as the "hottest newcomer (Selebriti Newcomer Terhangat)" at the Anugerah Melodi Terhangat 2025 (AMT2025) this year. But what made it an even more amazing day for the youngster was that he got all 100% per cent votes for the title, thus upstaging many other well-known and more experienced winners at the starry event. Winning the award also meant that the young star was crowning himself as the most prominent and influential new face of the year in the local acting industry. "I'm still surprised, honestly. In fact, in a daze. I take this as a blessing for my young career. I'm so thankful for all the votes. It is just amazing, I got 100% of the votes.
