Direct flights from Indore to Ghaziabad begin today

Time of India19-07-2025
Indore: Direct flight services from Indore's Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport to Ghaziabad's Hindon Airport are set to commence from Sunday. This new route will provide travellers with an additional, convenient option for reaching not only Ghaziabad but also Noida and New Delhi.
With significant pressure on Delhi Airport often leading to longer check-in and check-out times, the Ghaziabad flight is expected to offer a more streamlined travel experience. Hindon Airport is strategically located just 25 to 30 km from both New Delhi and Noida.
IndiGo Airlines will operate this direct service, which was announced and open for bookings approximately a month ago. The flight will depart from Ghaziabad in the afternoon, arrive in Indore, and then depart from Indore in the evening for its return journey.
Hemendra Singh Jadon, president of Travel Agent Association of India (Madhya Pradesh), stated that the launch of the Ghaziabad flight will significantly benefit passengers travelling to New Delhi and Noida. These travellers will now be able to easily connect via Hindon Airport.
This new flight comes as a welcome addition, especially after the recent suspension of one flight each to Jaipur, Ahmedabad, and Kolkata from Indore Airport.

Once completed, the number of flights from Indore is expected to increase further.
As per the flight schedule, flight 6E 2558 will depart from Ghaziabad at 2:00 pm and arrive in Indore at 3:15 pm, while flight 6E 2559 will depart from Indore at 3:45 pm and arrive in Ghaziabad at 5:10 pm.

US tariff worries weigh on rupee; RBI rate decision in focus

The rupee is likely to stay under pressure this week as concerns over steep U.S. tariffs on Indian exports linger, while the Reserve Bank of India 's upcoming policy decision also looms large over the currency and government bonds. The rupee closed at 87.54 against the U.S. dollar on Friday, down 1.2% for the week, pressured by persistent foreign portfolio outflows and a 25% levy on Indian exports. The dollar index, meanwhile, posted its best weekly gain since 2022 as expectations of a U.S. rate cut in September faded. The odds of a reduction in September rose to 80% after data released on Friday showed that the U.S. economy added fewer jobs than expected, while the unemployment rate rose to 4.2%. Live Events Meanwhile, the maturity of a $5 billion dollar-rupee buy/sell swap conducted by the RBI earlier this year will be in focus on Monday. "It would be prudent to break the swap into delivery and rollover. The rupee has probably seen its worst for this quarter and some support will bring it to a desirable level, while not disturbing liquidity, said Alok Singh, group head of treasury at CSB Bank . Traders expect the rupee to trade between 87.00 and 87.80 this week and reckon that the central bank may continue to intervene to limit excessive volatility. Meanwhile, India's 10-year benchmark 6.33% 2035 bond yield , settled at 6.3680% last week, up 2 basis points (bps). Traders anticipate the yield will remain in the 6.33%-6.38% band till the RBI's policy decision on Wednesday. The range could be tested on either side, depending on policymakers' decision and guidance. Although some market participants expect a rate cut, a majority of economists polled by Reuters believe RBI will hold rates steady this time. "While it is a close call, our bias remains for a 25 bps rate cut at the August meeting," Citi said. A drop in India's retail inflation to a more-than-six-year low in June, coupled with expectations that it may slip to a record low in July, have heightened hopes of a rate cut. However, RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra last month said that the bar for further easing is now higher than it would have been if the stance was still "accommodative". The central bank slashed rates by a steeper-than-expected 50 bps in June and shifted its policy stance to "neutral" from "accommodative". "As the RBI awaits the impact of the large easing it has already done, we believe it will stay put on repo rate changes on 6 August," HSBC said in a note. Japan Bond yields see steepest decline in 3 months amid mounting economic uncertainty

Japanese government bonds surged on Monday, sending benchmark yields down by the most in more than three months, as concerns over the economic cost of a global trade war boosted demand for safer assets. JGB yields followed a sharp decline in U.S. Treasury yields on Friday after data showed the world's largest economy created fewer jobs than expected, increasing odds of the Federal Reserve cutting interest rates at its September meeting. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Plan Your Vacation to Lakshadweep with Cordelia Cruises Cordelia Cruises Book Now Undo And tariffs that U.S. President Donald Trump imposed last week on dozens of countries are likely to stay in place rather than be cut as part of continuing negotiations, Trade Representative Jamieson Greer said. This surge mirrored a decline in U.S. Treasury yields following weaker-than-expected U.S. jobs data, fueling speculation about a possible delay in interest rate hikes by the Bank of Japan. "JGB yields are tracking declines of U.S. Treasury yields," said Keisuke Tsuruta, a senior fixed income strategist at Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities . "The declines in yields were also supported by expectations that the Bank of Japan may delay interest rate hikes due to a possible slowdown of the U.S. economy." Live Events The U.S. Labor Department reported that the U.S. added 73,000 nonfarm payrolls last month, below economists' expectations for 110,000. June's job growth was revised sharply lower to 14,000 from 147,000. Ahead of a Friday deadline, Trump set rates including a 35% duty on many goods from Canada, 50% for Brazil, 25% for India, 20% for Taiwan and 39% for Switzerland. On Thursday, the BOJ kept its short-term rates steady at 0.5%, and subsequent comments by Governor Kazuo Ueda were seen as dovish, as he noted continuing risks to the economic outlook.
