Direct flights from Indore to Ghaziabad begin today
Indore: Direct flight services from Indore's Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport to Ghaziabad's Hindon Airport are set to commence from Sunday. This new route will provide travellers with an additional, convenient option for reaching not only Ghaziabad but also Noida and New Delhi. With significant pressure on Delhi Airport often leading to longer check-in and check-out times, the Ghaziabad flight is expected to offer a more streamlined travel experience. Hindon Airport is strategically located just 25 to 30 km from both New Delhi and Noida. IndiGo Airlines will operate this direct service, which was announced and open for bookings approximately a month ago. The flight will depart from Ghaziabad in the afternoon, arrive in Indore, and then depart from Indore in the evening for its return journey. Hemendra Singh Jadon, president of Travel Agent Association of India (Madhya Pradesh), stated that the launch of the Ghaziabad flight will significantly benefit passengers travelling to New Delhi and Noida. These travellers will now be able to easily connect via Hindon Airport. This new flight comes as a welcome addition, especially after the recent suspension of one flight each to Jaipur, Ahmedabad, and Kolkata from Indore Airport. Indore slips to fourth spot among best airports of India: ASQ survey
Indore: Indore's Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport has slipped to the fourth position among the top airports in India during the first quarter of 2025 (Jan to March). With a score of 4.94, Trichy Airport secured the top position, followed by Goa in second and Kolkata in third place. Indore airport failed to meet expectations in passenger facilities during the first quarter of this year. Lower scores across several parameters led to its compromise at the fourth position in the national ranking of best airports, according to the recently released Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey report. In the first ASQ survey report of the year, Goa, Kolkata, Indore, and Pune airports all received an identical score of 4.92. In such cases, the ranking is determined based on the Asia Pacific rankings. In the Asia Pacific region, Goa was ranked 56th, Kolkata 57th, Indore 58th, and Pune 59th, leading to Indore's fourth place in national ranking despite the equal score. This was the second consecutive quarter where Trichy Airport held the top rank. In 2024, Indore Airport's rankings were 12th in both the first and second quarters, improving to fourth in the third quarter and then second in the final quarter. The airport management stated that continuous improvements are being made to the facilities and the impact will be visible in the upcoming quarters. Indore airport secured the 10th rank in the annual survey for 2024, with a score of 4.92 out of 5. This ranking was influenced by its performance outside the top 10 in the initial two quarters. Subsequently, the airport enhanced its facilities, reaching the top 5 in the last two quarters of the year.
