Sally is on the warpath in Coronation Street after Tim hides a secret from her

Metro2 days ago

Coronation Street couple Sally and Tim Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor and Joe Duttine) are at loggerheads in upcoming episodes when Sally discovers Tim has been making some potentially life-changing decisions without consulting her first.
Recently, Tim proposed the idea that he and Sally could become foster parents.
This idea initially came out of a tragedy. At the beginning of this year the couple were devastated when Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan), a troubled boy they'd been allowing to stay in their home, was brutally killed by his own brother.
Tim had found Mason sleeping in their shed, and when he initially started to help him it was on the condition that Sally shouldn't find out. However, when she did find out about it she eventually came round to Tim's view that all Mason needed was a bit of help and someone on his side.
Sadly the couple were ultimately unable to save Mason. More recently Tim's parental, caring side surfaced again when he looked after Lou Michaelis (Farrel Hegarty)'s daughters Shanice and Joanie, after Lou was attacked by her husband Mick (Joe Layton).
Tim had gone to pick Lou and the girls up in his cab, but on seeing that Lou was wounded he insisted on taking her to A&E. When Lou did a runner from the hospital, Tim was left with the girls.
He took them home and looked after them and also offered Lou a place to stay for the night after she reappeared.
In upcoming episodes, with Shanice and Joanie having gone back home, Sally tells Tim it's nice to have the house to themselves again. Sally has done her child-rearing years with her own daughters, Rosie (Helen Flanagan) and Sophie (Brooke Vincent), and she's ready for a peaceful life in a nice tidy house complete with conservatory.
Tim, however, feels strongly that he could make a difference to children in need by being a foster parent, so he secretly sets up a meeting to push the plan forward. More Trending
Unluckily for him, Sally pops back home just before his meeting is due, and finds him in his best shirt. Even more suspiciously, he's tidied the house up and it's looking immaculate.

Obviously Sally is immediately wary and wants to know what he's up to. Even though Tim's evasive about what's going on, only moments later the doorbell rings and Sally finds a social worker on the doorstep.
Sally is livid that Tim has taken this enormous step without her knowledge. He tries to make things right with her, but she's too angry and refuses to listen.

The Wanted's Max George gives health update following second major heart surgery

The star had heart surgery initially in December and then again in February. Max George has given his fans a health update after he had his second heart surgery. Back in December, The Wanted singer was rushed into hospital when his mum noticed he had turned blue. Doctors told the 36 year old that his heart was dangerously weak, and just before Christmas he had to be fitted with a pacemaker. Max's girlfriend, EastEnders actress Maisie Smith, 23, has been supporting him during his recovery and was also by his side when he had to have a second heart operation in February. ‌ The second surgery meant that Max had to cancel a planned live show with The Wanted's new two-member lineup, which includes bandmate Siva Kaneswaran. ‌ However, Max's recovery has been going well, meaning he can get back out to work and has even hit the road on tour with Maisie. The pair toured the UK in Jeff Wayne's The War of the Worlds and Max will also be back on stage with Siva. In an update, Max explained his is now feeling "great", he told Heat magazine: "It's probably taken me until about the last two weeks to almost fully recover where I feel normal." "When I wake up in the morning, my energy's much higher now. I'm getting there. It's taken a while, but I feel really good." Bandmate Siva added: "You've come a long way. I'm very proud of you. You should have seen him in January or February, we're very lucky that he's recovered very fast... I'd let him know if he was lagging!" Max said that his theatre tour was "tiring" because he was still in recovery. "It was more stubbornness than anything because I really wanted to experience doing that show with Maisie so I was going to do it no matter what." ‌ The singer insisted he is now in a "really, really good position" regarding his health and is ready for his tour with Siva. "I'm just ready for this now and it feels so natural that, even when I'm not 100%, I still feel great doing it," he said. The Wanted was made up of Max, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness, Nathan Sykes and the late Tom Parker who tragically died in 2022 at the age of 33 following a cancer battle. However, Max and Siva decided to continue performing. Max and Siva formed 'The Wanted 2.0' and Max announced last year that he would be hitting the road with his bandmate to entertain fans across North America as well as the UK. Due to his health, Max had a setback as he had to undergo a second emergency surgery after his pacemaker was fitted incorrectly. He shared that he had to go to hospital again to fix the issues, and admitted that he was going through a 'pretty rough time.' Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community!

'Geriatric' band Patchwork joke Glastonbury too soon after village fete

South London band Patchwork are not playing on Glastonbury Festival's Pyramid Stage this year, keyboardist Marc Harris has clarified to Metro, during what was an alarming morning for the funk collective. As Glastonbury confirmed the stage times of their 2025 lineup this morning, the Worthy Farm festival also chucked in a curveball: a mysterious band called Patchwork, billed to perform on the famed Pyramid Stage at 6.15pm on Saturday, June 28. Patchwork is organiser Emily Eavis' fake band name which will end up being a famous act, just as in 2023 mystery band The Churnups resulted in a surprise set from huge rock band The Foo Fighters. Alas, Glastonbury isn't on the cards this year for the Putney-based musicians; even if they are Google's first answer to 'Patchwork band' – something ticketholders are frantically searching this morning. 'It's always been a dream, of course, after a decade of shambling pub gigs in southwest London, often with more band members than audience… but we knew our day would come…' Patchwork's Marc joked to Metro. 'The band is always ready to play, just hoping we will have recovered from the village fete in St Mary Bourne the week before. 'Clearly geriatric bands are all the rage now and with a combined age of over 500 we certainly qualify, but we could have done with a bit more notice.' Marc, 60, who has been playing with the band for 10 years alongside founding boutique travel agency Africa Odyssey and making his own symphonies, requested Metro add that the real Patchwork will be performing at The Half Moon in Putney on Wednesday evening (tickets here, for those who missed out on Glastonbury this year). While the Half Moon is no Pyramid Stage, the band will be rocking out to covers of funk and soul classics for a spirited crowd. Not one to miss. Keys basher Marc forms Patchwork alongside vocalist Gemma Dorsett, drummer Patch Zahara, trumpeter Nick Steele, guitarist Dom Liversedge, vocalist Rory Barnett, bass player Rob Oatley, and sax players Charlie Somers, Ed Butterworth and Roger Chetwode. While Marc and co. will not be heading to the Pyramid Stage this year, it's rumoured the band behind the Patchwork clue could well be US sisters HAIM. Robbie Williams has also been cropping up in fan speculation as he is currently on tour and mysteriously posted a picture of himself at Worthy Farm in the 90s. More Trending Other names like Green Day, Sam Fender, The Cure, and the long begged for Pulp have all been mentioned as possible surprise acts. Alongside the mysterious Patchwork band, the Pyramid Stage also teases a huge 'TBA' on Friday at 5pm. The confirmed Glastonbury headliners this year are The 1975 on the Friday, Neil Young on the Saturday, and Olivia Rodrigo on the Sunday, with Sir Rod Stewart taking the legends slot. Charli XCX will also be performing on The Other Stage, with Raye in the sunset Pyramid Stage slot on Saturday. Glastonbury will take place at Worthy Farm from Wednesday June 25 to Monday June 30. Tickets are now sold out, but the BBC will be covering the action live and on iPlayer. Got a story? Strictly legend explains why she quit dancing to become a farmer with co-star

Strictly Come Dancing legend Flavia Cacace coached two celebrities to the final during her time on the BBC show, but left in 2012 and now lives a very different life Strictly Come Dancing legend Flavia Cacace has revealed why she took a step back from the dance world to become a farmer after leaving the show over 10 years ago. The 45-year-old was a professional dancer on the show from 2006 until 2012, having joined Strictly alongside her then-partner Vincent Simone. After leaving the show, Flavia married EastEnders ' Jimi Mistry after being partnered on Strictly and in 2021, they moved to Devon to grow vegetables and farm animals. Now, Flavia has revealed why she left the dancing world and made a huge lifestyle change. ‌ ‌ Appearing on ITV's Lorraine this morning, Flavia said: "I never retired, I just needed a break. I toured for eight years and when me and Vincent started touring, we would do seven, eight shows a week in each venue. We did that for eight years - I stopped in 2018, I was just exhausted. "It was the body and the brain, it's both things - and obviously, I'd been living out of a suitcase, from hotel to hotel. I needed that break and Covid came and it was one of those things where we said, 'Let's just go to the countryside.'" She added that she has "a real connection and affinity with animals" and has been on the farm with Jimi for five years. Flavia made it to the final with EastEnders star Matt Di Angelo back in 2007 and landed in second place, while she eventually won the show with Olympic gymnast Louis Smith in her final series. Matt and Flavia began a romantic relationship shortly after their time on Strictly, with the pair dating until 2010. ‌ Now, Flavia is returning to dance by starring in a nationwide-tour alongside ex Strictly star Oti Mabuse. Oti left Strictly back in 2021 and has since appeared on I'm A Me Out of Here, Celebrity Bake Off and Big Brother: Late & Live. She was also a judge on Dancing on Ice, until it was cancelled earlier this year, and presented Oti Mabuse's Breakfast Show for ITV. Earlier this week, it was reported that Love Island winner Dani Dyer would be taking part in this year's series of Strictly Come Dancing. ‌ The star, who wed her footballer beau Jarrod Bowen at the weekend, has signed a pre-contract for the show and is in pay deal talks, according to The Sun. A Strictly insider told The Sun that BBC bosses are "thrilled" that she'll be taking part and are currently "ironing out her fee". They added: "She's bubbly, down-to-earth and straight-talking and producers reckon she'll make an ideal contestant — not to mention the bonus of having Jarrod and dad Danny in the audience supporting her." Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV1 and ITVX.
