‘Film producer' arrested for providing mule account to Chinese national
The police said a complaint was filed on 23 July after the complainant lost more than ₹57 lakh in a share market fraud. The complainant, who is a highly qualified IT professional, was surfing on Youtube when he saw a video on the stock market. When he clicked on the link, he came in contact with an individual, who offered him tips to get good returns on investments.
Accordingly, the victim invested and initially, his dashboard showed profits. However, when he tried to withdraw his profits, he was asked to pay various charges first. Realising then that he had been duped, he approached the police.
During police investigation, it was revealed that a fraud amount was received in Balaji Enterprises' HDFC bank account. With the help of Deccan police, Pimpri Chinchwad police identified the account holder and arrested him.
Pravin Swami, assistant inspector at Cyber Police Station, Pimpri Chinchwad, said, 'Initially, the accused did not admit to any crime, saying he was a film producer. Later, he revealed that he and a Chinese person who goes by the name, Bambino, were involved in this case.'
Ravikiran Nale, senior inspector, Cyber Police said, 'Total 15 complaints of cyber fraud have been reported against his bank account and till date ₹86,43,119 have been received in his account via various frauds.'
Their investigation also revealed that for sharing mule accounts with cyber fraudsters, the accused used to get 10 % commission. For the last six months, the accused shared his bank account details with many Chinese nationals.
Police said some of the friends of the accused were involved in mule account-sharing business. They were earning good income without coming under the radar of the police. Hence, the accused also decided to enter the field but got caught by the Pimpri Chinchwad police.
A case has been filed at the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Station under sections of 318(4), 316(2) 3(5)of the BNS and sections 66 (c) and 66 (d) of the Information Technology Act.

1 2 Berhampur: A case has been registered against a Class IV employee for allegedly offering urine instead of water to a newly appointed engineer of the rural water supply and sanitation (RWSS) department at R Udayagiri in Gajapati district, recently. "Police swung into action after an FIR was lodged by Sachin Gouda, the engineer, at R Udayagiri police station on Thursday evening," said Suresh Tripathy, sub-divisional police officer (SDPO), R Udayagiri. Police sought sample of the water which was served to the engineer for laboratory test. The employee was identified as Siba Narayan Nayak. During interrogation, he refuted the allegations, police said. Gouda joined work on July 22. While having dinner in his official residence on July 23, he asked Nayak to fetch him water to drink. When Gouda was handed the glass, the colour of the water appeared yellowish, like urine. It also smelled like urine, Gouda's complaint read. He asked two others present at his official residence to have a look, and they apparently also voiced concern. Gouda later wrote to higher authorities and sent the water sample to the department laboratory for tests. Since there was no department action taken against Nayak, Gouda filed a police complaint. "We will conduct our own test to confirm whether he was served urine instead of water," the SDPO said. Nayak has been booked under BNS Section 272 (malignant acts likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life).

Jagraon stock trader's murder after setting his SUV on fire: Accused brothers were 'envious' of him, say police, one held
Three days after a man from Kothe Sherjang village of Jagraon was killed after assailants set his SUV on fire and assaulted him with iron rods, the Ludhiana Rural Police Friday arrested one accused in the case. The arrested accused has been identified as Ramandeep Singh alias Raman of Adarsh Colony in Jagraon. His brother Kuljit, his accomplice, is still absconding. Police said that there was an old rivalry between Ramandeep and the victim Jaskirat Singh Baryar alias Jassa (26), and they had a heated argument some days ago. Jaskirat was a stock market trader and used to impart 'online training' in the field through his social media platforms. Police said Ramandeep and his brother Kuljit were 'envious' of Jaskirat as he used to 'flaunt his new SUV, licensed weapon and stock market earnings' on social media. 'They were envious of his financial success and luxurious lifestyle. The accused had also snatched the victim's licensed weapon which has been recovered,' police said. Ludhiana Rural SSP Ankur Gupta said that the incident had occurred on the night of July 29 when Jaskirat was returning home in his Scorpio car. When he reached near his village, the accused intercepted him, then poured petrol on his vehicle and set it on fire. When Jaskirat jumped out of the vehicle, the accused assaulted him with iron rods. He was taken to a hospital but succumbed to injuries. The police had registered an FIR on July 30 on the basis of the statement of victim's father Jagdev Singh who had identified two accused. The FIR was registered under sections 103, 190, 191(3), 324(4) of BNS at City Jagraon police station against Ramandeep, Kuljit and 5-7 unidentified persons. SSP said that during investigation, the team traced Ramandeep and arrested him on Friday and recovered the victim's pistol and magazine from his possession. Even the car used in the crime was also recovered. The police have also recovered a .45 bore pistol and magazine (which belonged to the victim), a Tata Xenon Crew car, in which the accused had fled from the possession of the arrested accused. The police also seized a bottle filled with petrol from the recovered car as well as a mobile phone. Ramandeep was produced before a local court on Friday and was remanded in three days of police custody. Police sources, meanwhile, said that Ramandeep had put out a video on social media stating that he murdered Jaskirat as he 'wished to do so for a long time.' He also said that he and his brother didn't like that Jaskirat used to flaunt his licensed weapon and park his SUV in front of their shop. Ramandeep and his brother ran scrap dealing shop.
