Daily Mirror5 days ago

Summer in the UK is unpredictable. One day, it is warm and sunny, and the next, it's pouring with rain. That's why it's a good idea to always have a lightweight jumper or cardigan on hand.
Recently, Rochelle Humes showcased a perfect summer jumper on the Next website. The star has an ongoing collection with the fashion retailer and this new-in piece is ideal for the hot and cold British weather.
The crew-neck fitted jumper, priced at £35, has keyhole detailing all over it. Rochelle pairs the relaxed-fit knit with loose-fitting light-blue jeans for a casual daytime look. It would look equally as stylish with denim shorts or tailored shorts on hot days or thrown over a summer dress or skirt.

Elsewhere, Boden offers a similar Cotton Stitch Crew Jumper in a crochet style. Priced at £70, it comes in ivory and brown; the model pairs it with medium blue denim cut-offs.
Over at Roman, shoppers can buy a Crochet Tunic Top (£40) in white, teal, black, and beige. It's an ideal holiday piece to wear over a swimsuit or with shorts. Choose from sizes 10-20.

The stylish piece is also available in a blue colourway with pink and green stripes. It is available in sizes extra small, small, medium, large, extra large, and extra, extra large.
Back to Rochelle's Next jumper, one buyer took to the reviews, writing: "Gorgeous jumper, perfect for this time of year as not too hot and not too cold." Another wasn't pleased with the fit, writing: "Loved the jumper but had to return as it was too short on me - I'm only 5.3 inches."
A third commented: "Very nice, fitted well, good quality." Another liked it but also has issues with the size, writing: "Gorgeous jumper but massively oversized. I'm a size 14-16 and bought an XS!! Lovely cropped jumper, but huge."
A shopper who bought the blue hue said: "An ideal spring top which teams up with any colour jeans and chinos." Another wrote: "Good transitional jumper. Needs a camisole underneath."
A seventh concluded: "So comfortable and easy to wear. Great length with high-waisted trousers."

Next shoppers rush to buy £118 coat reduced to £49 that's perfect for sudden downpours

Now that summer is basically here, fashion fans are likely contemplating their warm weather wardrobe, often featuring breezy linen outfits. However, this season also presents the perfect opportunity to hunt for off-season steals to stash away for the chillier months. One such steal is on offer at Next, where the Khaki Green Premium Long Padded Hooded Coat has been massively discounted by nearly 60%. Originally priced at £118, it's now going for a cool £49, which means shoppers can pocket a tidy saving of £69. This chic khaki coat is up for grabs in both regular and petite sizes, ranging from XS to XXL. Showcased online by fashion icon Rochelle Humes, the 'stylish' garment is made from a fabric designed to withstand the elements, ensuring you remain dry during unexpected showers. Featuring a snug longline silhouette, the coat boasts a hood and generous pockets for functional flair. There is also a grey version available, currently reduced to £55, down from its original price of £118. Elsewhere, Uniqlo has cut the cost of their Seamless Down Long Coat to £129.90 from £159.90. Meanwhile, Debenhams has whittled down the price of Dorothy Perkins' £89 Longline Padded Coat to just £25, reports the Manchester Evening News. The rave reviews say it all, with Next's Khaki Green Premium Long Padded Hooded Coat earning a shining star-rating of 4.5 out of 5 from numerous happy customers. One delighted buyer said: "Absolutely love this coat. Keeps me very warm in morning dog walks and looks stylish." A second reviewer raved: "Very warm and comfortable. Long enough to keep lower back and legs cosy but still very stylish. Overall really pleased with my purchase." The lining keeps you cosy and warm and the hood doesn't blow down in the wind." However, one shopper gave the Khaki Green Premium Long Padded Hooded Coat a two-star review, expressing disappointment that it wasn't as warm as expected. They wrote: " The coat looks very cosy and warm but sadly it's not, which is very disappointing. There are big gaps within filling so you can easily feel the cold and wind." They also criticised the fabric quality, saying: "Quality of fabric is poor. The dirt sticks to it. I washed it only once (after two weeks of casual wearing) as per instructions on the tag but you can barely notice it's cleaned. I don't like giving bad feedbacks but this coat is not cheap so I'd expect better quality from the brand." But another loved their latest Next purchase, adding: "Absolutely beautiful coat well worth the money. Material soft and silky to touch." Somebody else mentioned: "As described, a stylish warm long coat."

The season incoming Rangers boss Russell Martin was behind only Barcelona and Man City in Europe for possession stats

RANGERS fans will be wondering what to expect under their new manager as Ibrox chiefs close in on the appointment of Philippe Clement's successor. SunSport understands Russell Martin is in the final stages of negotiations over personal terms and is expected to be the next man in the hot-seat. Advertisement 3 Russell Martin is set to be named the new Rangers manager Credit: Getty 3 The Scot is expected to head back up north and back to Ibrox Credit: Getty It's an appointment that will have mixed feelings after the former Gers and Scotland defender was sacked by relegation-stricken Southampton in December. But should he officially land the job then Gers supporters can certainly expect possession-based free-flowing football in Govan next season, at the very least. Martin, 39, has stuck by that style at every club he has been, and it was the reason he became a sought-after young coach in the first place. He was hailed for his approach at MK Dons and Swansea but it came back to bite him in the Premier League this season with the Saints. Advertisement At one stage he even had one of his teams competing with Europe's elite in the possession department. In 2021, Martin's MK Dons had the third-highest average possession share in the whole continent, with Barcelona and Manchester City leading the way. The English side had an average share of 63.82 per cent, compared to Pep Guardiola's men in second place with 63.84 per cent and Barcelona at 65.11 per cent. In early March that year, MK Dons set a British record of scoring a goal against Gillingham to cap a move which comprised of 56 consecutive passes. Advertisement The 39-year-old spoke about his methodology on The Rest is Football podcast last month. He said: "After a year and a bit of working with the players and believe so much in something and you convince them of something. Rangers fans react as 49ers takeover completed "To then go by the way you are not good enough to do this now so you're going to have to change... "My feeling is I have learned a lot. Will I do things differently? No in terms of build up and trying to dominate the ball. Advertisement "I changed formation too much but the concept doesn't change. "You recognise where the space is, spare man and find him, and we will take territory as quick as we can. "Sometimes it will take 20 passes sometimes one, but you need to feel it, live it and do it together and work out. "But the problem was we weren't winning, so rather than being really consistent with the shape, and this is how we defend. Advertisement "I was overthinking a bit and going we need to change shape for this game because of this." 3 Martin revealed his style of play received plaudits from Manchester City boss Guardiola and his players. He added: "There were brilliant bits and played City away. Advertisement "It looked great at times, we broke through City's press a lot. "Pep Guardiola was amazingly complimentary and their players were surprised by the level of capability of the players, the way we played through them. "But we had five defenders, we had two full backs playing wing back and we couldn't finish it off so the balance was a bit skewed that's what I've learned." He also enjoyed a 25-game unbeaten run in the English Championship with Southampton. Advertisement A record-breaking number of passes was set by Southampton under Martin in their opening game against Sheffield Wednesday, with 931 successful passes and 477 in the first half. Rare Peter Rabbit 50p coin sells for more than whopping 5,000 times its value – here's how to check if you have one

It is part of a collection celebrating the famous author Beatrix Potter HOP TO IT Rare Peter Rabbit 50p coin sells for more than whopping 5,000 times its value – here's how to check if you have one A RARE 50p coin has sold for more than £2,500 because of its unusual design. The coin, which was sold on eBay, was part of a batch of special Peter Rabbit coins produced by the Royal Mint in 2018. Advertisement 1 Coin hunters should check to see if their 50p Peter Rabbit coin matches the one above While most Peter Rabbit 50p coins contain the lettering "The tale of Peter Rabbit" on one side, this 2018 coin – which was sold on the online auction site in March this year – has only the markings "Peter Rabbit". Coin hunters should check their collections to see if they have snatched up one of the treasures. Experts such as Coin Checker say such small details can "dramatically" increase the price of rare coins for dedicated collectors. It comes after another Peter Rabbit coin was put up for sale for a whopping £25,000 because of a tiny error. Advertisement One eagle-eyed collector, who lives in Dereham, quickly noticed theirs looked different from the rest. As the eBay listing explained, there was a bizarre "lump of metal" stuck to one of the character's feet. In the latest listing to catch the eye of collectors, the seller outlined on ebay what makes this Peter Rabbit 50p coin "iconic". They wrote: "Crafted with precision in the United Kingdom, these coins boast the iconic symbolism that collectors and enthusiasts alike seek. Advertisement "The year of issue varies across the collection, offering a time capsule of Britain's numismatic artistry. "The rarity of these coins makes them an exceptional find for any serious collector or admirer of British tradition." The rarest and most valuable 50p coins in circulation Much like how the Beatrix Potter coin is a commemorative item, similar rarities will often be desirable for collectors. It'll always depend on who you're looking to market your coin to when it comes to sell, as the amount buyers are willing to pay will vary from one to the next. Advertisement One literature fan might be keen to spend hundreds just to get their hands on it, while another might only see the coin as worth its face value of 50p. How to check if you have a rare coin If you think that you might have a rare coin then it's worth checking with an expert to see if yours could sell for a hefty price tag. The most valuable coins are usually those with a low mintage or an error. These are often deemed the most valuable by collectors. You can check how much the coin is selling for on eBay by searching the full name of the coin, selecting the "sold" listing and then toggling the search to "highest value". It will give you an idea of the amount of money that the coin is going for. But it's not always the case that a coin has sold for the amount is was listed for. Coins are really only worth what someone else is willing to pay for them. Sometimes, collectors are willing to pay more for a coin if they need it to complete a set. Some key things to look out for on other coins, that might help you drive up the price too, would be a low mintage or an error that's apparent on the design. If a coin has a high mintage figure then it's a bit easier to find one in your own wallet, but then it's not as sought after or rare. You can check how much a coin will typically go for on eBay though. Advertisement Sometimes a coin may not have sold for the amount it was listed for, and fakes circulate online too, so keep this in mind.
