Tommy Dorfman Reveals 'Beautiful' Secret Affair With 13 Reason Why Co-Star

Graziadailya day ago

13 Reasons Why took audiences by storm when it debuted on Netflix back in 2017. Produced by Selena Gomez, the show ran for four seasons and prompted countless conversations about bullying and self-harm- and also came under fire for some particularly graphic scenes about suicide and abuse.
Now, almost a decade later audiences still remember the controversial storylines as well as the talented cast- which included Tommy Dorfman as Ryan Shaver. Tommy- who came out as a transgender woman in the summer of 2021- recently released her memoir, Maybe This Will Save Me , and with it came a bombshell for fans of the show.
Tommy, now 33, revealed that when the show first began filming, she had a 'short-lived' romance with Brandon Flynn, who played fellow high school student Justin Foley on the show.
In her book, she detailed the second night the fresh-faced cast- which included Dylan Minette, Katherine Langford and Alisha Boe- all got together at her house. She stepped outside to smoke a cigarette when suddenly she felt an 'undeniable charge' between her and Flynn. She wrote, 'Within a few puffs, I looked over to find that Brandon had joined me. His boyish tipsy charm was intoxicating, he carried confidence with ease, and his blue eyes sparkled, perhaps this is what people meant when they said star quality. Whatever it was, Brandon embodied it.'
'We held each other's gaze for what felt like forever, and next thing I knew, we were up in his bedroom, ripping each other's clothes off,' the passage continued. 'It was lusty and fun in the most beautiful, magical of ways.'
According to Dorfman, Flynn ended their romance because he was seeking 'something more serious,' while Dorfman 'couldn't offer more than casual fun.'
Dorfman later married Peter Zurkuhlen in 2016, but the pair split in 2021. Later that year, Dorfman met Elise Williams on a dating app and the pair tied the knot in a secret ceremony in 2023, although she filed for divorce earlier this month. Meanwhile, Brandon had a year-long relationship with singer Sam Smith before marrying his now-husband Jordan Tannahill last year.
Dorfman and Flynn's relationship wasn't the only secret affair revealed in her memoir. Although it was denied by their reps at the time, according to Dorfman's book Flynn also briefly dated their 1_3 Reasons Why_ co-star Miles Heizer- a relationship which the actress found difficult at the time.
She wrote, 'Seeing Miles and Brandon so in love sparked an unexpected jealousy in me, a yearning for that excitement and fire, perhaps even more serious feelings lingered for Brandon at that time, but I couldn't do anything about it. My bed was made, and I needed to focus on the task at hand: memorising my lines.'
Sarah O'Byrne has worked for Bauer Media since May 2023. She writes for Grazia, heat, Closer, Bella and Yours.

Has Dept. Q been renewed for Season 2? Here's what we know:

Renewed or Cancelled? Dept. Q is the latest crime drama on Netflix, created by Scott Frank, the brilliant mind behind The Queen's Gambit. With great characters and plotting, this one is not to be missed. Having watched the first season in its entirety, you may be wondering if this one has been renewed or cancelled. Well, wonder no more! What is Dept. Q about? Dept. Q is set in Edinburgh, follows Detective Chief Inspector Carl Morck, a brilliant but emotionally scarred officer recovering from a traumatic ambush that left his partner paralyzed and another officer dead. Relegated to a newly formed cold case unit in the police department's basement, Morck assembles a team of misfits to take on an old case involving the mysterious disappearance of prosecutor Merritt Lingard from a ferry four years prior. As the team delves deeper, they uncover a chilling conspiracy and psychological trauma that test their limits. We have extended coverage of Dept. Q on the site, including recaps of every episode HERE! Has Forget You Not been renewed for Season 2? At the time of writing, Dept. Q has not been renewed for season 2. Generally Netflix would gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly. Other times, it can take months before a decision over a show's future is made. So far, Dept. Q has had a very good reaction online from critics and audiences alike. Given the way this show is set up, and the ending we receive, we're predicting that this will be renewed for a second season. The series has lots of potential, and it's also adapted from Jussi Adler-Olsen's Danish novels too so there's plenty of sourxe material to adapt. There's also lots of loose ends still to be tied up and plenty of potential for further cold cases to be brought up. We also know completion rate is a massive metric for these streamers and this feels like one of those shows that people will dive into and become hooked once they've watched a few episodes. However, we could be completely wrong too, so take our prediction with a pinch of salt! What we know about season 2 so far: Barely anything is known about Dept. Q season 2 at this point given Netflix haven't officially renewed or cancelled this one. Given the first season's conclusion, it does seem very likely to get the nod for another season. We'd likely get another 9 episode season if this one is renewed, along with a return of familiar cast and crew too. The story's tone and style will likely remain very similar to what we've been graced with in season 1, and a return of cast and crew along with Carl's quest for who the shooters were at Leith Park too. We will update this page when more information becomes available, so be sure to check this page out in the near future. Would you like to see Dept. Q return for a second season? EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Netflix stole my idea for erotic show, claims 'Queen of bling' Celia Sawyer

She'll do everything to fulfil a client's dreams, even if asked to install a 24-carat gold and platinum bath when fitting out a private jet. But unstoppable interior designer Celia Sawyer, star of Channel 4 's Four Rooms – and dubbed 'Queen of bling' – doesn't care to see her ideas appropriated by others without a word of thanks, still less financial reward. But that, alleges the statuesque Sawyer, who stands 5ft 9½in even before she's strapped on her Yves Saint Laurent gold sandals, is exactly what happened when she suggested a project to Netflix. 'I sent them a synopsis for a TV show called Kinky Rooms,' Sawyer, 58, tells me. Netflix said 'they were going to delete it'. Sawyer, who left school at 15, got on with her commercial commitments, drawing up plans for everything from yachts to country houses, from her Mayfair office opposite Claridge's. But she was taken aback by what happened the following year. 'A programme came out on Netflix called How To Build A Sex Room,' she tells me. 'It was exactly the same idea, exactly the same format we had come up with,' insists Sawyer, who cites, by way of example, her proposal for an episode devoted to designing a room to cater for those who label themselves 'polyamorous'. One episode of Netflix's eight-part series did exactly the same, bearing the strapline: 'Melanie designs a swanky dungeon to fit Lester and Soriya's polyamorous family'. Another was devoted to the creation of 'a rock 'n' roll sex basement', while a third was summarised as: 'Meaghan and Dave seek five-star spa vibes for their intimate escape'. Sawyer, who has an adult son and daughter by her husband, Nick, 63, a food commercials director, didn't take this lying down. 'I wrote to them and said it is very similar to the show that I sent you.' In return, Sawyer claims, she received 'a stroppy letter – a legal letter from their lawyer telling me that they did not take the idea'. Sawyer was incensed. 'You put a lot of work into this stuff and then that happens. I was really upset. It was awful.' Subsequently, though, she had her hands full at her house on Sandbanks, Dorset. She and Nick were embroiled in two years of tit-for-tat wrangling with a neighbour who remodelled his house so that – they claimed – it overlooked their garden, prompting Celia to remark that she felt 'very uncomfortable' when relaxing in a bikini. She and Nick are now planning to sell up for £4million and spend more time at their house in Barbados. A Netflix spokesman declines to comment. Grubs up? I'm a Celeb's Toffolo seeks 'fun chef' In the jungle, Georgia Toffolo retched her way through cockroaches, maggots and a smoothie of crocodile anus and pig testicles. Back home, the I'm A Celebrity winner prefers finer fare. Toff, 30, is seeking a chef to serve her and her new husband, BrewDog co-founder James Watt, 43. 'We're looking for a fun young chef to join our family home in London,' she says in an advert on members-only website Radio H-P. 'This is a full-time role with flexible hours, cooking for me, my husband and our children.' Watt has two children with ex-wife Johanna Basford. The Stones 'are making a new album – and want to tour again' Rolling Stones fans were left disappointed when the band scrapped plans for a British and European tour this year. So this might give them some satisfaction. I can reveal that Sir Mick Jagger, 81, has been reunited with Keith Richards, 81, Ronnie Wood, 77, and drummer Steve Jordan, 68. 'They are in the studio right now recording their new album – the follow up to Hackney Diamonds,' Ronnie's ex-wife, Jo Wood, tells me at a party in Notting Hill. She admits: 'I shouldn't have told you that.' The band are understood to be working with producer Andrew Watt at Metropolis Studios in Chiswick. They shelved this year's tour because of 'logistical issues' surrounding 'venues and travel' and 'pre-existing plans'. However, Jo – whose novel The Resurrection of Flo is out next month – says: 'They want to tour again.' Jordan replaced drummer Charlie Watts, who died in 2021 aged 80. Posh Spice's royalties continue to roll in Victoria Beckham hasn't sung with the Spice Girls since 2012, but her royalties continue to roll in. Spice Girls Ltd made a £93,000 profit last year, according to newly filed documents. With Posh Spice owning a fifth of the business, her share comes in at £18,600 – enough to top up her cellar with a few bottles of David's favourite 1961 Chateau Petrus, costing £3,000 per bottle. Lineker banned from football writer's memorial service Gary Lineker has been banned from speaking at the memorial service for celebrated football writer Brian Glanville, who died this month aged 93. 'I vetoed his being invited to speak at my dad's memorial when my sister suggested it,' Glanville's son Mark says. 'Won't have him anywhere near.' Tailor to the stars' special creation Celebrity tailor Joshua Kane has revealed that his wife, graphic designer Lottie Archer, is expecting their first child. Joshua 40, shared this photograph online of Lottie, 33, showing off her bump in a pink suit he created to match his own. 'Time for some baby bespoke,' wrote the designer, who has dressed Sir Rod Stewart and actor Jason Momoa. Paltrow in a pinch over hair loss Known for her golden locks, Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed that she is going to great lengths to stop her hair from falling out. So bad is the problem that she's even tried injections in her scalp. 'So many women I know are quietly dealing with hair loss,' says the Hollywood star, 52. 'I've tried a handful of treatments over the years, nothing seemed to move the needle – not even injecting my scalp with actual needles.' The latest treatment she's tried involved a plastic surgeon and a device that uses acoustic sound waves and air pressure to stimulate hair growth. 'It was completely painless,' Gwynnie (right) says. 'Honestly, I think my hair's already feeling a bit fuller.'

New 'dark' Netflix comedy rules the charts with 16,700,000 views in just four days

Steve Charnock Published May 28, 2025 12:28pm Updated May 29, 2025 5:03pm Link is copied Comments The weather may well be improving for most of us, as summer edges ever closer. But that doesn't stop us all from indulging in our great shared love of kicking back inside with a few televisual treats, does it? Last week, as ever, saw millions of us reclining on our sofas, putting our feet up and enjoying the latest Netflix action. Across the world, subscribers to the streaming service watched and dug comedy, drama, sci-fi, romance and some rather unsettling crime documentaries. But dominating the chart? A dark comedy starring Milly Alcock, Glenn Howerton, Bill Camp and screen legend Julianne Moore... (Picture: Netflix) We kick off our rundown of the 10 most popular TV shows on Netflix in the past week with FOREVER. We're not shouting, by the way - that's how the show brands itself, in all caps. It can do what it likes, though. It's earned it. With an impressive rating of 97% critic approval over on Rotten Tomatoes, this adaptation of Judy Blume's classic teen novel is winning plenty of fans. In it, two childhood friends reunite as teenagers and fall in love. Lovie Simone and Michael Cooper Jr. star in this romantic hit that's as sweet as it is enjoyable (Picture: Netflix) Tina Fey is usually a rather reliable stamp of quality when it comes to comedy television and her big budget, star-studded new show The Four Seasons doesn't buck that trend. Starring Fey and Steve Carrell, it's a funny, poignant and insightful comedy-drama all about what relationships are really like once The Honeymoon Phase comes to an end. Colman Domingo, Will Forte and Alan Alda co-star (Picture: Netflix) Fans rejoiced once again when Netflix debuted their excellent adult anthology animation series Love, Death & Robots two weeks ago. This time out there are 10 episodes, all of a different genre and animation style. This is now the fourth installment of the ground-breaking series from the mind of Deadpool director Tim Miller. Expect tiny aliens, Red Hot Chili Peppers, cats, toilets and even an appearance from Mr. Beast (Picture: Netflix) This historical South Korean mystery drama goes by the name Tangeum back home. It's based on Tangeum: Swallowing Gold, Jang Da-hye's 2021 novel. It's a K-drama that follows the story of a young woman who is reunited with her stepbrother after 12 years apart. But is the man really her stepbrother? Or is he someone else...? It stars Lee Jae-wook, Cho Bo-ah, and Jung Ga-ram, has 11 episodes and clocked up 3.5 million views last week (Picture: Netflix) In at number six in the most-watched TV charts over on Netflix the past week is another touching K-drama. Tastefully Yours shows what might happen when a slick city restauranteur obsessed with success meets and clashes with a rural chef whose only passion is taste. Hardly a plot spoiler, but guess what? They fall in love! In its homeland the show's known as 'Your Taste'. There are 10 hour-long episodes, although only half a dozen are available to stream right now (Picture: Netflix) This Canadian teen drama thriller is loosely based on the manga Kakegurui and set in an elite school ruled by high-stakes gambling. It follows Yumeko (Miku Martineau), a daring transfer student out to shake up the system. And seek a fair bit of revenge. All 10 episodes dropped on May 15. Last week alone, some five million Netflix subscribers watched it (Picture: Netflix) In the UK, Fred and Rose West are beyond infamous. An evil couple that kidnapped, tortured and killed young runaway women - as well as some of their own relatives - this twisted West Country couple left behind a chilling legacy of chaos and murder. Plenty of documentaries have been made about the Wests before. So, arguably, another one wasn't exactly needed, as such. That said, there's possibly enough in the way of unheard interviews that make this a worthy addition to the catalogue of tales told about this deadly and deranged duo (Picture: Netflix) He was the world's most wanted man when the US intelligence services and military finally tracked him down and killed him back in 2011. This is the story of how Osama bin Laden - the mastermind behind the 9/11 attacks - was found and taken out. Featuring lots of exclusive interviews with CIA insiders and behind-the-scenes material (Picture: Netflix) A young au pair disappears in a wealthy Copenhagen suburb, setting off a tense mystery that exposes all manner of dark secrets among high society in this disturbing Danish thriller. Secrets We Keep follows a woman determined to uncover the truth, even if it means turning on those closest to her. It stars Marie Bach Hansen, Simon Sears and Lars Ranthe, and comes from creators Ingeborg Topsøe (Wildland), Ina Bruhn (Darkness: Those Who Kill), and Mads Tafdrup (Speak No Evil), and is directed by Borgen's Per Fly. Last week it was Netflix's second most-watched television show. And it's good, too - it has a 100% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes (Picture: Netflix) In at number one? A satirical dark comedy that's not only a fun and wicked watch, but is also a searing attack on the wealthy elite. That's a common theme for TV shows these past couple of years (White Lotus, Succession, Big Little Lies, Billions, The Perfect Couple, etc.). But Sirens here does it very well. It's been created by Molly Smith Metzler and is based on her 2011 play Elemeno Pea. And it's got some cast. Milly Alcock, Glenn Howerton, Kevin Bacon, Bill Camps and Oscar winner Julianne Moore all star. Critics love it. Viewers love it. It's the most-watched TV show on Netflix right now (Picture: Netflix)
