Inverness radio station up for sale after closure announced

The building which houses the local radio station MFR, Inverness, has been put up for sale after its owners, Bauer Media, announced plans to vacate the building due to cutbacks. The building, in Scorguie Place, housed the station for a number of years before Bauer Media stopped producing locally made shows late last year. The decision to scale back local broadcasting was reportedly seen as controversial by Inverness residents at the time and was only made possible after the last UK government revised radio laws. READ MORE: Housing developer accused of 'vandalism' after 137 trees 'massacred' The previous Tory administration changed the amount of locally produced content needed through the Media Act 2024 to relax the content and format requirements for commercial radio, which resulted in the subsequent announcement that the MFR station would close in 2025. The station still continues to broadcast, but its programs are now produced in the central belt, with only local news bulletins and traffic updates still created locally. The building which houses the radio station, along with its grounds, have now been put up for sale for offers over £325,000. Neil Calder, partner at Shepherd Chartered Surveyors, said: 'The property has most recently operated as a radio station and is suitable for a range of alternative uses which may present a redevelopment opportunity, subject to securing the appropriate planning consent. Early entry is available.' (Image: Shepherd Chartered Surveyors) The advert for the sale of the building describes it as currently configured to suit its former use as a radio broadcasting facility, and includes a reception area, multiple studios and recording booths, a range of office and meeting rooms, an engineering and workshop space, a library, a newsroom, along with staff welfare facilities. It added that the 5745 sq ft property is located on a 0.77-acre site with the building positioned toward the south-eastern corner, with access from Scorguie Place leading to a car park situated north of the building. Surveyors are marketing the site as having potential for redevelopment due to its location in a residential area.

Liam Gallagher threatens to quit social media after big announcement backlash

Liam Gallagher threatens to quit social media after big announcement backlash Liam Gallagher has been ramping up excitement for the upcoming Oasis reunion tour but fans were left less than impressed by his latest 'big announcement' Liam Gallagher has jokingly threatened to quit social media after teasing a 'big announcement' with fans this morning (Image: Getty Images for Bauer Media ) With the countdown ticking towards what promises to be an epic reunion, Oasis fever is hitting peak levels, with fans on tenterhooks for any morsel of news. Liam and Noel Gallagher are poised to set Cardiff alight with the inaugural gig of their monumental 2025 Oasis reunion tour on Friday, July 4, yet details about what to expect from these much-anticipated performances remain tantalisingly scarce. Welsh fans will bask in the glow of two performances before the band hits Manchester's Heaton Park for a run of five gigs from July 11 to July 20. ‌ Social media was abuzz this morning as Liam reached out to his 3.8m followers on X, dangling the carrot of a 'big announcement', sparking rumours ranging from potential warm-up gigs to exciting new acts joining the tour line-up. From superstar gigs to cosy pubs, find out What's On in Wales by signing up to our newsletter here . ‌ But when the moment came, many couldn't help feeling a tad underwhelmed by Liam's revelation at 6:30 am that was simply: "I WORK OUT", reports the Manchester Evening News. Fans expressed their bemusement and slight annoyance at the anticlimactic announcement with one quipping: "That's the big announcement?". Another fan said: "Is that the bloody announcement! ? ! Back to work it is for me." Article continues below A third fan chimed in with "You're a comedian." The anticlimax sparked frustration among fans who had been whipped into a frenzy, but Liam interacted with several of his followers in the aftermath. Facing a comment that read: "I HATE YOU". Liam retorted with "Hate is such a strong word." ‌ Liam and Noel Gallagher will reunite on stage for the first time in 16 years with their huge reunion tour this summer (Image: Getty Images ) In response to another follower's "are you 6 years old?", he quipped back: "I'm not that old." After teasing an announcement and causing quite the stir, Liam humorously conceded his mischief by saying: "Gotta admit that was good craic gotta you all riled up to ras." ‌ He sought forgiveness for any dismay caused: "If I caused any distress and upset anyone this morning I'm deeply sorry that wasn't my intention. "I thought it was a bit of fun. I got it wrong please forgive me LG." Liam also hinted at retreating from social media due to the reaction he received, stating: "Guys I think I'm gonna close my twitter account and think long and hard about my EXISTENCE this morning has been a real eye opener." ‌ Last week saw Liam in tour rehearsals with Noel, but the exact location remains undisclosed. On social media, Liam expressed his excitement about the progress: "We have LIFT OFF Rastas sounded f****** FILTHY I'll tell thee that there for hardly anything LG x." Liam teased fans online this morning, saying he was going to have to 'think long and hard about my existence' following the response (Image: WireImage ) ‌ However, those familiar with Liam's online antics wouldn't be too surprised by his playful posts. In the previous year, he tricked fans into thinking an Oasis album was ready, boasting it was 'already finished' and 'in the bag', claiming to be 'blown away' by it, only to reveal later it was all in jest: "**** me, it was a laugh." While Liam wasn't directly involved, a joke stunt with an Oasis theme took place in Greater Manchester last week. Article continues below A Liam lookalike visited the Gallagher's favourite record shop in Burnage to have a 'bust up' with an author who has penned a satirical book about a doomed reunion tour.

This Face Mask Has Been Dubbed A 'Cold Plunge In A Bottle' - And The Results Are Instant

Cold plunges have well and truly taken over our TikTok feed, but for those who aren't quite ready to submerge their actual bodies in an ice bath every day, brilliant beauty minds have concocted something far less scary. Face masks have always been a great way to not only treat your skin with hardworking ingredients, but also enjoy a moment of self-care. One mask that combines the benefits of a cold plunge ice bath? Ole Henriksen's Cold Plunge Pore Mask. Inspired by the brand's signature Scandinavian spa facials, the newly reformulated pore mask has been gaining serious buzz for its instant de-puffing and cooling effects. And honestly, if I can reap the benefits of an ice bath without actually taking one? Count me in. 1. Shop: Ole Henriksen Violet Ice Cold Plunge Pore Mask You might remember the original blue formula, but this cult-favourite mask has had a bold upgrade - now reformulated into a vibrant violet cream. So, what makes it a standout? For starters, it delivers an instant cooling sensation that helps de-puff tired skin on contact. As it dries, it gets to work decongesting pores, soothing blemishes, and leaving your skin feeling reset. Needless to say, we're obsessed. The whipped, mousse-like texture glides on effortlessly and is powered by purple kaolin clay, known for its gentle yet effective detoxifying properties. It's paired with salicylic acid and a powerhouse ingredient called betaine salicylate - a more skin-friendly exfoliant that enhances the clarity-boosting effects without irritation. The result? A deeply purifying treatment that draws out excess oil, tackles congestion, and mimics the pore-tightening effects of a cold plunge - minus the actual ice bath. I Never Liked Matte Foundations, Until I Tried This

When it comes to shopping for a new foundation, I have a very specific list of requirements. Not only does a foundation need to be comfortable to wear, but it needs to have the right amount of coverage to blur imperfections, while still looking like skin. Whenever a new foundation lands on my desk, I'm always intrigued. Anastasia Beverly Hills, known for its Dipbrow Pomade, contour creams, and classic eyeshadow palettes that once broke the internet (who didn't fall in love with that Soft Glam palette?), now has a new foundation that's joined the extensive roster of products. The Impeccable Blurring Second Skin Matte Foundation is advertised as 'second skin', which already makes me think I'm going to love it, but I wanted to get my hands on it and see if it really lives up to such a reputation. 1. Anastasia Beverly Hills Impeccable Blurring Second Skin Matte Foundation Described as a hydrating velvet-matte base, I have to tell you that this foundation lives up to the hype – and then some. From the first pump, you can feel that luxe, whipped texture, delivering the kind of high coverage that laughs in the face of late nights and breakouts. Despite the full coverage, it still feels like skin, thanks to hyaluronic acid, which keeps things bouncy and smooth for up to 12 hours. The blurring effect? Genuinely impressive. It melts into the skin, giving a soft-focus effect to fine lines and pores without a hint of cakiness. With 25 inclusive shades and a formula gentle enough for even dry or sensitive skin types, it's the kind of foundation that makes you wonder why you ever settled for less. It's safe to say, this new launch has found a permanent spot in my make-up routine. Gone are the days of unflattering and patchy formulas - this new foundation deserves a place in your beauty cupboard, especially if you love a flawless finish that will not budge.
