NEW-BOYS Mohammed Kudus and Luka Vuskovic sparkled on debut to hand Thomas Frank a winning start to his Tottenham reign.
Croatia wonderkid Vukskovic, 18, teed up Will Lankshear for Spurs' opener, and then fired home their second himself.

Kudus meanwhile, who joined last week from London rivals West Ham for £55million, whipped in the corner that led to the first goal before assisting Vuskovic to make it 2-0.
Both players looked very sharp - although the same could not be said for a rusty-looking Son Heung-min.
Spurs played two different XIs for each half at a packed Select Car Leasing Stadium.
Cristian Romero, whom Frank had described as 'very committed' to the club on Friday, captained an XI that read: Kinsky; Porro, Romero, Danso, Udogie; Sarr, Bentancur; Johnson, Devine, Moore; Solanke.

The 3,021 Spurs fans who turned up instantly sang songs proclaiming their 'Champions of Europe' status following May's Europa League triumph.
Chairman Daniel Levy, who controversially sacked the man who had delivered that trophy, Ange Postecoglou, and replaced him with Frank, watched on from the directors' box, deep in conversation with Spurs' technical director Johan Lange throughout.
In truth, it was a dull first half that very much reflected its pre-season status, but there were a few hints of what Frank may bring to Tottenham from a tactical perspective.
First of all, he went with two holding midfielders - something predecessor Postecoglou rarely did until the final stage of the Europa League.

While out of possession his formation looked to be a 4-4-2, similar to how his Brentford side would line up when without the ball.
The only real chance of the first 45 came shortly before the break, when former Manchester United goalkeeper Joel Pereira beat away a powerful Pape Sarr shot from close range.
Thomas Frank has held his first press conference as Tottenham manager - what did we learn?
Pedro Porro was also on the receiving end of a very unfriendly tackle by Mark O'Mahony, who cleaned out the Spaniard after the Spurs man had knocked the ball past him.
O'Mahony was booked and Brennan Johnson gave him a shove for good measure.
Frank gave his team-talk to the completely new side he put out for the second period on the pitch in a huddle at half-time.
His line-up read: Vicario; Spence, Vuskovic, Van de Ven, Davies; Bergvall, Bissouma; Kudus, Donley, Son; Lankshear.
Kudus and Vuskovic, who officially moved to the club this summer two years on from when his £12m switch from Hajduk Split had been agreed.
The switches quickly had an impact with Frank's men going 2-0 up with nine minutes of the restart.
Spurs' opener came from a set-piece, which must have pleased their new boss immensely given it is an area he is looking to improve.
Academy product Lankshear got the finishing touch, but it was set up by two new-boys.
Kudus fired in an outswinging corner which Vuskovic flicked on, allowing Lankshear to nod home.

Five minutes later, Kudus and Vuskovic linked up again with the man signed from West Ham for £55m laying the ball off for Vuskovic to steer beautifully into the corner.
It was a brilliant finish from a centre-back, or any player, but then again Vuskovic has goals in his locker, having netted seven on loan in Belgium with Westerlo last season.
The Croatia international then showed his defensive awareness with an important clearance to deny Andre Garcia's header.
There has been a lot of scrutiny around the future of Son this summer and the South Korean struggled with his touch when coming on.
There was a bit of crowd trouble between the two sets of fans up in the corner of the Sir John Madejski Stand in the final ten minutes of the game, with a few bottles thrown.
But it did not take the shine off what was a good start for Frank - and for Kudus and Vuskovic in particular.

Barry Ferguson breaks silence after leaving Rangers and plays down claims by own staff that players couldn't hack it

FORMER Rangers boss Barry Ferguson has dismissed suggestions by his own staff that the players couldn't cope with the pressure at Ibrox. Ferguson took over on an interim basis after Philippe Clement was sacked in February last season, and was tasked with rejuvenating a beleaguered Rangers team trailing Celtic by 13 points. 3 Former Rangers boss Barry Ferguson Credit: Alamy 3 Neil McCann and Billy Dodds, Rangers Credit: Willie Vass 3 Ferguson in training Credit: Kenny Ramsay Ferguson brought in Neil McCann, Billy Dodds and Allan McGregor as part of his backroom staff but, despite reaching the Europa League quarter-finals, they finished 17 points behind champions Celtic in the Scottish Premiership. Since then a new era has been ushered in at Ibrox and the club is under American ownership with Russell Martin appointed as the new boss. In his first interview since leaving Rangers, Ferguson admitted there were a "few bumps along the road but he loved every minute of it". He also disputed claims from his assistant Dodds who, after exiting the club, told the BBC that the majority of players at Rangers couldn't cope with the pressure. Dodds said: "When you go to a club, you tend to find that 30% of signings are not right and 70% are, and that 70% pulls the 30 along. But at Rangers it was probably the opposite. "Too many players you could see going into their shell. "You could see there was no response either in their eyes or in their brain - they couldn't handle going behind." Ferguson now back as a pundit on Go Radio said on Monday: "Everybody has got their opinions. "I just think the squad need a little bit of help and I'm sure Russell knows, that's why he's trying to make these signings which will hopefully kick on. "I can only say my piece, when I went in there, the guys were brilliant to work with, they gave me everything and that's all I asked. Rangers boss Russell Martin opens up on transfer plans as he delivers updates on Dessers and Igamane "There are always going to be players that leave that's always the case at Rangers and Celtic - money talks. "There's a lot of talk about [Hamza] Igamane even [Cyriel] Dessers so we will just need to wait and see over the next few weeks. "There are definitely a lot of good players there, there is no doubt about it. "And, added in with the quality that the new manager has brought in, you've got to be optimistic with the season ahead." Ferguson had used the time off to "recharge the batteries" and spend time with the family. He also revealed he's had offers from Scotland, England and abroad to go back into management but turned them down. Asked what he thought of Martin at Rangers, he said: "I think Russell Martin is a very good appointment if you watch they way his teams play. "I think the Rangers fans will enjoy his approach to it. "I spoke to him a few weeks ago and I was very impressed by him and I'll get right behind him and I hope he's a very successful Rangers manager. "I think it's important he's allowed time but I think he's a manager that has got huge potential." Keep up to date with ALL the latest news and transfers at the Scottish Sun football page

James Tavernier reaches a decade on Rangers rollercoaster as one constant remains amid yet another clean slate

Tavernier led Russell Martin out as captain and now works for him as Champions League chance rolls around again James Tavernier has spent a decade spinning round the Rangers rollercoaster. More often than not, he's finished up crashing into the buffers. ‌ But for all those repeated disappointments, the Ibrox skipper is still setting out with the hope that this year's thrill ride will be the one that stays on track right until the triumphant end. ‌ Sunday marked the 10th anniversary of the day the right-back arrived in Glasgow alongside Wigan team-mate Martyn Waghorn as part of a joint £200,000 swoop. ‌ Tavernier has certainly repaid that sum in goals down the years. But silverware has been harder to come by for a man crowned British football's highest ever scoring defender. He picked up his solitary league winner's medal under Steven Gerrard in 2021, with a Scottish Cup coming a year later under Gio van Bronckhorst only days after his side had lost out on Europa League glory in Seville. He completed the set under Philippe Clement with Gers' 2023 League Cup success but that's scant reward for 10 years at Ibrox. Yet, as he begins life under Russell Martin on Tuesday tonight - his seventh full-time boss since joining the club - the excitement levels remain as high as they were the day Mark Warburton brought the 33-year-old to the club back in 2015. 'My wife sent me a picture this morning to remind me that it was my tenth anniversary at the club,' he grinned. 'So yes, it's gone quickly, really quick. ‌ 'I've said in previous years, all the years of being here have been a rollercoaster. But throughout it all, I've always given 110% no matter what and I'll continue to do that. 'I always want to win. That's always been instilled in us as a little boy. I've always wanted to win no matter what. If it's playing PlayStation against my son or it's playing a match or in training, I always want to win. 'So I'm always going to continue to do that until even later in my career and even after I've retired and something that I'll go into afterwards, I want to win whatever I do. ‌ 'I'm always excited for every season to begin because it's always a fresh slate. 'The philosophy that the manager wants us to play with the ball and off the ball. It's going to be intense and that's been shown in the preseason that we've been doing - lots of running and the games behind closed doors and just the implements that he wants us to play and you'll see a real big difference of how we played over the past few years to this season. 'It's obviously been a quick four weeks during pre-season. The training's been really intense. The manager's really drilled in his philosophies of how he wants to play as a team, the structure. So the boys have really taken it on board and we're really looking forward to tomorrow night. ‌ 'I think you'll see in the way we play, with the ball and without the ball. I think that'll be evident when tomorrow unfolds and as the season unfolds, you'll certainly see a different style of play that I've probably not played since I've been here. Back in 2018 when Martin was spending a brief stint at Ibrox on loan as a player, he was being led out by Tavernier. Now he's the man barking the orders. ‌ 'I've had a couple of conversations with some of the younger lads, letting them know my age and that I've played with him and that I was captain! 'But, it's been really smooth and the conversations that we've been having, you can see his mindset of what he wants. And that's the bright side of it and what he's demanding from us as a team, me myself and it's really exciting. 'Could I see his managerial credentials back then? Typically not when you play. He was a really intelligent footballer, had a great career. ‌ 'But you obviously saw what he was starting to build when he went to Swansea, and obviously Southampton. 'The way he wants his teams to play. So it's obviously different compared to what he was playing as a player, but it's nice to see.' The heat will be on Gers tonight as they kick-off their Champions League campaign against Panathinaikos at Ibrox. But with temperatures around the 35 degree mark expected in Athens for next week's return, Tavernier knows Gers can't afford to be caught cold. He said: 'We want a positive result just to show everybody what we're capable of, what we're working to. 'But obviously, we want to put ourselves in a good position going over there. We know it's going to be a hot one over there in the second leg, so you obviously want to try and prioritise getting this first leg, hopefully with a clean sheet with a few goals, and then you can go over there and the other team has to chase. Our objective is to win tomorrow.'
