Big B shared that Kishore wasn't just a singer; he was a true artist in every sense. Amitabh Bachchan's on-screen energy was perfectly complemented by Kishore's voice in songs like Khaike Paan Banaraswala and Rimjhim Gire Saawan.
'Playback singing came later; he was first a director.'
In the video, Amitabh Bachchan recalls how Kishore Kumar's brilliance extended far beyond the microphone. 'To speak about Kishore Da would take hours,' he begins.
According to Bachchan, Kishore Kumar had an innate sense of filmmaking and artistry. 'He took up playback singing later, almost accidentally. His directorial instincts and creative spirit were far more awakened than people realized,' he said.
Big B went on to explain that while audiences remember Kishore's powerful voice behind actors like
and
, there was a deeply awakened artist behind the curtain—someone driven not by fame, but by the art of storytelling in all its forms.
A heart full of humanity—'There 'was always humanity inside him.'
What struck Bachchan most, however, wasn't just Kishore's versatility but his heart. 'No matter how busy he was, no matter what troubles or joys he was facing—there was always humanity inside him,' he said, reflecting on his personal experiences with the singer. While much of the public memory around Kishore is colored by tales of eccentricity and rebellion, this rare tribute from Amitabh Bachchan offers a gentler, deeper picture.
Meanwhile, on the other hand, Amitabh Bachchan was last seen in the
starrer 'Vettaiyan.'

When Umrao Jaan Director Muzaffar Ali Said Amitabh Bachchan "Should Have Married" Rekha

New Delhi: Director Muzaffar Ali has opened up about the rumoured relationship between Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha. This discussion comes in light of the re-release of their film Umrao Jaan, which hit theaters on June 27. The filmmaker shared his insights on their relationship in Rekha's biography, Rekha: The Untold Story by Yasser Usman. "Rekha is a very sensitive woman... Amitabh Bachchan used to come and sit on our sets during the Delhi shooting of Umrao Jaan. That's a fact. Whenever referring to Amitabh, she always spoke using 'inko, inhone', like women do who consider themselves married. I think she considered herself married," Muzaffar told Yasser Usman, writes the latter in his book. He added, "Unlike many of Rekha's and Amitabh's colleagues in the film industry, Muzaffar Ali was not cagey. He was direct and unequivocal: 'She is and she was in love with him. He should have definitely given her an identity. Amitabh should have married Rekha.' Amitabh Bachchan got married to actress Jaya Bachchan in 1973. In the '80s, when rumours of Amitabh and Rekha's affair started making rounds, director Yash Chopra gave an interview to BBC Asia about his film Silsila that featured all three actors in lead roles. The filmmaker said, "I was always on tenterhooks and scared because it was real life coming into reel life. Jaya is his wife and Rekha is his girlfriend; the same story is going on. Anything could have happened because they are working together." Silsila, a film about an extramarital affair, did not work well at the box office and was declared a commercial flop. Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha never worked together again after the film. On the work front, Rekha made her last major film appearance in 2014 release Super Nani. Amitabh Bachchan was last seen in Vettaiyan, a Tamil action drama released in 2024.

Meet most successful child actor of 70s, often played young Amitabh Bachchan, quit acting after.., daughter is a Hollywood actress, now has an empire worth Rs.., he is... In the glitzy and glamorous world of cinema, many stars come and go, but there are a few actors who make it big on the silver screen and leave a mark. However, some actors start as child artists but end up in a different direction altogether. One such similar tale is of an actor who made his debut as a child artist only to take a completely different path in life. He made his debut with the Shahenshah of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan. Who is Alankar Joshi? The actor that we are talking about is none other than Alankar Joshi, fondly remembered as Master Alankar. This boy brought young Amitabh Bachchan's character to life in several iconic Hindi films. His journey from the glittering world of Bollywood to building a Rs 200 crore IT empire in the United States is nothing short of remarkable. Alankar ventured into the world of acting quite early on. He was one of the most famous and celebrated child actors in the 1970s, appearing in over a hundred films. His performances in classics like Deewaar (1975), Majboor (1974), and Seeta Aur Geeta (1972) made him a household name. In a recent interview, his sister Pallavi Joshi, speaking about his brother, said, 'For Deewar, my brother was called, and hum Yash ji se milne gaye the (we went to meet him). I had also tagged along; I have a blurry memory of it when we went to meet on the set. The shooting had already started, and Amit ji saw Dada and said, 'Arey, kaise ho?' Then, he told Yash Ji to give him my childhood version to play. Finally, Dada was cast in Deewar, and he played the younger Vijay,' she shared. He was most frequently cast as the younger version of Amitabh Bachchan. From his impeccable performance to his on-screen charm, Alankar won millions of hearts. But his breakthrough moment came with Deewaar when director Yash Chopra, on Amitabh Bachchan's suggestion, offered him the role of young Vijay. Known for his keen observation, he even picked up Bachchan's subtle mannerisms on set, impressing everyone with his attention to detail. Alankar's Business Empire But like many child stars, Alankar's transition to adult roles wasn't easy. Despite being a well-versed actor as a kid, he soon realised that the magic he enjoyed as a child star might not translate into a sustainable adult career. He briefly tried direction and production and found success as a Marathi filmmaker. Alankar was not keen on working behind the camera. Later, he focused on his education and earning qualifications that led him to a job in a software company. Eventually, he shifted to software programming, moving to the US, where he worked for two years. The turning point came when he started his own company with a friend in America. Over the next 35 years, he built a thriving IT business, with a net worth reportedly touching Rs 200 crore. Today, Alankar lives in the US with his wife and three children: twin daughters and a son. His journey is an example of reinvention and redirection, showing how new dreams can be built even in a different field altogether.
