Stalin ‘super CM' in taking loans: EPS
He was speaking in Nagapattinam and Vedaranyam assembly constituencies in Nagapattinam district, and Thiruthuraipoondi in Tiruvarur district as part of his 'Makkalai Kappom, Thamizhagathai Meetpom' campaign. "Stalin claims himself to be the 'super chief minister' of the country wherever he goes. However, he is 'super CM' only in buying loans. Tamil Nadu takes the highest amount of loans in the country," he said.
Palaniswami claimed that the state govt has taken Rs4.38 lakh crore by way of loans in four years, and would take another lakh crore. "It is the people who will have to pay those loans as taxes levied by the govt. Stalin made the state indebted. Every child is born indebted," he said. He said the DMK govt had increased various taxes in the past four years. Prices of commodities had gone up while the AIADMK govt kept inflation under control without revenue during the pandemic, EPS said.
In Thiruthuraipoondi, Palaniswami said, "Stalin claimed while releasing Cauvery river water from Mettur that he is a Deltakaaran (resident of Cauvery delta region). Farmers in the delta region became hopeful. However, their crops withered without water for irrigation."
In Nagapattinam, Palaniswami termed the DMK govt as 'family rule' and dynastic rule. He said 'Ungaludan Stalin' initiative was launched for the sake of elections. "In these past four years, Stalin was not with you (people), he was with his family. Now, he claims to be with you with months to go for the elections," he said.
Earlier, Palaniswami met representatives of farmers, fisherfolk, traders and entrepreneurs in Nagapattinam. He visited the mini harbour in Nambiyar Nagar and fish landing centre in Seruthur.

Such a high average growth rate is a testament to the successful Dravidian Model of governance. On the national front, the national average per capita income in 2024-25 was only 1.14 lakh. The national average growth rate for the last decade from 2014-15 to 2024-25 was only 57 per cent. "But, to everyone's surprise, the growth rate achieved by Tamil Nadu is 83.3 per cent. This was possible because of the government of the Chief Minister Stalin, focused on economic progress, focusing on the welfare of the people," the Finance Minister stated. He called for measures to sustain "the same enthusiasm," and move even faster towards a one trillion US dollar economy under the present leadership.

T.N. CM Stalin continues to review ‘Ungaludan Stalin' programme from hospital
On his third day at a private hospital in Chennai on Wednesday (July 23, 2025), Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin continued to review the 'Ungaludan Stalin' programme. Mr. Stalin had a virtual session with the Collectors of Coimbatore, Kancheepuram, and Kanniyakumari districts and reviewed the programme's implementation in those districts. During the virtual meeting, Mr. Stalin instructed the officials to ensure that petitions received under the 'Ungaludan Stalin' programme were reviewed at once, an official release stated. The Chief Minister also reiterated that officials must ensure amenities for those who visit the camps organised under the progamme. Chief Secretary N. Muruganandam and two of the Chief Minister's secretaries were at the hospital with him. Following giddiness during his morning walk, the 72-year-old Chief Minister was admitted to Apollo Hospitals on Greams Road in the city on Monday (July 21) forenoon. A bulletin issued by the hospital on Monday evening said that he had been advised rest for three more days and was prescribed a few other tests for evaluation.

Several MPs of the opposition INDIA bloc parties protested in the Parliament complex on Wednesday (July 23, 2025) against the Election Commission's Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Bihar and demanded its rollback and a discussion on the issue in both houses.
