Egyptian youth forward Kareem Ahmed signs 1st professional deal with Liverpool - Talents Abroad
The 18-year-old Ahmed, who can play as a forward or an attacking midfielder, has been at Liverpool Academy since the age of six.
Ahmed is the second Egyptian player to sign a professional contract with Liverpool this year, following his teammate Alvin Ayman, who inked a deal last January, just five months after joining from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Ahmed came under the spotlight after making an instant impact on his U18 debut in December 2022 by scoring in an FA Youth Cup game at AFC Bournemouth.
During his participation with Liverpool's U18 team last season, the Egyptian player scored seven goals and provided five assists.
He also made two appearances with the Young Reds in the UEFA Youth League against Bologna and RB Leipzig.
According to Liverpool's official website, Ahmed will spend the new season (2025-2026) with the U21 team, led by new head coach Rob Page.
At the international level, Ahmed was called up for training camp with the Egyptian youth team just once, in February 2022.

Luis Díaz Inches Closer to Bayern Munich Move
Rana Atef Colombian star Luis Díaz, Liverpool's winger, is on the verge of completing a high-profile transfer to Bayern Munich during the ongoing summer transfer window. A move that could become one of the most talked-about deals in European football this season. According to James Pearce of The Athletic, Díaz has already bid farewell to his Liverpool teammates and the coaching staff, and is now preparing to fly to Munich to undergo a medical examination before signing his official contract with the Bundesliga giants. Transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the medical is scheduled for Tuesday, paving the way for an imminent official announcement from Bayern. Reports indicate that Bayern Munich has reached a final agreement with Liverpool to sign Díaz for €75 million, with a four-year contract that runs until the summer of 2029. The German club had previously submitted a €67.5 million bid, which Liverpool rejected, demanding a higher fee to complete the deal. This move comes amid noticeable absence of Díaz from Liverpool's friendly match against AC Milan, with new manager Arne Slot hinting that the player's future was the reason for his exclusion from the squad. read more Japan Stun Spain 2-1 to Qualify for World Cup Last 16 World Cup 2022: Get to Know Confirmed Line-ups of Japan and Spain Group E Decider Saudi Arabia Bid Farewell to World Cup after 2-1 Loss to Mexico Tunisia Achieve Historic Win over France but Fail to Qualify Tunisia to Clash against France in World Cup Sports Get to Know Squad of Group D Teams in World Cup Sports Al Ahly Gift EGP 70,000 to Players After Claiming Egyptian Super Cup Title Sports Bencharki Hits First 2 Goals with Al Jazira Since Leaving Zamalek Sports Arsenal Possible Line-up for Nottingham Forest News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence"

Pyramids FC sign Brazilian winger Ewerton on four-year deal - Egyptian Football
Egyptian side Pyramids FC have signed Brazilian winger Ewerton Paixão da Silva from Czech club Baník Ostrava on a four-year contract; the club announced on Monday. The 28-year-old becomes the club's first signing of the summer as the African champions prepare for the new season, which kicks off on 9 August against newly promoted side Wadi Degla. Known simply as Ewerton, the winger is expected to fill the void left by Ibrahim Adel, who joined UAE side Al-Jazira earlier this month. Ewerton was previously linked with a move to Egyptian giants Ahly, who showed interest in January, but the deal fell through amid reports that Ostrava had set a $2.5 million price tag for the player. He scored 16 goals and provided seven assists in 34 appearances in all fronts last season. Pyramids FC are coming off a historic campaign in which they won their first CAF Champions League title and finished runners-up in both the Egyptian Premier League and Egypt Cup. The club face a packed schedule this season, including domestic and continental competitions, as well as representing Africa at the FIFA Intercontinental Cup. They are set to face New Zealand's Auckland City on 14 December at Air Defense Stadium. Swimming: 'Fragile' Walsh defies illness to win butterfly world gold - Omni sports
A "fragile" Gretchen Walsh shook off a stomach bug to power to a dominant victory in the 100m butterfly final at the world championships in Singapore on Monday. World record holder Walsh took gold in 54.73sec -- the second-fastest time in history -- ahead of Belgium's Roos Vanotterdijk (55.84) and Alexandria Perkins of Australia (56.33). The United States team has been hit with a bout of acute gastroenteritis and Walsh said she had been laid low heading into the race. "The last couple of days my body has been fragile," said the 22-year-old. "I've needed to give myself grace and luckily I had the morning to recover and rest and I used that. "That helped me enormously going into tonight." Walsh set the world record of 54.60sec in May. She said she had to "reevaluate my expectations" for the world championships after her battle with illness but surprised herself with her performance. "I'm over the moon," she said. "I'm really happy that when it mattered, I was able to do that and get my hands on the wall." This is Walsh's first long course individual world title and the Olympic silver medallist was clear favourite. She won two relay golds at the Paris Olympics but was pipped to gold in the 100m butterfly final by team-mate Torri Huske in an upset. Huske decided against racing in the 100m butterfly in Singapore due to the gastroenteritis outbreak.
