EastEnders star leaves fans in hysterics with accidental accent slip

EastEnders viewers found it funny that Kat Slater's accent changed midway through a conversation with her son Tony EastEnders fans were left in stitches this week after Kat Slater appeared to momentarily slip into a northern accent. Jessie Wallace, who has played the character since 2000, delivered one line in an unusual voice recently and viewers were quick to pick up on it. The moment came during an exchange with Kat's troublesome teenage son, Tommy (Sonny Kendall), who cheekily told his mum: "Chill out, love." In response, she shot back: "Love?" ‌ Eagle-eyed viewers swore the word came out sounding suspiciously northern, prompting a flood of amused comments on X. One fan wrote: "Absolutely obsessed with Kat going northern # EastEnders." Another joked: "No because why did she do this, he didn't even say it like that LMFAOOO." ‌ A third viewer observed: "I thought it was a really odd way to repeat the word. He's not northern, she isn't. Cute though." And a fourth quipped: "Pat Phoenix's spirit returning to Jessie Wallace for a split second in 2025 #EastEnders." That last comment referred to Wallace's portrayal of Coronation Street legend Pat Phoenix in the 2010 TV film The Road to Coronation Street, which chronicled the origins of the rival ITV soap. The light-hearted moment comes in the middle of a very dramatic week in Walford. Just days ago, fans were stunned when Zoe Slater reappeared in Walford. Zoe is Kat's estranged daughter, and hasn't been seen on screen for nearly 20 years. Michelle Ryan has reprised her role as Zoe after the character was last seen leaving for Ibiza in 2005. Her return follows one of EastEnders' most unforgettable storylines, as it was revealed that Kat became Zoe's biological mother after she was assaulted by her uncle Harry at the age of 13. When Zoe was last featured in the soap her time in Walford was packed with controversy, including a faked pregnancy, a twisted love triangle with Dennis Rickman, and her involvement in the death of Dirty Den, which she mistakenly believed she caused. ‌ Now two decades later Zoe is back, but she's going through a desperate time and is deep in debt after stealing Kat's credit card. The episode where she returned to Walford ended with Alfie Moon (Shane Richie), fresh from marrying Kat, coming face to face with his stepdaughter and saying: "Hello Zoe." Fans erupted online, with one exclaiming: "ZOE BLOODY SLATER #EastEnders." Another wrote: "ZOE YOU CAN'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO YOU AIN'T MY MOTHER SLATER IS BACK! #eastenders." ‌ Michelle Ryan has spoken about her return to the soap, saying: "It all happened at the right time. I'd already been thinking about a return because I'd met up with Kacey Ainsworth (Little Mo) and Kim Medcalf (Sam Mitchell) and we were reminiscing our fond memories of the show, and I'd also joined social media and saw that there was still a lot of love for the character. "It just so happened that at the same time, EastEnders had announced a new Exec who was keen to explore the potential of a return as he was such a massive fan of Zoe and the Slaters, so both of our worlds aligned at the right time, and I'm so excited to be back. "When Ben pitched me the storylines, and when I read the scripts, I knew it was the right decision."

Coronation Street finally confirms if Kit is really Brody's dad

Is Kit Green a father? (Picture: ITV) Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) was thrown when he discovered Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) might be his son in Coronation Street recently. When he learned that Lou (Farrel Hegarty) and Mick (Joe Layton)'s boy was 16 years old, he realised the dates fitted the time when Mick was in prison – and Kit and Lou had a fling together. Lou, however, has been denying that Brody is Kit's son. This has left Kit unsure about where he stands, although we've seen his behaviour towards Brody reflecting the fact that there's part of him that really believes he could be Brody's dad. He's let him off with a warning after catching him stealing, and when he found Brody having an epileptic seizure Kit took care of him and stayed with him at the hospital until Lou arrived. Bernie (Jane Hazlegrove) quickly warmed to the idea that she could be Brody's granny and urged Kit to do a DNA test to confirm whether this was really the case. She even 'borrowed' Brody's cap while he was in hospital to get some hairs off it for testing purposes. DNA duly dispatched, Kit is about to get the answer he's been waiting for – and it will change his world forever. Kit finally gets some answers (Picture: ITV) Kit used to hang out with Lou and Mick when they were younger (Picture: ITV) Brody is causing trouble again on the Street when Aadi (Adam Hussain) throws a midsummer-themed party at number 7, and Brody decides there's money to be made supplying LSD to Weatherfield's youth. Aadi kicks Brody out after seeing him with the drugs, but he doesn't go quietly and there's a fight. Then, with Brody gone, Aadi, Summer (Harriet Bibby) and Nina (Mollie Gallagher) prepare to take the LSD. Aadi, however, is distracted and when he comes back someone else has taken his share. With all of this going on at number 7, elsewhere Kit has had the DNA results. Bernie is desperate to find out whether she really is Brody's granny – and Kit confirms she is. He's the boy's dad. Kit questions Aadi about what went on at the party. Will he drop Brody in it by explaining that he supplied the drugs? And if he does, how will Kit's newly-discovered relationship with Brody affect how he handles the situation? Often people wear crisp white outfits, or pay homage to the championship's signature green and purple colour. Typically there isn't a strict dress code, but smart casual is recommended, particularly for those with tickets for Centre Court or Court No 1. Fascinators aren't traditionally worn, but summer hats are encouraged to provide some relief from the sun. Unrecognisable former Wimbledon champion fangirls over Hollywood star after spotting him from Royal Box There's hope that style icon Princess will be attending this year's event, alongside other fashionable royal favourites such as Zara Tindall and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh. Ben Roberts, Managing Director of British jewellery brand Clogau, shared: 'You don't get into the royal box at Wimbledon unless you're dressed to impress. However, the dress code is still far more relaxed than you'd find at an official royal event. 'This means members of the Royal Family can embrace a more dressed-down but still luxe look, with Kate, Zara and Sophie all adept at blending traditional royal fashion with more modern trends, mixing high street names we all know and love with unique jewellery to truly elevate their look. 8 If white at Wimbledon is good enough for the Princess of Wales, it is good enough for us Credit: Paul Edwards - The Sun 8 Margot Robbie, pictured with husband Tom Ackerley, was also seen wearing white Credit: Getty 8 Molly Mae also got the white memo when she went to the tennis tournament Credit: Instagram 8 Amanda Holden looked chic in Wimbledon whites stepping out with lookalike daughter Lexi Credit: Splash 'Kate has mastered every colour, style, and print, but green has emerged as her signature colour for the tournament. "Kate could switch things up this year; polka dots have made a comeback, a pattern she has always loved. It wouldn't be surprising to see her incorporate this into her look." 'Kate is often seen wearing pearl earrings for engagements as they compliment her stand-out, impressionable style; a classic touch like her beloved Annoushka pearl earrings make for the perfect accessory.' While we may not have Princess Kate's wardrobe budget, the Primark dress could do the trick.
