REPORT: Dricus Du Plessis set to make MILLIONS against Chimaev! Staggering amount revealed!
Dricus du Plessis will defend his middleweight title for the third time at UFC 319 in Chicago, USA.
He faces arguably his toughest test yet, Khamzat Chimaev. Both men are undefeated in the octagon in the UFC. Furthermore, both men are set to make millions after the bout is over on Sunday morning.
Du Plessis is reportedly heading for a huge pay-out of over R50 million this weekend.
'In the upcoming clash against du Plessis, Chimaev could earn around $1.8 million if he wins, while 'Stilknox is expected to make close to $3 million again,' the report read on SportsKeeda .
This equotes to over R50 million (R53.2 million) up for grabs for du Plessis. Meanwhile, Chimaev could make over R30 million (R32 million) if he defeats du Plessis.
Here is what time Dricus du Plessis will defend his title against Khamzat.
* Please note: This is based of of SportsKeeda's report and has not been confirmed. Both fighters will receive pay-per-view and sponsorships pay-outs in addition to a 'base salary'.
As reported on The South African , Dricus has QUADRUPLED his income since in just three fights since becoming the UFC middleweight champion.
He reportedly made over R40 million when he successfully defended his title against Sean Strickland earlier in the year.
'He allegedly earned a base salary of $1.2 million, plus $400,000 in pay-per-view payouts and $42,000 in sponsorships, bringing his total earnings to $2.14 million (approximately R40 million),' according to Jacaranda .
So, if the above reports are true he could earn up to R20 million more than his previous pay-out after he conquered Strickland in their rematch earlier in the year.
His earnings continue to rapidly grow with every victory. This is because du Plessis reach is expanding and his value as a fighter continues to rise as maintains his Middleweight championship. Being champion means main-eventing pay-per-views. This, in turn means more views and more money for 'Stilknox'. Therefore, it pays to be champion.

BREAKING: Kaizer Chiefs unveil Asanele Velebayi!
Kaizer Chiefs have officially unvailed Asanele Velebayi as their newest signing for the current transfer window. Velebayi joins Amakhosi on a free transfer following his departure from Cape Town Spurs. The speedy winger was most recently involved in a contractual dispute with Spurs on the back of their relegation to the ABC Motsepe League. However, as reported by The South African, the PSL Dispute Resolution Chamber (PSL DRC) ruled in his favour, declaring him a free agent, and thus, giving him the green light to sign for Chiefs. The deal between Chiefs and Velebayi was long concluded, but the Soweto giants couldn't do anything until the player had his clearance. COMMENT: Defend take downs, shoot your own, the right game plan for Du Plessis.
Stillknocks Dricus du Plessis is set to defend his UFC middleweight title against Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 319 in Chicago on August 16. Photo: Saeed Khan / AFP THE mentality in the camp of South Africa's MMA star and Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Middleweight Champion Dricus du Plessis is largely based on challenging Khamzat Chimaev in his own strengths, wrestling and grappling, ahead of UFC 319 in Chicago this coming weekend. Du Plessis' camp believes that Chimaev is yet to meet an opponent who shows no fear for his highly praised wrestling and grappling abilities. The South Africans believe that the key to success is beating the Chechen-born fighter on the ground, forcing him to take the fight on the feet, where Du Plessis' strengths lie in the match-up. Time and again, specialist fighters have been mentally broken down in the octagon when they meet with a fighter who shows no fear, adequate resistance and skill. Earlier this year, former light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira met a determined Magomed Ankalaev in a championship bout, and the difference between Ankalaev and any of Pereira's opponents was that the Russian had no fear for his striking. When Perreira realised little success on the feet, an area he usually dominates in the octagon, he was visibly defeated, and from then on, it was Ankalaev's fight to win, and the Russian eventually won the bout. Du Plessis' title defence this week exudes the same energy; stuff Chimaev's takedowns, shoot for your own takedowns and break Chimaev physically and mentally.

Court orders MamKhize's Royal AM to pay back R27 million to Msunduzi Municipality
The sponsorship agreement between Royal AM and Msunduzi Municipality was deemed unlawful and invalid. Tough times seem to be lasting in the life of controversial businesswoman Shauwn 'MaMkhize' Mkhize as she suffers another blow. The Pietermaritzburg High Court has ordered Mkhize's football club, Royal AM, to pay back R27 million for the sponsorship agreement between them and the Msunduzi Municipality. Royal AM and Msunduzi Municipality entered into a three-year sponsorship agreement in 2023, and the football club has been receiving R9 million each year since the commencement of the agreement. Judge Nontuthuzelo Mlaba said the agreement was unlawful and invalid. ALSO READ: MaMkhize's Masterclass: life lessons, financial woes, and fans shouting 'Pay back the money!' Royal AM to pay back the money The sponsorship agreement was brought to court by the DA in KwaZulu-Natal, as they sought to have the contract reviewed and ultimately set aside. The judgment reads, 'all payments made by the first respondent [Msunduzi Municipality] under the sponsorship contract to the fourth respondent [Royal AM] must immediately be repaid to the first respondent with interest from the date of the judgment [08 August 2025].' Mlaba also ordered the first, second and third respondents [the council and municipality manager] to pay for the costs of the application. Termination of the Royal AM's agreement Msunduzi Municipality's council terminated the agreement in June of this year because Royal AM was no longer participating in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) matches. Royal AM was kicked out of the PSL after Mkhize ran into trouble with the South African Revenue Service (Sars). The club was placed under curatorship by Sars as it tried to recoup the R40 million that Mkhize owed it. Mlaba, in her judgment said it appears as if the municipality sought marketing, promotion and public relations benefits from its association with Royal AM. 'These are services that any other soccer club based in KwaZulu-Natal could have been interested in, given the benefits they would gain from the sponsorship contract. The opportunity was, however, not made available to other KZN soccer clubs.' ALSO READ: 'I have lost my soul' – MaMkhize reflects on the pain of losing her football club She added that while the submission by counsel for the municipal respondents was that Royal AM was the only football club identified, no reasons were given as to why it was chosen for the sponsorship. 'This was not in line with Section 217 of the Constitution, which requires that the sourcing of such services be transparent, competitive and fair.' The DA highlighted that the municipality was already in acute financial distress when the sponsorship agreement took place. According to the agreement, the municipality was also obligated to pay for the annual maintenance costs of the Harry Gwala Stadium. Harry Gwala Stadium was the home ground of Royal AM. A win for the people DA Councillor Ross Strachan said the party welcomes the judgment by Mhlaba, and views it as a win for the people of Msunduzi. 'This is not just a legal win, but it is a win for accountability,' he said. 'We will ensure this money is returned and redirected to service delivery.' Msunduzi municipal spokesperson told Daily Sun the judgment was noted. 'We are presently applying our minds to the ruling and carefully considering all legal options available to us.'
