Shoppers rush to buy PlayStation controllers scanning for just 50p at major discounter

SHOPPERS are rushing to one major discount retailer after it was spotted selling PlayStation controllers for just 50p. The incredible bargain stunned one user on Facebook who thought it the pricing was a "mistake". 2 The Hyperkin CirKa PS4 Wireless Controller has been discounted by half price, from £1 to 50p. Sharing the news to Facebook's Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group, the poster wrote: "I have just come across this on the B&M app. "Pretty sure it's a mistake as others seem to be 15 down to 10 but worth a look if your going anyway." However, others in the comments reassured it was not a mistake: "It's on the website, been there a while now, well done on finding one." Another added: "It's not a mistake, it's just it's really old stock and will only be available in some stores that have leftover stock." The controller is compatible with PS4, PC and MAC, and can be used to play your favourite games "from a comfortable distance". It is also compatible with the PS5, but only when playing PS4 games. Features of this Hyperkin wireless controller include vibration-feedback, motion sensing technology, a front-speaker and a light bar. Three-ft of micro charging cable is also included. Gaming fans should get into B&M stores quick if they want to get their hands on this great deal, as they are low in stock. Get an inside look at the new PS5 30th anniversary edition It comes after the retailer slashed another one of it's PlayStation accessories to just 10p. The discount retailer was also spotted selling a Playstation Twin Docking Station for 10p, when it usually sold for around £15. Last year, B&M also sold PS4 games, along with a number other items for cheap as part of its end of summer sale. How to save money at B&M Shoppers have saved hundreds of pounds a year by using B&M's scanner app. The scanner lets you see if an item's price is cheaper than advertised on the shop floor label. Products that are typically discounted are seasonal items and old stock that B&M is trying to shift. The app is free to download off the B&M Stores mobile app via Google Play or the Apple App Store. According to one ex-B&M manager, you'll want to visit your local branch at 10am on a Wednesday too. Here's how you can join the B&M bargain hunt: Download the B&M app for free on any smartphone with an App Store or Google Play. Once you've installed it on your device, click on the option labelled "more" on the bottom, right-hand side of the app home page. You'll then find an option that says "barcode scanner". Click on this and you'll open a camera screen. Use the camera to hover over the barcode of the product you wish to check. If the price comes up as lower, take it to the cash desk and it will automatically scan at the lower price. You don't need to sign up to the B&M app to use the barcode scanner.

Savvy homeowner shows ‘best Ikea hack yet' as she saves almost £2k on cheap LED shelving & elevates it using £3 lights

DRAB TO FAB Savvy homeowner shows 'best Ikea hack yet' as she saves almost £2k on cheap LED shelving & elevates it using £3 lights Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A SAVVY homeowner has been hailed a genius after sharing what fans are calling the 'best IKEA hack yet". Gemma Markland, a home renovator who shares her stunning transformations on TikTok under Markland Home, wowed viewers with her ultra-chic built-in shelving display made entirely from budget buys. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 2 A Savvy homeowner showed off her 'best Ikea hack yet' Credit: Tiktok/@themarklandhome 2 She saved almost £2,000 creating her own built-in bookcase Credit: Tiktok/@themarklandhome Using two BAGGEBO bookcases from IKEA, which start from just £25 a pop, Gemma built a sleek and stylish LED shelving feature that looks like it came straight out of a designer showroom. She carefully positioned the flat-pack shelves side-by-side, then used thin wooden boards to frame around the units, giving them a high-end, custom-built finish. After securing everything in place, she painted the entire unit, including the added trim, so it blended seamlessly into the wall. To take the look to the next level, she added a clever lighting trick that set social media alight. The final result was a luxe LED shelving unit that looks worth thousands, for just a fraction of the cost. 'Everyone's been asking about the lights,' she said in a follow-up video. 'They're from Amazon, just £3 each. You peel the stickers off the back and pop them into the shelves exactly where you want them.' The tiny lights are USB-chargeable, so no wiring is needed, and come with a motion sensor setting to save battery. The lights come in warm white, neutral white or cool white. 'They're even dimmable. It's made this space look so much more luxurious.' I swear by 7 cheap hacks to transform a newbuild house into a home - your shoes will never be left in a messy pile again And she's not wrong. Similar built-in shelving features with LED lighting can cost upwards of £2,000 from furniture specialists, while even cheaper pre-lit versions retail for around £800. By DIY-ing the project, Gemma has saved herself hundreds and won plenty of fans online. 'I love this,' one viewer gushed. Another added: 'This looks so beautiful and creative.' A third wrote: 'Stunning, it looks really expensive.' Gemma's viral IKEA hack proves you don't need a big budget to create a high-end look, just a bit of imagination, some clever lighting, and a trip to IKEA. She's not the only nifty homeowner showing off Ikea hacks. A mum has given her son's bedroom the ultimate makeover on a budget. Nichola Ryan was able to give her son's tiny room the ultimate transformation and even make sure he had more space too, The mum took to social media and posted a photo of her jaw-dropping project on DIY On A Budget, a private Facebook group with 2.2 million members. The DIY fan showed off the new room which featured navy walls along with a wooden panelled feature wall. However, the room was so small that it was difficult for the mum to find storage solutions that would fit in it. Luckily, she stumbled across a hack that meant she could turn the bed into a storage unit as well. Instead of buying a brand new bedframe for the transformation, she instead headed to Ikea to pick up a Kallax unit. The cubed storage unit costs £50 and the mum picked up two of them to turn it into the bedframe. Elsewhere, a clever shopper explained how she took advantage of Ikea's Buyback scheme and managed to get £164.50 back for a set of drawers she purchased two years ago.

I'm the only female joiner I know – trolls tell me to stay at home but there's a job perk women will love

Jade McDonald loves her job and wants other women to follow in her footsteps JOIN ME I'm the only female joiner I know – trolls tell me to stay at home but there's a job perk women will love Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A LONELY female joiner has told how she's desperate to work with another woman on-site. Jade McDonald, 30, has been on the tools for four years but has only ever done jobs alongside men. But she admitted she's deliriously happy in her job and wants other women to follow in her footsteps. And not having to do her hair and make-up before heading to work, like she had to in her old job, has been a bonus. Jade, from Alford, Aberdeenshire, said: 'I'd love it if there was just one more woman to share the load. I've never seen another female joiner. 'We don't need any staff right now. But if a female came to me I would hire them in a heartbeat. 'I want to show that we can do this job as well as any man, and make it more normal. It's been such a male-orientated world for so long.' Jade was an admin assistant until 2021 when her partner Kyle Sutherland, 28, started his own business and asked her to join as his only employee. She was thrown in at the deep end as his apprentice joiner and project manager and the pair have worked seven day weeks ever since. Jade immediately felt under pressure as she got weird looks from strangers whenever she popped into shops in her work clothes. And she had to deal with patronising comments from other tradies, who reckoned she wouldn't be up to the job. But she decided enough was enough. I was female debt collector - mortifying incident in man's flat made me quit She said: 'It got to the point where I was terrified to go to the shop. I could feel eyes on me and it was just uncomfortable. 'And on a few jobs I've had comments like 'no woman should be here'. People will try and blame me for things that go wrong. They want to see me fail. 'But I stood up to one guy and that was the day I grew a backbone, because I'd had enough. I go to shop now and I just don't care anymore.' Jade and Kyle have now taken on another four members of staff and the business is going from strength to strength. She's picked up gongs for embracing diversity and inclusion at the Trades Awards. But she made it clear that she doesn't expect any special treatment on building sites. Jade said: 'A guy told me he was getting female portaloos for when quantity surveyors come out. 'But that's not what I want. I want to be an equal. I don't want a posh loo because I'm a female. "People start thinking we're getting treated differently then. 6 Jade doesn't care if people judge her for being a female joiner Credit: Newsline Media 6 Jade has picked up gongs at the Trades Awards 'We just want to go on site, not be stared at, not have these comments and just fit in. "We just want to be comfortable and to be safe in these jobs.' Jade is now considering going into schools and colleges to talk to women who fancy a career as joiners. She added: 'I just want to normalise it. There are probably women out there who want to do it but are terrified to do it. 'It would mean the world to me if someone decided to become a joiner because of me. 'But we don't want to take over the world or the trade. We just want to feel equal and safe.'
