2025 NFL draft: New York Giants select Abdul Carter at No. 3 overall
With the third pick of the 2025 NFL draft, the New York Giants have selected Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter.
Carter has been highly touted as one of the true slam dunks of the draft and has been linked to the Giants for some time.
Over the last few weeks -- once it seemed as though the first two picks were locked in, taking quarterback Cam Ward and wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter off the board -- the Giants became heavy favorites to land Carter at the No. 3 pick.
The 6-foot-3, 250-pound product was recognized for the following honors in his final year at Penn State: First-Team Associated Press All-American, Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year, Defensive Lineman of the Year, First-Team All-Big Ten, finalist for the Bednarik Award (nation's top defender), Lombardi Award (top OL/DL), and the Ted Hendricks Award (nation's top DE).
Carter started all 16 games for Penn State in 2024, racking up 12 sacks and 23.5 tackles for a loss, which led the FBS.
Carter will immediately impact the Giants' defensive line, which includes Brian Burns, Dexter Lawrence and Kayvon Thibodeaux.

Kansas City selected him in the third round of the 2005 NFL Draft, fulfilling 15 memorable seasons.

Before Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix enters his second season as the established quarterback, he took the time to speak to Sports Illustrated and answer 10 "burning questions" about his life. Everything was on the table, from his favorite childhood player to his pregame routine. The first question Nix was asked was about his favorite childhood player, and his answer was a former Denver Bronco. Nix's favorite player growing up was former Florida standout and Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow. "I enjoyed the role model that he was to so many guys out there," said Nix.
