Crocs Brings the Monsoon Romance Alive with a K-Drama x Bollywood Crossover Featuring Chae Soobin & Siddhant Chaturvedi
Set against the backdrop of romantic rain-soaked encounters, the film captures all the visual drama fans love - from shared umbrellas to slow-burn sparks Brings together Southeast Asia's biggest fandoms in a cinematic crossover that celebrates love, rain, and cultural connection NEW DELHI, June 25, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Crocs, a world leader in innovative casual footwear for all, is bringing monsoon flair to the forefront with its most regionally immersive campaign yet, spanning seven key Southeast Asian markets including India, China, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines. The visually rich and emotionally charged campaign fuses two of Asia's most beloved cultural phenomena: the irresistible emotion of K-dramas and the unmistakable flair of Bollywood, starring young heartthrobs from South Korea and India, Chae Soobin and Siddhant Chaturvedi. Shot through the lens of the iconic 'enemies-to-lovers' K-drama trope, the film blends rain-drenched tension, stolen glances and cinematic visuals with a bold cultural twist. At its heart is Siddhant Chaturvedi as a stoic industrial chaebol-turned-tycoon whose carefully controlled world is upended by Chae Soobin — a free-spirited creative who wears her heart on her sleeve. Their personalities clash, but the rain has other plans, pulling them into a story that feels both larger-than-life and emotionally grounded. The campaign strategically taps into Asia's surging K-drama wave, channeling it through a uniquely local lens with Bollywood sensibilities. Crocs become the unexpected symbol of connection and individuality, with the narrative brought to life through signature K-drama aesthetics — from soft lighting and dramatic close-ups to Hangul signage and slow-burn romance. At the centre of it all are the monsoon-special Jibbitz™ charms: not just accessories, but powerful tools of self-expression. In a pivotal scene, Soobin gifts a Korean heart Jibbitz™ charm to Siddhant — a gesture that says what words can't and brings their love story full circle. Commenting on the launch of the campaign, Yann Le Bozec, Head of Crocs International Marketing, said, "Monsoon is one of our most important commercial moments across Asia, and Crocs is built for it - both functionally and emotionally. This campaign is a bold step in cultural storytelling, blending the rising influence of K-dramas with the timeless appeal of Bollywood through a pairing that's unexpected yet perfectly in sync. In India, our launch of Monsoon Special Jibbitz™ charms further deepens local relevance, reflecting our commitment to tapping into meaningful moments with creativity and intent." Conceptualized and produced by Kulfi Collective, the campaign cleverly blends familiar K-drama aesthetics with the magnetic flair of Bollywood, creating a one-of-a-kind narrative that reflects Crocs' mission to celebrate individuality and self-expression. Akshat Gupt, Co-founder & CCO, Kulfi Collective, added, "With this campaign, we wanted to do more than just make an ad—we wanted to tap into the pulse of pop culture across Asia. By combining the emotional pull of K-dramas with the star power of Bollywood, we created something that feels deeply familiar yet fresh. It's a tribute to the fans, to the format, and to Crocs as a canvas for self-expression. This is cultural storytelling at its most playful and most powerful." The campaign is now live across digital and social platforms in all seven markets. This 360-degree campaign comes to life across digital, social, retail and immersive brand experiences - inviting consumers to embrace the season through bold self-expression. In India, Crocs introduces monsoon-specific Jibbitz™ charms alongside fresh seasonal colorways like Mint Tint and Frosted Blue in its Classic silhouettes, perfectly curated for the rains. Shoppers can explore these styles on Myntra and at select Crocs stores nationwide. For the first time, the campaign is also brought to life through elevated visual merchandising and sensory in-store experiences - from monsoon-inspired installations to signature fragrances and themed beverages - allowing fans to truly step into the spirit of the season while discovering their favourites. PUBG Developer Krafton To Buy Japanese Animation Company For $517 Million
Chang Byung-gyu, founder and chairman of Krafton. Jean Chung/Bloomberg South Korean billionaire Chang Byung-gyu's online gaming giant Krafton has agreed to acquire Japanese advertising and animation production company ADK Holdings for 75 billion yen ($517 million). Krafton, the developer of the mega-hit PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) online game, said in a statement on Tuesday it's acquiring ADK from Bain Capital Japan. ADK was founded in 1956 as an advertising agency in Tokyo. Since then, the company has expanded into digital marketing and animation production. ADK has participated in more than 300 animation productions for intellectual properties including Crayon Shin-chan and Doraemon. Krafton said in the statement that it seeks to expand its gaming IPs into animation. 'ADK is a partner with deep understanding and strong execution capabilities across Japan's content industry,' said Krafton CEO Kim Chang-han. 'Through our collaboration, we aim to continuously discover new intersections between games and animation, and create new opportunities in the global content business.' Krafton's deal to buy ADK comes as the online gaming giant is trying to diversify its revenue stream after years of dependence on its battle royale game PUBG . In March, Krafton released inZOI , a life-simulation game similar to Electronic Arts' the Sims . The company said it sold more than a million copies of inZOI in its first week, which helped boost Krafton's first-quarter sales to a record-high of 874.2 billion won ($641 million). inZOI's concurrent players, however, have dropped more than 98% since its launch as of Tuesday, according to gaming data tracker SteamDB. While inZOI appears to be losing steam, Krafton is going on a spending spree to expand its portfolio. In February, the company led a $53 million funding round in Indian payments startup Cashfree Payments. The investment was part of Krafton's strategy to strengthen its presence in India, a key market to Krafton where its Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) is among the country's most popular mobile games. It came after Krafton injected $90 million in Spoon Labs, a Seoul-based company that operates a short-form K-drama streaming platform, last September. Baekhyun Shines At 1st US Concert: Review, Setlist of Reverie Tour
Baekhyun performs at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey for the 2025 BAEKHYUN WORLD TOUR ... More 'Reverie.' As part of Baekhyun's 'Reverie' World Tour, the K-pop superstar's first-ever U.S. solo concert at Newark's Prudential Center was a dreamy experience as the Tri-state area was locked in a record-breaking heat wave. But the arena's atmosphere inside quickly turned into one of anticipation over exhaustion the moment the lights dimmed. As the anthemic synths of his 2018 single 'YOUNG' burst through the speakers, Baekhyun stood center stage, headset mic in place, utilizing the opening up-tempo tracks like 'Ghost' and 2024 hit 'Pineapple Slice' to quickly establish his commitment to giving his all equally in choreography and vocals. Despite battling a stubborn cold since performing his Latin America tour dates just a day earlier, Baekhyun's June 23 show saw the star powering through every choreography-driven note and vocal run as though nothing were amiss. He swapped effortlessly between headset and handheld microphones, performing intensely choreographed pieces alongside more relaxed ones where he could showcase playful vocal runs. 'You guys waited so long for me, right?' he asked the crowd early in the show. 'To be honest, I was really worried going into this world tour, so thank you so much for so many of you guys being here today. For as much as you guys are giving up your time to be here with me tonight, I will give you a memory that you won't forget.' While Bakehyun has toured the States with his boy bands EXO and SuperM (including two past EXO concerts at Prudential Center), the 'Reverie' tour setlist leaned exclusively on Baekhyun's solo catalog, giving fans a chance to rediscover lesser-known b-sides alongside the chart-topping hits. One highlight came in 'Underwater,' where dark blue lighting bathed the stage as his background dancers mimicked ocean current swirls to spotlight the haunting R&B ballad from his 2020 Delight album. Later songs like 'Lemonade' unleashed his sunnier side, complete with buoyant choreography and lyrics dancing across the giant LED screens backing him, allowing the audience to better clap and sing along. Meanwhile, darker tracks like 'Cold Heart' and a special band arrangement of 'Psycho' revealed a more enigmatic facet of his performance style, as he and a masked backup dancer mirrored one another's movements to bring the intensity of the latter electro-pop track to life. Baekhyun beamed between songs, visibly savoring this milestone in a new corner of the world with his recently dyed blonde locks catching the stage lights to frame his many big, boyish smiles. While Baekhyun's chocolate-brown hair during the Essence of Reverie promotions lent him a mature air, the tour's platinum blonde hue underscored his playful spirit, one that shone with every wide-eyed glance and genuine laugh. BAEKHYUN performs live at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey as part of the 2025 BAEKHYUN ... More WORLD TOUR 'Reverie.' 'The last time I had a concert, I wasn't able to do a world tour,' Baekhyun later told the crowd, referencing last year's Lonsdaleite Tour that only visited Asia. 'I thought it was such a relief that this time I could do a world tour.' A world tour spanning North and South America, Europe, Australia, and Asia is one of the latest major moves Baekhyun has made in his solo career since the recent launch of his new label INB 100, which also houses his EXO band mates Chen and Xiumin. Before Newark's night of 'Reverie' ended, Baekhyun noted that, 'I think music unites us all.' That sentiment was wholly clear when the entire arena joined in a singalong for his 2020 single, 'Amusement Park,' as an LED screen displayed the lyrics in English and Korean before his encore began. 'Amusement Park' is a light, airy R&B-pop pre-release buzz track for Baekhyun's third mini album, Bambi, that was not heavily promoted in Korea but still had an entire arena singing along. Baekhyun was right: the music truly did unite everyone. Extreme weather and colds might not have been the ideal conditions for Baekhyun's first U.S. concert. Even still, Baekhyun only paused once near the show's end to cough and clear his throat. However, what rang true was his commitment to being the all-around professional superstar, hitting major new milestones in his career more than a decade after his debut.
