BTS Is Back: K-pop Supergroup's Anniversary Ushers in Long-Awaited Reunion

All members of BTS reunited last weekend, amid their 12th anniversary, following the completion of their mandatory military service. In celebration of their debut anniversary, a yearly event dubbed 'Festa,' was held over two weeks with both in-person and online activities that attracted 60,000 visitors, according to a release. On June 13 and 14, fans of the group — known collectively as ARMY — flocked to the INTEX Exhibition Center 2 in Goyang, South Korea, which leveled up in scale from events of previous years. Photo zones were installed along Goyang's Ilsan Lake Park. Coinciding with the group's celebration was the conclusion of member J-Hope's solo world tour, Hope on the Stage, with a two-night encore concert. On June 13, the first night of the series, all seven BTS members were spotted in attendance. Jin and Jung Kook joined J-Hope on stage, performing solo songs — 'Don't Say You Love Me' and 'Seven (feat. Latto),' respectively — and BTS songs including 'Jamais Vu' with J-Hope. The show and anniversary marked the end of a busy week for the group as members RM, V, Jimin and Jung Kook were discharged from their mandatory military service earlier that week, joining already released J-Hope and Jin. Suga is currently completing his mandatory military service as social work personnel, so while he was able to attend with his group members, he has not been officially discharged. BigHit Music, BTS' label under Korean entertainment giant Hybe, announced Wednesday that Suga is close to completing his service and will be discharged soon. Fans of the group have long awaited their return, although each member of the group found success with their solo work that has been released throughout the two-year enlistment period. In October 2022, BTS performed a massive free concert, titled Yet to Come, in Busan, South Korea. The concert, which was in support of the Korean city's bid for the 2030 World Expo, brought legions of ARMY from around the world. Days after the performance, BigHit Music announced that all seven members would be moving forward with plans to fulfill their military service, saying it was 'the perfect time' and that the group's members were honored to serve. j-hope of BTS Makes Surprise Appearance at Night 2 of BLACKPINK's DEADLINE World Tour

The worlds of K-pop's biggest boy band and girl group collided over the weekend, with j-hope of BTS showing support for BLACKPINK by pulling up to the second night of the DEADLINE World Tour on Sunday (July 6). In a video shared by Billboard Korea on Instagram, j-hope is escorted to his seat at Goyang Stadium in Goyang, South Korea, where ROSÉ, LISA, JENNIE and JISOO played two back-to-back shows to kick off their first full-band trek in two years. Excited fans cheer and snap videos as the boy-band star — looking suave in an open button-down shirt and shades — passes by. BLACKPINK's shows in Goyang put an end to a two-year band break, during which the four members focused on solo music (some of which they performed in between full-group numbers over the weekend). It's possible j-hope attended Night 2 to take notes on his own band's upcoming reunion, with BTS set to come back together in 2026 now that the members' respective times in the South Korean military have concluded. 'We'll be releasing a new BTS album in the spring of next year,' the band announced in a joint statement on July 1. 'Starting in July, all seven of us will begin working closely together on new music … We're also planning a world tour alongside the new album. We'll be visiting fans all around the world, so we hope you're as excited as we are.' BTS last dropped an album in 2020, with Be topping the Billboard 200 in December that year. Similarly to BLACKPINK, the seven members of the boy band each experimented with solo music during their time apart, with j-hope dropping EP Hope On The Street, Vol.1 in 2024. Most recently, he released singles 'Mona Lisa' and 'Killin' It Girl' featuring GloRilla in March and June, respectively. 'After pursuing our own little ventures, we are now coming back together, and I love that for us,' j-hope told Weverse Magazine of BTS' upcoming reunion in December. 'When we're all back together as a group, it's going to have a huge impact, and everybody's going to be watching. I'm excited to see what it'll feel like when we perform together again. I want to come back in style and say, 'This is us. This is BTS.'' BLACKPINK Shares Edgy ‘JUMP' Music Video Teaser After Debuting Song at DEADLINE Tour Kickoff

BLACKPINK is returning to your area, with the band dropping a teaser for the upcoming music video to new song 'JUMP' on Monday (July 7), just a few days after premiering the track live on the DEADLINE World Tour. In the 30-second clip, viewers are guided around a cityscape rife with glamorous billboards devoted to each of the band's members: ROSÉ, LISA, JENNIE and JISOO. As an electronic dance beat ramps up in intensity, the camera then zooms in on a brick wall showcasing a mural of BLACKPINK, with each of the four real-life performers standing against their painted counterparts in edgy black outfits. Pink text then reveals that the full music video — and presumably the song — will drop at midnight ET on Friday (July 11). BLACKPINK hasn't shared new music since 2023's 'The Girls,' which the foursome released specially for Blackpink The Game. Before that came 2022 album Born Pink, which topped the Billboard 200. In the years since dropping their last LP as a band, ROSÉ, LISA, JENNIE and JISOO have spent some time apart working on solo projects. Their break finally ended, however, on Saturday (July 5) with the kickoff DEADLINE World Tour concert at Goyang Stadium in South Korea, during which they gave 'JUMP' its live debut before performing the song a second time toward the end of the show. Following two performances in Goyang — the second of which BTS' j-hope attended — BLACKPINK will now spend most of the rest of 2025 traveling through different cities around the world. The foursome's next DEADLINE shows will take place July 12-13 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. The ladies have also teased that more new music will follow on the heels of 'JUMP.'
