I'm so pretty men shout at me in the street – but I'm a 24-year-old virgin, here's the reason I'm scared to have sex

CASUALLY strolling down the street, Emma is forced to pick up pace as a group of lads beging catcalling.
She tries her best to ignore them but the insults 's**t' and 's**g' are ringing in her ears.

It's not the first time she's had slurs lobbed at her, but the irony is that promiscuity couldn't be further from the truth for Emma.
In fact, at the age of 24 she is still a virgin.
'Some people may say I don't look like a stereotypical virgin, but I don't think a virgin should have a particular look,' she tells Fabulous in this exclusive interview.
'I think any woman who wants to protect her vulnerability should not be labelled.
'I used to walk down the street and people would call me a 's**g' and a 's**t' and I used to thinking, 'I'm a f*****g virgin'.
'It's funny that people have a perception of women who are good looking and would expect us to all be a certain way.'
While Emma may have shunned sex thus far, she is hoping to change that by taking part in a groundbreaking new programme.
The Aussie, who moved to Portsmouth before the pandemic, is set to appear on Channel 4 's new show, Virgin Island, alongside 11 other singletons who have never had sex before.
The shocking production will document the highs and lows of a group of young adults embarking on their 'erotic awakening'.
Emma has never had a boyfriend, and before joining the show, her most intimate experience was snogging a stranger in a nightclub.
I'm a 33 year old virgin - I'm waiting for my perfect match
Despite her good looks and charming personality, she dealt with self-esteem issues as a teenager, which prevented her from taking things to the next level with lads as she grew into adulthood.
'I always thought, 'I look like a dog' and thought nobody would want to walk down the street holding my hand - so why would they want to be in a relationship with me?' she says.
'I feel like I would need to have a connection with someone to have good intimacy.
'If you have a one-night stand from a club, they expect you to know what you're doing and have all the skills in the world - and they probably want you to act like a pornstar in the bedroom.
'All of that is a bit awkward to do when you are a virgin.'
This translated into how she interacted with men, even those who she wasn't attracted to.
'Even if it was a man who I didn't fancy or didn't like the look of, I still felt awkward around them,' she says. 'I don't know why.'
Emma made the decision to appear on Channel 4's new show, which aims to teach virgins how to have sex, after a casting call popped up on her Instagram feed.

It was requesting people who were aged over 21 and still virgins to get in touch, so Emma did.
'When I was applying, I thought it was an incredible concept for a show and it's good that people want to speak about it,' she says.
'I think being a virgin is something people don't want to talk about
'When you hit your twenties, people start to make comments and see you as an innocent being - and they want to protect you.
'They think you can't be a bad b**** and have strong energy if you haven't had sex - but I don't feel like that is the case.'
Emma admits that the show has changed her opinion on sex, and she now realises she doesn't have to be in a relationship to lose her virginity.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM VIRGIN ISLAND
The Channel 4 show, called Virgin Island, will see a group of men and women brought together for their erotic awakening.
Producers hope the virginal participants will pop each other's cherries.
However if that fails then they will turn to help from specialists known as 'sex surrogates'.
A TV insider said: 'There's never been a TV show that pushes the boundaries quite like this — and probably never will be again.
'The aim is to hopefully have all the virgins find each other attractive, but if that fails then this is the plan B.
'These people are professionals who are constantly on hand for anything that may be required.'
Sex surrogates are professionals in the field of intimacy and are often deployed on the advice of medical professionals.
Sessions can begin with discussions about intimacy.
They then move on to touching which can lead to other sexual practices, with any psychological or physical issues gradually overcome.
'As long as it's a mutual connection and both people understand, then it's fine," she says.
Emma, a self-confessed 'people pleaser', added that the best bit of advice she received while filming Virgin Island was to just do what's best for her.
Since filming, she's felt more empowered to build connections with men - and even finds herself being more touchy-feely with her male friends.
That being said, Emma is still yet to lose her virginity and is keen to break down stereotypes of what virgins look like.
When it finally does happen, she's not fussed about it being the most romantic moment of her life.
'A couple of years ago, I used to want the whole hotel room with petals laid out, balloons spelling 'will you be my girlfriend?' and then we have sex,' she says.
'But now, that's actually really cringe to me.
'It doesn't need to be a big song and dance. When it happens naturally, that's the best time for it.
'I'm glad I don't want to go down the relationship route anymore.'
Virgin Island premieres tonight on Channel 4 at 9pm and will also be available to stream on Channel4.com.

Patti Newton set to make shock TV comeback on huge Aussie show - but her return to screens all depends on her troubled son Matthew

Australian showbusiness royalty Patti Newtown is said to be being courted by Channel 10 for the upcoming 12th season of I'm a Celebrity!... Get Me Out of Here! The 80-year-old, who is recovering from a recent full hip replacement, is reportedly seriously considering a short stint in the South African jungle for a plum offer of between $180,000 and $200,000. Producers of the Logie-nominated TV series, co-hosted by Julia Morris and Robert Irwin, are said to have set their sights on the beloved widow of Bert Newton after veteran stars Kerri-Ann Kennerly and Denise Drysdale proved a ratings hit. 'Patti Newton was actually invited to take part in the first season in 2015,' an anonymous insider told Woman's Day. 'But at the time, with husband Bert still alive and her family commitments taking priority, she gracefully declined.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'She's in good health, up for an adventure and, if the deal's right, she could be ready to pack her bags!' the insider added. However, the mum-of-two and grandmother-of-six will not budge on one particular stipulation - her US-based son Mathew, 48, is off-limits. I'm a Celebrity! has proved its staying power as a popular reality format—thanks to its unique blend of celebrity drama, challenging trials and relatable human interactions. Viewers are drawn to the spectacle of pampered celebrities facing unusual hardships, but more so the nuanced, and often surprisingly profound, conversations the stars have amongst themselves. 'The deal is close but with some important boundaries in place. Patti's made it clear that if she heads into the jungle, she won't be talking about Matthew,' the source told the magazine. Matthew hasn't been home to Australia in years, and did not return for the funeral of his late TV legend father in 2021. The Looking for Alibrandi star has been enjoying a quiet and anonymous life in Austin, Texas, with his wife Catherine Schneiderman. He relocated to the US after a series of highly-publicised scandals, including domestic violence allegations from two former girlfriends, Australian actresses Brooke Satchwell and Rachael Taylor. Stipulation or no, signing Patti would be a massive win for Ten. Producers are quietly confident they will be able to land Patti and are beginning medical assessments to work out which challenges will be safe for the 80-year-old to undertake. Speaking to Daily Mail Australia in 2021, Patti said the Australian press were 'just desperate to find a little glitch into (Mathew and Bert's relationship'. She also hit out at cruel reports Bert was estranged from their son when he died. 'I've had so many conversations with him,' she said at the time. 'We had a conversation last night and all the family were here. (The media) want to make it a rift, but there was no rift. There was never a rift with Bert. 'All that baloney about Matthew's devastating childhood - I mean, I have two children, Lauren and Matthew both had the same childhood. They both had a wonderful childhood.' Lauren and her two children were seen arriving at the family home to comfort Patti after the news broke. 'Lauren was more placid and easier to get along with, but there was never any major dramas or anything,' she said. Patti said she and Bert had stood firmly behind Matthew during his darkest days in 2006 when he was charged over an assault on his then-girlfriend. 'The major dramas were when Matthew was in Sydney and he had his major dramas, but it was really nothing to do with us and as most parents say: "you can only be there for your children". And we've always been around,' she said. 'And Bert more than me really. He was always saying "have we spoken to Matthew, have we done enough and have we said enough".' Patti said she flew to Sydney to support Matthew during his various court appearances. The matriarch renewed her showbiz career as a way to cope with the loss of her beloved husband, who died at the age of 83.

Tammy Hembrow's best friend appears to confirm split rumours between the influencer and her husband Matt Zukowski

Tammy Hembrow and Matt Zukowski have been the subject of split rumours for months, and it appears her best friend may be the one to finally confirm them. The fitness influencer, 31, recently shared an emotional video to Instagram saying she is going through some 'heavy stuff'. Though she did not reveal if she had broken-up with her husband, 29, Tammy's friend Isabella Laws was seen liking a post which linked the clip to a potential split. Isabella also previously made headlines for unfollowing Matt on Instagram, and to this day has still not re-followed him. Notably, she still follows Tammy's second fiancé Matt Poole, with whom Tammy shares two-year-old Posey - one of her three children. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, It comes after Tammy admitted she is going through some 'heavy stuff' in an emotional video on Tuesday amid the rampant split rumours about her and Matt. The influencer struggled to keep her composure as she opened up about challenges she is currently dealing with and thanked her followers for their understanding. 'I just want to say thank you to everyone, I have been dealing with some heavy stuff. I feel like people can tell,' she said. 'I definitely don't like to pretend I am okay when I am not,' Tammy continued as she tried not to break down in tears. 'I feel like I have been trying to do that for a little while because I have so much I have to focus on. I just feel like pretending is doing me more harm than good.' Tammy added she would not go into detail about what she is going through, but asked her followers to be 'kind'. 'Reminder to be kind always. Everyone has something they're going through, so big hugs to anyone that needs it right now,' she added. In the video, she was not wearing her wedding and engagement rings. She later admitted she couldn't get through the clip and posted a final thank you to her 'online community' for being there for her. Just hours earlier Tammy shared a cryptic post saying 'when something feels off it is usually women's intuition'. Meanwhile, husband Matt has also ramped up rumours his whirlwind romance with Tammy may be over after posting footage of himself going to the movies solo. Fans also noticed he was absent from Tammy's 31st birthday celebrations. Sources close to the couple previously told Daily Mail Australia the pair are 'on a break', with Matt relocating back to Melbourne. 'Matt and Tammy are on a break. They're not saying it's over for good, but for now they're taking time apart,' the insider revealed. 'They're both emotional people, and they've decided to put their marriage on pause for now.' Tammy and Matt began dating in mid-2023, after he slid into her DMs, and were engaged just three months later. They tied the knot in a lavish ceremony at Chateau Du Soleil in Byron Bay in November.
