Who is AJ Styles? All About WWE Star and His Return to TNA at Slammiversary 2025 Being Big Deal

AJ Styles made a surprise return to TNA Wrestling at Slammiversary 2025, marking his first appearance with the company in over a decade. The moment took place at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, where nearly 7,000 fans erupted as his old theme song, Get Ready to Fly, played through the arena. Styles appeared shortly after 20-year-old Leon Slater defeated Moose to win the X-Division Championship. Slater became the youngest X-Division Champion in TNA history. Styles congratulated him, saying, 'TNA, did you miss me?' as fans responded with loud cheers and chants of 'Welcome home!' AJ Styles praises Leon Slater and reflects on his past In the ring, AJ Styles praised Slater and the current state of the X-Division. He said, 'The division has a bright future with him.' Fans then chanted for 'one more match,' hoping for a return to action from the 48-year-old wrestler. Styles did not confirm any future matches, saying only, 'We'll get to that.' His return follows the multi-year partnership between WWE and TNA announced in January. This agreement has led to talent exchanges between WWE's NXT and TNA. Notably, Joe Hendry, a former TNA World Champion, appeared at both the WWE Royal Rumble and WrestleMania this year. Who is AJ Styles and why is his return celebrated? AJ Styles is one of the most respected professional wrestlers in the industry. He wrestled for TNA from 2002 to 2014, where he became the first X-Division Champion and later the company's first Triple Crown and Grand Slam Champion. He held the TNA World Heavyweight Title five times and was known for his high-flying, athletic style. His match against Samoa Joe and Christopher Daniels at Unbreakable 2005 is still regarded as one of the greatest matches in professional wrestling history. Styles helped shape TNA's identity during its most important years and played a key role in the popularity of the X-Division. Before appearing at Slammiversary, Styles posted a message to fans titled 'Two Eras. One Legacy. AJ Returns.' In it, he reflected on his journey and growth as a wrestler. "If I had the ability to go back in time, I'd tell myself, 'You have no idea how far this ride's about to take you,'" Styles wrote. He added, "All the ups, the downs, the doubts, they're gonna shape you into one of the best in the world." "Don't lose that chip on your shoulder, but learn when to let go of your pride," he continued. "Stay humble, stay hungry, and trust God's timing, it's perfect, even when it doesn't feel like it. You're not just phenomenal. You're built for this." Is AJ Styles returning to TNA full-time? It is not confirmed whether Styles will continue appearing in TNA Wrestling. He is still an active WWE superstar and has not officially announced a return run. His Slammiversary appearance could be a one-time event or part of future cross-brand moments. Fans remain hopeful that AJ Styles will wrestle at least one more match in TNA. His influence on the company and the wrestling world is significant, and his presence at Slammiversary 2025 reminded fans why he is considered one of the greatest of all time.

The show emanated live from the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas witnessed a shocking turn in the storyline when Solo Sikoa was arrested by police for framing a car crash for his arch rival and Bloodline member Jacob Fatu. During the segment, SmackDown General Manager Adam Pearce orchestrated an elaborate search operation where United States Champion Solo Sikoa was caught for causing an accident. Later, the segment culminated with Pearce announcing that Sikoa will defend his title against his cousin, Jacob Fatu, inside a Steel Cage at SummerSlam. But, what is the real reason behind Sikoa's misdeed? The real reason behind Solo Sikoa's car crash that led to his arrest On the July 18 episode of WWE SmackDown , the Stamford-based promotion opened with a mysterious police scene in the parking lot where an accident had reportedly taken place involving members of Solo Sikoa's faction, MFT. The real reason behind the staged car crash was to announce and confirm a match card between Solo Sikoa and Jacon Fatu for the upcoming SummerSlam 2025 . The storyline actually unfolded when some individuals dressed as police officers approached GM Adam Pearce and identified Jacob Fatu as the person who caused an accident. After a tense conversation, Fatu refused, but Pearce convinced him to go with the officers for questioning. With Fatu seemingly in custody, Solo Sikoa, accompanied by Tonga Loa, JC Mateo, and Tala Tonga, came to the ring and addressed the situation. Solo Sikoa gets arrested!!!! In the segment, Sikoa was seen taking credit for Fatu's entire WWE career, condemning his recent betrayal. Attacking Fatu, Solo said, 'Without his guidance, Jacob is reckless… All he cares about is his damn self. He betrayed his family. Once a criminal, always a criminal.' However, the tables turned when Fatu was released from the police car backstage, where his cousin Jimmy Uso was waiting for him. The cops informed Fatu that they had reviewed the footage and he was free to go. The two then immediately headed towards the ring. Pearce declared, officially announcing the match. 'You will defend the US Title against Fatu in a steel cage.' 'He Is In So Much Trouble': Daniel Cormier Reveals Brock Lesnar Is On Ban List

Last Updated: The 46-year-old former UFC champion revealed that the wrestler was in the doghouse, but held back from discussing the issue that merited Lesnar's place on the banned list Former UFC Champion Daniel Cormier revealed that wrestling superstar Brock Lesnar has been on a ban list when quizzed if the two of them could be seen in the ring anytime soon. Speaking on the 'Mightycats' podcast, the 46-year-old fighter held back from discussing the issue that merited Lesnar's place on the banned list and also fell short of mentioning if the ban was imposed by WWE or the parent company TKO. — FADE (@FadeAwayMedia) July 19, 2025 'Brock is on the ban list right now," Cormier said. 'Dude, Brock got into so much trouble," he added. 'I ain't telling you on air what Brock did. Brock is in so much trouble," Cormier addressed the question. While nothing has been revealed it is likely that Lesnar has been on the ban list following former WWE employee Janel Grant's lawsuit against Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis and WWE, in which Lesar was identified too. Reports suggest that McMahon had attempted to traffic Grant to Lesnar during negotiations over contract back in the year 2021. Lesnar, who was pulled from the Royal Rumble roster amid the scandal, previously appeared on the WWE during his bout with Cody Rhodes in Summerslam 2023. All plans and storylines the creative team had in mind for Lesnar would have to wait as the wrestler looks unlikely to get back int the ring before the legal proceedings have played out in the full. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
