
BisB supports Down Syndrome initiatives
Bahrain Islamic Bank has signed a strategic partnership with the Bahrain Down Syndrome Society in a move that puts inclusion and community empowerment at the heart of its corporate social responsibility efforts.
The agreement, signed on Wednesday, commits BisB to supporting year-round activities by the Society, which advocates for individuals with Down syndrome and their families across the Kingdom. The bank's Jood volunteering team will offer logistical and moral support through its community engagement channels, further aligning its public engagement strategy with national inclusion goals.
BisB Chief Executive Officer Fatema AlAlawi described the partnership as part of the bank's broader mission to empower all segments of society through lasting social impact. 'We are pleased to sign this agreement with Bahrain Down Syndrome Society as part of our unwavering commitment to social responsibility,' she said. 'We believe this collaboration will create a tangible positive impact by supporting the Society's programmes and initiatives, in line with our vision of fostering sustainable community partnerships.'

Echoing this sentiment, Executive Director of Bahrain Down Syndrome Society Ahmed AlAli welcomed the partnership as a major step in advancing inclusion. 'This agreement with Bahrain Islamic Bank represents a strategic step that underscores the importance of institutional partnerships in advancing social inclusion and community integration,' he said.
He added that the collaboration would help expand the Society's reach and increase the effectiveness of its programmes. 'We remain committed to working together to achieve sustainable outcomes that benefit individuals with Down syndrome and their families.'

Bahrain Islamic Bank (BisB), the leading provider of innovative Islamic financial solutions for simplifying money matters in the Kingdom of Bahrain, has announced the expansion of its Tejoori Premium investment product with the addition of two new segments: 'Tejoori Saver' and 'Tejoori Saver Lite'. The move aims to make the benefits of the Tejoori programme more accessible to a wider customer base, in line with the Bank's objective to promote long-term financial wellbeing. The newly introduced accounts operate under the same principles as Tejoori Premium, offering Sharia'a compliant returns, medical insurance, and eligibility for the Bank's popular Tejoori Al Islami and Tejoori Premium raffles. However, the 'Saver' and 'Saver Lite' accounts cater to customers with lower minimum deposit requirements, making them ideal for individual savers, SME owners and entrepreneurs seeking stable returns and added benefits. 'Tejoori Saver Lite' is available for deposits ranging from BHD 10,000 to BHD 24,999. 'As for Tejoori Saver', it is designated for deposits ranging between BHD 25,000 and BHD 49,999. Both accounts include upfront profit payment, silver medical insurance coverage (for Tejoori Saver only), and access to a Signature Credit Card with pledged deposit collateral. BisB grooms youth for finance sector
Bahrain Islamic Bank (BisB) has concluded its 2025 summer internship programme, offering 21 university students hands-on experience across key departments in the bank. The initiative comes amid growing calls for stronger alignment between academic education and the real-world demands of Islamic banking. The interns received tailored training in retail banking, corporate and institutional banking, operations, IT, finance, and com - pli - ance. BisB said t h e programme was designed to provide 'practical knowledge and skills that are critical to success in today's banking sector.' Talent pipeline support As Bahrain's Islamic finance sector continues to grow, banks are increasingly looking to cultivate homegrown talent. BisB's internship programme is part of a broader effort to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and workplace readiness. Acting Chief Human Resources Officer, Hussain Al Hakim, said the programme highlights BisB's commitment to national workforce detvelopment. 'We aim to prepare the next generation of professionals by giving them real-world experience, not just theoretical exposure,' he said. 'We take pride in developing future leaders who understand the values of Islamic banking and the dynamics of the financial sector.' Beyond the internship BisB has delivered over 35,000 hours of training through its internal development and internship initiatives, reflecting a longterm strategy to build a resilient and well-equipped workforce.
