'Maalik' box office collections day 8: Rajkummar Rao starrer sees a steep drop; collections dip below Rs 1 cr
's 'Maalik' has hit a rough patch at the box office as it entered its second week. On Day 8, the film collected just Rs 60 lakhs. This marks a steep fall of over 55% compared to its Thursday earnings.
'Maalik's total domestic net collection now stands at Rs 21.79 crore, as reported by the Sacnilk website.
While some drop after the first week is common, the extent of the fall has raised concerns about the film's hold in its second weekend. The national occupancy average was 12.38%,. It had a slightly better turnout during night shows at 21.74%.
Strong Opening Weekend, But Will It Sustain?
'Maalik' had a promising start with Rs 14.25 crore collected in its opening weekend.
The weekdays that followed saw a steady decline. But it is not an alarming one, until the second Friday's sharp drop. If Saturday and Sunday can bring even a moderate surge, the film may still find some stability going forward.
Performances Keep the Buzz Alive
The film is a political crime drama directed by Pulkit. The film tells the story of a small-time gangster's rise to power. Critics and audiences alike have praised the cast, especially Rajkummar Rao, whose performance has been widely appreciated.

With the weekend now underway, Maalik's future at the box office hangs in the balance. A rebound could revive its momentum—or confirm its slowdown.

"Double The Size Of My Hand": Food Blogger Reacts To Haridwar's Gigantic 20-Inch Samosa
A crispy golden crust, a spicy potato filling, and that unmistakable triangle: the samosa is easily one of India's most beloved snacks. But what if it came supersized? A video currently doing rounds on social media shows a food blogger introducing his followers to what he claims is India's largest samosa, measuring 20 inches. ' India ka sabse bada 20-inch ka samosa milta hai Haridwar mein (India's largest 20-inch samosa is available in Haridwar),' he says. As the camera pans, we get to see the street food vendor seated inside the snacks shop while the content creator asks, ' Suna hai duniya ka sabse bada samosa milta hai yaha (I have heard that the world's biggest samosa is available here).' The shopkeeper replies, " Ji bhaiya (yes, brother), 20-inch ka samosa." The food blogger then compares the size of his palm to the samosa, exclaiming, ' Yeh mere haath se double samosa hain (This samosa is double the size of my hand).' Showing the largest samosa, the blogger says, ' Hindustan ka sabse bada samosa aur ye gaya aaram se steam bath karne, sona bath karne garma garam tel mein (India's biggest samosa went straight into the hot oil),' pointing towards the huge container as the 20-inch samosa is all set for deep frying. The shopkeeper also informed him that they fry the samosas in soybean oil and refined oil for the scrumptious taste. The unique samosa is then served to the blogger, accompanied by two types of chutneys - one sweet and another made of dhaniya and pudina (coriander and mint). The blogger mentions, ' Ohh bhaisaab itna bhari, just look at this gigantic samosa (Oh, it's so heavy, just look at this gigantic samosa).' He continues, ' Bhaisaab mere haath mein abhi duniya ka sabse bada, 20 inch ka samosa hai (I have the world's biggest 20 inch samosa in my hand right now),' and even compares the size with his face. He then cracks open the snack item, showcasing its fillings of paneer, potato, matar and a lot of dried fruits. In the concluding note, he states, ' Iss samosa ko miss mat karna. Bada hone ke saath saath tasty bhi hai (Don't miss this samosa. It is huge as well as tasty).' Take a look at the video here: View this post on Instagram A post shared by Foodpandits! Box Office: Saiyaara enters the Rs 100 crore club in 4 days flat; Monday higher than Friday for Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda starrer
Saiyaara, directed by Mohit Suri and starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda is enjoying a gravity-defying run at the box office. After a stellar first weekend of Rs 82 crore net, the movie has collected Rs 22.25 - 22.75 crore on day 4. To put things into perspective, the collections are higher than the opening Friday, and the footfalls are higher than both Friday and Saturday. Total collections of Saiyaara stand at Rs 104.50 crore and we are witnessing history right before our eyes. The Day Wise India Net Collections Of Saiyaara Are As Under Saiyaara Nets Higher Than Opening Day On First Monday; A First For A Film With A Rs 20 Crore Plus Net India Start Saiyaara is a box office force like none other, in recent memory. We have never had a Rs 20 crore plus net India opener, actually growing in collections on non-Holiday Monday. It has become the first film featuring debutants to enter the Rs 100 crore club. For it to enter the club in just 4 days is unbelievable. With Saiyaara, the total number of Rs 100 crore plus India net grossers from Bollywood in 2025 stand at 7, the other 6 being Chhaava, Housefull 5, Raid 2, Sitaare Zameen Par, Sky Force and Sikandar. The bookings are robust for 'Discount Tuesday' with footfalls sure to be higher than Monday. If the collections see a drop on Tuesday, it will likely be due to low average ticket prices. A week one of Rs 160 crore net is certain, and that means the lifetime collections of this year's biggies Housefull 5, Raid 2 and Sitaare Zameen Par will mostly be breached in 7 days flat. To note, this phenomenon is occuring for a film that was expected to open to Rs 3 - 4 crore, a week before release, with the ceiling being Rs 5 crore. Expectations for the Mohit Suri film increased once the pre-bookings started. But still, a Rs 20 crore plus day one number was something that never crossed anyone's mind. Now, the film is on course for a lifetime number that will be remembered for decades. International Markets Have Also Got On Board For Saiyaara The collections of the film being higher on Monday than the opening day is not just an India-wide phenomenon. The international markets have got on board. With Monday bookings in sync with the first Saturday, the romantic-drama is set for a lifetime number of over USD 10 million.
