Five-star safety Jireh Edwards sets commitment date, Auburn named a finalist
Auburn football has recruited Maryland well recently, specifically St. Frances Academy in Baltimore.
Four players on Auburn's 2025 roster, including UConn transfer running back Durell Robinson and true freshman cornerback Blake Woodby are proud alumni of St. Frances, and three-star safety Wayne Henry has already pledged to Auburn's 2026 class. Despite landing many former players of the Maryland football power, Auburn still wants more.
St. Frances safety Jireh Edwards revealed this week that he will announce his commitment on July 5, and Auburn is in the mix. The five-star safety will choose between Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, Oregon, Florida, and Texas A&M after his rounds of official visits that will conclude at Oregon on June 19.
Edwards visited Auburn during Big Cat Weekend in April and came away pleased with the environment of campus and the style of play defensive coordinator DJ Durkin produces. He also cited the impact that his former high school teammates have on his decision.
'It's really important for my decision,' Edwards said in an interview with On3. 'I would never think the guys like Blake Woodby, Bryce Deas, Durell Robinson, Darrion Smith would ever lead me wrong. They're good guys and I definitely look up to them.'
Edwards is a five-star safety by On3, 247Sports, and Rivals, and ranks as high as the No. 2 safety in the country for the 2026 cycle. His teammate, Wayne Henry, is Auburn's lone defensive back commit at this point of the recruiting cycle.

Fabian Edwards: 'Juicehead wrestler' Dalton Rosta will sniff my crotch at 2025 PFL 10
HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Fabian Edwards is adamant that Dalton Rosta has used performance-enhancing drugs at some point in his career. Edwards (15-4) meets Rosta (11-1) in the middleweight tournament finals Thursday, which headlines 2025 PFL World Tournament 10 from Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. "He's a juicehead wrestler, and that's it," Edwards told MMA Junkie and other reporters of Rosta at a pre-fight news conference Tuesday. "He's a juicehead wrestler, he's going to come in there and try for a bit of hands, but we know what his game is going to be. He's coming in to sniff my crotch for five rounds for five rounds and make it a boring fight, and I won't have that." Edwards was then asked if he thinks Rosta is really on steroids, and the Brit doubled down on his accusations. "Of course he's on steroids," Edwards said. "He's either on it or been on it, you know what I mean? One of the two. Get him to do a lie-detector test and say, 'Have you ever been on steroids in your life?' And 100 percent, I bet my whole purse that he doesn't f*cking pass it." Despite the war of words between the two, Edwards insists he's unfazed by anything Rosta has to say. "Dalton, I don't think much of the kid," Edwards said. "I really do think he's a b*tch because if I were to catch him outside, just me and him, and no cameras around, and we really get into it, I know he wouldn't want to get into it. He's just putting an act on, so, it is what it is."

Keldric Faulk and Cam Coleman named to All-SEC First Team
A pair of Auburn Tigers received spots on the All-SEC Preseason First Team this week. Wide receiver Cam Coleman and defensive lineman Keldric Faulk were both named to the 29-man squad by coaches in the conference. It is the first time either Tiger has been named to the preseason First Team in their respective careers. Heading into just his second season on the Plains, sophomore wide receiver Cam Coleman joined fellow second-year pass catcher Ryan Williams (Alabama) on the All-SEC First Team. Coleman had a see-saw start to his college career due in large part to injuries and a carousel, which essentially operated as a ring of fire, at the quarterback position, but found enough balance to finish his inaugural college football season strong with over 300 yards and 5 touchdowns in his final three games. The former five-star recruit ended his freshman campaign with 37 receptions, 598 yards, and a team-high 8 receiving touchdowns. A native of Phenix City, Alabama, Coleman is still just 19 years old heading into a season in which he has a chance to play himself into the Heisman Trophy conversation. Keldric Faulk opens his junior season after an absurd accession into stardom during his sophomore campaign. Faulk was a beacon of ferocious, flashing, light in an otherwise cloudy season for Auburn a year ago. Sharing the title of best pass rusher on the team with senior Jalen McLeod, Faulk turned in 45 tackles, 7 sacks, and 11 tackles for loss. The Highland Home, Alabama native took up residence in the opponent's backfield weekly, earning standout performances against Georgia (2 sacks), Alabama (2 TFL and forced fumble), and Kentucky, when he won SEC Defensive Lineman of the wood. Auburn was one of six programs in the conference to receive multiple recognitions on the All-SEC First Team. Georgia (9) led the way with Texas (3) and LSU (3) finishing ahead of Auburn (2), Florida (2) and Alabama (2).
