Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6 Electric Motorcycle Spotted Testing In India

NDTV25-04-2025
Royal Enfield is entering the world of electric bikes with a new sub-brand called the Flying Flea. It's no secret that the first product of this range will be the C6. The EV made its debut at the EICMA and has already been showcased in the country. However, this is the first time the two-wheeler has been spotted testing in the country. Before beginning with the details of the pictures, it is worth mentioning that RE deployed over 200 engineers for the development of this product, signifying its importance.
The pictures of the test mule bring life to the prototype showcased by the brand earlier. It is a demonstration of the functioning of the machine, which comes with circular LED lighting, which is a reminder of the brand's retro-modern approach with the machine. Sticking to its roots, the bike gets a slim body with an aluminium frame and girder forks (a design used on old bikes). Along with this, we can spot the split seat design and black alloy wheels.

The slim body of the bike provides space for a magnesium casing, which is designed to control the flow of air. The specs of the bike have not been revealed yet. However, we can expect the bike to have a range of around 100 km as it has been designed for use in an urban setting. To make it suitable for its job, the brand has tried its best to control the weight of the machine, keeping it under 100 kg.
Apart from the design, the manufacturer has also focused extensively on the tech used on the machine. So much so that it can be called the most feature-rich bike that will roll out of Royal Enfield's factory. It will have a round touchscreen display, which will enable tons of features like voice control, connectivity, and more. To make it work, the brand has Qualcomm's Snapdragon processor. At the time of showcasing, Mario Alvisi, Chief Growth Officer of Electric Vehicles at Royal Enfield, claimed that the bike would have the most advanced features.

Kaynes semiconductor row: Sridhar Babu accuses KTR of misleading public

Hyderabad: Telangana industries minister D Sridhar Babu has accused BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) of deliberately spreading misinformation regarding the Kaynes Technology semiconductor project being shifted to Gujarat. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now He called the claim that Telangana lost the project due to govt failure "an outrageous lie" and described KTR's remarks as a "cheap attempt to deflect blame and cover up his own shortcomings." In a statement issued on Tuesday, Sridhar clarified, "Kaynes did not 'flee' Telangana. The project was drawn to Gujarat because the Central govt and the BJP-led Gujarat govt offered massive subsidies. KTR is fully aware of this, yet he continues to mislead the people of Telangana with baseless allegations." He pointed out that the Centre approved a 50% subsidy under the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) for the Kaynes project in Sanand, Gujarat. The 76,000 crore ISM scheme was designed to promote semiconductor manufacturing in India, and once it became known that units in Gujarat would automatically qualify for a 50% subsidy, semiconductor firms naturally gravitated toward the state. For its 3,307 crore investment, Kaynes received an extraordinary 1,654.5 crore subsidy from the Centre. The Gujarat govt added another 40% of the central subsidy amounting to 661 crore, bringing the total subsidy package to approximately 2,314.9 crore, or nearly 70% of the project's cost, the minister said. He criticised the Centre for failing to extend similar support to other states, claiming that only Gujarat receives such "stepmotherly favoritism." He added, "Semiconductor companies are naturally drawn to Gujarat because of the clear message that the state will fully support central subsidies. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now This blatant partiality is something the BJP must answer for." Sridhar Babu further criticized KTR for remaining silent on the Centre's bias, saying, "Instead of questioning the BJP's favoritism, KTR chooses to attack the Telangana govt. His silence on the Centre's role only highlights his lack of courage. MSID:: 123388303 413 |

Remove GST on handloom, insurance: KT Rama Rao to Centre

Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao has demanded that the Centre completely remove goods and services tax (GST) on handloom products and on all life and health insurance policies. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Along with these, GST should be abolished on all education-related fee, cancer medicines, and life-saving drugs that are critical for survival. He also called for a reduction of taxes and the complete removal of cesses on petrol, diesel, and LPG. He said the practice of collecting cesses instead of taxes was a deliberate strategy to bypass revenue sharing with states. "This is not just unjust — it is undemocratic," KTR added. The BRS working president wrote a letter to the Centre ahead of the upcoming GST council meeting, criticising the Modi-led administration for what he called "headline management through hollow announcements" instead of addressing core economic issues faced by ordinary Indians. In particular, KTR slammed the Centre's recent media campaign around the removal or revision of the 12% GST slab, calling it a diversionary tactic meant to overshadow the crippling burden imposed by fuel prices and unjust taxation policies over the last decade. He said the Centre was aggressively promoting the idea that removing the 12% GST slab would bring a 'real Diwali' to the people. But for a govt that consistently raised petrol, diesel, and LPG prices — collecting lakhs of crores from the public — "this is nothing more than propaganda", KTR said. Reiterating the long-standing BRS demand, KTR asked the Centre for complete removal of GST on handloom products, asserting that the handloom sector was not just an economic contributor but also a custodian of India's cultural heritage.
